I see most of the people confused about the RPM of Hard Disk. So what is RPM basically? Its Revolutions per minute. It is a measurement to calculate the rotational speed of the hard disk. It affects the Latency of a hard disk. Latency is the delay for the rotation of the disk to bring the required disk sector under the read-write mechanism. Confused? Lets talk in lame language now. Basically, RPM decides the time that will be taken by the hard disk to access the data. It will affect the data transfer speed of your hard disk as well as the speed of the data to be accessed.

So for you, higher the RPM better will be the overall performance of your system. Most people are confused between 5400rpm and 7200rpm. The answer is not quite simple though. Its obvious that a hard disk with 5400 will be cheaper but it definitely will decrease your system's performance. If you have no money issues and you want great performance, you can go with 7200rpm or even maybe for 10000rpm or more. Now there are cons as well. The higher the RPM, the less will be your battery life. It will drain your battery faster and will cause more heating as well.

So it depends on you now that you understand the meaning of RPM, what you chose. I won't say which one will be better. Of-course it will depend on the person buying. For any more queries you can comment below.

Blue Screen of Death

If your PC shuts down frequently and you get this error [BOD] then there can be a no. of problems responsible for that. Remember if you get this rarely then no need to be afraid as it can surely be a cause of the overload over RAM. But if its happening again and again and you're unable to run PC then you should be worried.

Causes can surely be RAM as everyone suggests and it can also be a problem in hard disk. So the best way is if you can just try out with a friends Hard Disk. Many people say it can be a problem of windows but its generally not and you can try installing a fresh copy.

So just format ur drive and install a fresh copy of windows. If the problem persists then check by using any other RAM [ you can even try cleaning the RAM first, use an eraser to rub the dirt off] . If still you get this error then you need to get a new mother board which is the most prominent cause of the Blue Screen but just hope your case don't fall in this category.

Eyeon Fusion 6 Crashes on Windows 7

I faced this problem when I Installed Eyeon Fusion on my operating system ie Windows 7 sp1. Whenever I clicked on open it crashed and said that there is some problem with user32.dll.

So the thing is that if you are trying to run 6.14 build 760, it will always crash on windows 7 sp1. The solution is only to get build 761 or you can simply download 6.2 build 874 here(btjunkie.org) or here(isohunt.com) or here(monova.org) and it will work charm.

Making Cleartype Text Settings Default

Was a Big problem after I manually tried to configure the cleartype text settings. The text became worse everytime I tried. So take my advice and don't play with the settings, the default are good enough. You might need to turn it on if you are using mozilla firefox 5. Anyways coming back to the topic how to make the settings default :-

- Open Fonts by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking Appearance and Personalization, and then clicking Fonts.
- In the left pane, click Font settings.
- Click Restore default font settings.

Windows 7 Gadgets not working

I came around this problem when suddenly the sidebar or gadgets were not getting displayed even after adding them to desktop. The following solution worked for me

Go to the following directory

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Zones\

Within the Zones folder delete an extra folder with name "L" and leave the 0,1,2,3,4 folder as such then close the window, log off and then log in again.

You're done..!!

Installing Autocad 32 bit in Windows 7 [64bit]

After doing a lot of efforts finally installed 2008 32 bit in my Windows 7 64 bit. Well its not that difficult just go through these steps.

Download Orca MSI editor first. You can download it at here.

1. Install it.
2. Copy the Cad installation files to your hard drive if you have it on CD.
3. Backup the files ACA.msi and Setup.ini somewhere else for safety purpose or you can very well skip this step as well.

4. Right click and edit the ACA.msi with Orca and delete the action found in the table
"InstallExecuteSequence" that is called "CheckFor64BitOS" Delete the same
line under table "CustomAction"
5. Save and close the ACA.msi
6. Edit the Setup.ini with Notepad. Delete the line under
"#==================== Platform Requirement" that is labeled
"PLATFORM=NO_WOW_64_PROCESS"
7. Double-click the Setup.exe and you should be able to install without any
problems.
