Op: Tempest at Copehill Down was a huge success and we’ve had loads of positive feedback from players on the Stirling Airsoft Facebook Page.  As usual our good friend Stephen Reynolds from ReynoldsFilmsDotCom has put together a feature length DVD of the event and we’ve got the trailer right here for you to see.

Our next airsoft event is the Op: Whalers Combat Mission on 25th & 26th of September.  Op: Whalers follows on from April’s Op: Redwing Combat Mission.

First things first,  I’ve ordered the team home.  There is nothing they can do here at the moment.  ISAT are tied up prepping their return to the UK and US after Op Alexander finished.  I  will stay on to bring our new guy up to speed as he’s better placed to work with Aluma after Op Tempest.  The president has nothing but mistrust for me  and I have new leads for Sadeeki so Dimitri and I will leave for Afghanistan after the weekend.  I have intel claiming he has returned to Jalalabad and we will tag on to the UK forces  who have Ops planned in the area.  As I’m sure you’re aware by now the second batch of L.Z.R.D 147 failed to have impact after being detonated at low altitude but the threat remains out there and Sadeeki could hold the key to breaking it.

Although fighting has ceased here tension remains high after Jobre’s death which many street clerics are claiming was assassination.  I can assure you it was not in any way planned but the crazy bastard pulled a pistol and was firing wildly at Aluma during the chaos after the grenade attack at the election results.  We managed to get all the candidates into the building but prior to the announcement we were given intel stating that the head of Jobre’s CP team was in fact Dinwa Ramasgats brother.  I took appropriate measures to eliminate that threat.  I managed to stop him entering the building and one of my guys put him down as we struggled.  Once inside I got Tombalaye to the upper floor and as I returned for Aluma, Jobre who was buried under a pile of his CP team emerged firing.  It’s unclear whether he was using his own weapon or whether he took it off one of his team but his intent was clear; to KILL Aluma.  He managed to get several shots off  before myself and and one of my guys put him down.  With Tombalaye and Aluma secure upstairs we secured the area and then escorted the president to the roof of Government house so he could observe the situation.  It was here we parted company.  I think he felt safer surrounded by his loyal guard alone.  Shortly after, I observed him calling out orders on the front line of the battle that raged below.  At this point Dimitri and I, along with the LO team from TFB, moved to assist ISAT forces as they fought to clear the DBR  from the market area.

If anything changes before I leave I will contact you immediately but I’m confident the tension will ease in the next few days.  The new national army have the place well under control which came as real surprise to me I tell you.

President Victor Aluma declares peace in the CHAD

In a statement to SNN the president said he was pleased to have found a working relationship with ISAT forces after a hard long slog to the elections in N’Djamena last Saturday.

Trouble started on Sunday as Aluma was announced as the president and rebel factions believed to be part of the DBR Movement threw a hand grenade at the canidates’ podium.  All three candidates were rushed to safety inside the KGB party HQ where it is thought a fire fight ensued between the DBR protection team of Otto Jobre and ISAT forces trying to protect Aluma and his newly appointed deputy who was also a presidential candidate, Pascal Tombalaye.  The firefight resulted in the deaths of the protection team and and Jobre himself who is said to have drawn a pistol and fired several shots towards Aluma before being killed.  These events sparked fighting which witnesses described as the most fierce they have seen in CHAD.  It also marked the first of what many hope will be joint KGB and ISAT military operations as both forces fought side by side in the aftermath of the grenade attack.

The DBR managed to unleash a second batch of the L.Z.R.D 147  pathogen but it was detonated lower than intended and therefore unable to have the intended effects on the population.  Fortunatly the anti lizard innoculations had been issued to 99% of the population and so most people suffered no ill effects whatsoever.

According to the KGB manifesto ISAT forces will be reduced significantly as soon as the remaining troops are shipped out now that OP Alexander has come to an end.  The men and women of UK 2nd Batalion Royal Fusiliers an U.S 1st Batalion 15th Infantry Regiment have been commended on the job they have done and now look forward to finally going home.

