Our friends, the NC outfit Butterflies, will be hosting their album release show at the Cradle on Saturday the 20th in Carrboro. We’ll be joining a tremendous lineup of bands, including Erie Choir, Cassis Orange, and Wes Phillips.

In addition to Chris Eubank’s string arrangements, we’ll also have Renee Haran from Filthybird joining us on piano and lending her unique voice to the set.

Details about our own album release may be finally coming together. More on that in my next blog post in September of 2011.

Finally, it seems like the fallout of uprooting and moving from NC to DC is settling. Memorial Day weekend thus far feels like the beginning of one long, sorely needed exhalation. The biggest priority today is laundry.

If you’re visiting this blog–which please excuse the fact that I’m still in the process of customizing it–you probably know that there is a new Strugs record sitting on the shelf, awaiting release. Now that I’m getting some more regular oxygen to my brain I can start the process of getting the album out to the public. So please stay tuned.

In the meantime, if you happen to live in the DC metro area, I hope you’ll come see my District debut on Friday, July 2nd at Comet Ping Pong. I’ll have some new friends from the area backing me up–no idea what it’ll sound like yet, but I can tell you that we’re going to try our damnedest to reinterpret the existing catalog in new and interesting ways.

Thanks to those who came to the Lost in the Trees album release on the 15th and caught our early-ish performance. As someone who’s rarely pleased with a show, I thought this one couldn’t have gone any better.

Lost in the Tress CD release show this Saturday

This Saturday, May 15th, Lost In The Trees will be celebrating the release of their new album All Alone in an Empty House at The Cat’s Cradle. A nine-piece incarnation of The Strugglers, featuring a string quartet, will open the show at 9 pm. Tickets are $10.