The question remains just how long will it be before the brave men and women if ISAT are once again back in the CHAD.

Intel has confirmed the LIZARD FLU outbreak was man made.   This particular strain is named L.Z.R.D 147.   Dimitri brought the scientist up with him and he’s confirmed four of the cases we have seen as the 147 strain.

We also have a suspect named Dinwa Ramasgat, who is either the man behind the release or the patient zero.  We are trying to locate him and confirm now.  He is top priority until we know more.  At present we don’t know if Ramasgat has allegience with any of the major groups out here or whether he is a lone wolf.  I have made ISAT command aware and Task Force Black are fully up to speed.  Op Tempest starts in 48 hours and we need him secured before the voting starts.  Any assistance from other agencies would be invaluable.

By now you should all have seen the standard map of Copehill Down detailing the locations of important buildings for this weekend’s Op: Tempest game.

Now we’ve gone all technological and created an interactive map of Copehill Down for Op: Tempest using Google Maps.

The map shows all the buildings and points of interest that you can see on the standard map, including the safe zone where food will be available and each team’s HQ’s and Regen Points.

The map can, of course, be viewed on smart phones and internet enabled devices like iPads, but for obvious reasons we recommend that you don’t take these into combat with you and  Stirling Airsoft cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage if you do choose to take such items with you into the game.

Setting up the Google Map for Op: Tempest is really just a bit of an experiment for us right now but if people like it and find it useful then we may start making Interactive Maps for all our airsoft games in the future.  Leave us your feedback in the comments below and let us know what you think of the map.  Do you think it’s useful?  What other features would you like to see added on our maps for future events?

I’ve got unconfirmed intel claiming the CHAD Lizard flu outbreak is man made.  My source claims that he knows a former military scientist in South Africa who was approached last month by a group of people with the base materials needed to create the virus.  Dimitri is down there following a lead on a new Hawalla we think is up and running so I’ve tasked him to find the scientist and if need be bring him up here where I can talk to him.  Hopefully he will cooperate with Dimitri though we have enough going on here as it is.  Specifically if this virus was released rather than a natural occurrence.  It’s a hell of  list of suspects to say the least.

With regard to the hunt for Sadeeki we have no sign of the man himself.  My guys know what to look for and they have several points that tie in with what we know about his SOP’s.  He was definatly here but at present we dont know if he is still here.

Deadly Virus Strikes CHAD Days Before Elections

The disease was thought to have died out many years ago but several cases over the past 2 days  have caused Aid agencies to issue thousands of vacinations to to the Chadian Government under the KGB President, Victor Aluma.

KGB sources have released  a statement claiming that vaccinations will be handed out to citizens on Saturday before the voting commences.

The Red Cross have advised how to spot symptoms in potential victims.

• Scaly skin
• Excess skin down the spine
• Splitting of the tongue
• In extreme cases a male victim can suffer from a scaly mantail which leads to death within days.

SNN will keep you updated as the situation in N’Djamena unfolds.

Op: Tempest is rapidly approaching.  The game will be set against the backdrop of the elections in Chad.   You may have already seen the election manifesto flyers for the DBR and the KGB featured here on the Stirling Airsoft Blog.  Now we have the map of Copehill Down available, showing all the buildings with their respective roles for the game as well as highlighting the safezones and regen points.

Feel free to print out copies of the map to take with you to Copehill Down.  Mission Objectives for the game will require teams to hold certain buildings at particular times during the weekend so make sure you have your copy of the map so you know which building is which.

We’re looking forward to seeing all of you who are coming to Copehill Down for Op: Tempest and if you can’t make it then we hope to see you at one of our other airsoft games in the future.

Aluma already stands as president. A role he inherited after the assasination of George Henry Tuwkani last year and he is looking to legitimise his rule on CHAD with these elections.

Many have written off the DBR party as wolves in sheeps clothing and claimed that any government led by them would create nothing short of a terrorist state. That has not dettered the party from releasing possibly the most outrageous manifesto in known history. But election day draws closer and the DBR popularity rises every day so time will will tell.
