These leather riding boots are my absolute favorite. However, they were looking pretty beat up after a few years. The leather was cracking and the rich cognac color was fading. I thought I might have to give in a get a new, replacement pair. Instead, I took them to my local shoe cobbler to see if they could be repaired. I can't believe it, but they look almost like new! They conditioned the leather, restoring the color and re-soled them. Not bad for $28!

I decided to bust out these bright colors thanks to the springlike temperatures we've been having. It's a nice departure from my mostly dark winter wardrobe. Some people were wearing tee shirts and shorts, but I didn't think it was that warm. But I'm soaking up as much Vitamin D as I can before winter finally sets in!

This weekend was so warm, almost 70 degrees! Saturday night we went to a Christmas lights show (check on my Instagram for a video of it) and it was definitely a little strange thinking about the holidays with the weather like this.

I'm finally getting around to sharing this outfit that I wore on Thanksgiving. I paired a black and white striped tee with olive pants and leopard flats. I've previously worn this striped tee with a tweed vest.

Plaid shirts are staples of my fall wardrobe. I have a closet full of them! This one in all American red, white, and blue is one I've been reaching for a lot. Today I styled it with another favorite pattern, leopard, for a fun mix of prints.

Adult Coloring Book Wall Art

While the holidays are fun, they can also be super stressful with figuring out what gifts to get, coordinating schedules to see family, and picking out holiday outfits for the umpteenth holiday party. During all the craziness, my introvert self needs a little time alone to unwind! I decided to get an adult coloring book since they are very popular right now for relaxation. Hallmark had a whole section of adult coloring books making it hard to choose. They also had a bunch of crayons and color pencils to go with the books.

I picked these mechanical pencils since they bring back memories of elementary school and they're in a cute carrying case. Once I started coloring, I understood why everyone loves these adult coloring books. Since I was too busy focusing on what colors to pick, I wasn't stressing about anything.

All of the pages in the Hallmark adult coloring books are perforated so you can rip them out. I decided to frame mine to turn it into wall art. I selected a simple silver frame to not detract from the colorful piece.

I already have two faux fur vests, so I didn't exactly need a third. But I really loved the color of this one and justified it since it's a nice neutral that will go with everything. I got it from Target's girls section which is a treasure trove of items on the cheap. This vest was just $24.99! I styled it with a basic white tee, gold tassel necklace, and olive skinnies.

Tell us about your blog

Dresses & Denim is pretty much an online scrap book of my life. I feature my outfits and travels (I have major wanderlust!), show video tutorials on how to achieve beautiful braids and other hairstyles, and share sweet moments with little toddler boy.

When you are not busy blogging, what are you doing?

I spend lots of time enjoying being a mommy, work 2-3 days a week, spend way too much time planning frequent vacations, and I work out 3 days a week.

What is your favorite beauty product?

A bold lipstick. I like bright pink for the summer and a bold red for the winter. Right now I’m obsessed with Red-y To Wear by Clinique.

What’s the best piece of fashion advice you have ever gotten?

Shoes and clothing are NOT an investment. Buy what you like and treat yourself to special pieces occasionally, but don’t be fooled into paying way too much for wardrobe items under the false notion that it’s an investment.

What item in your closet can you not live without?

My favorite black skinny jeans from Express. I seriously wear them at least 2 days a week. They go with everything and give a styled look even with a basic tee.

Everytime I'm in Target I wind up buying at least one thing that I wasn't looking for. I saw this striped tee and had to have it, especially since it was on sale. This quilted vest is one of my favorite layering pieces for the fall. It's great for those in-between days when it's not too chilly and I can wear the vest in lieu of a coat. Today I decided to pair it with this black bow blouse for double the bows!

I've previously worn the bow cardigan with a striped tee and jeans for a more casual look.

How is it Monday already?! Last week was especially busy for me at work so I did a lot of relaxing (aka being lazy) this weekend. Today I'm remixing this jeweled stripe top. I love that it's like a built in necklace! I paired it with olive pants and my other favorite pattern, leopard, with the flats.

I just got these treggings and I am obsessed! I knew what jeggings were, but I hadn't heard of treggings before. They are a cross between trousers and leggings. This pair from H&M feels and looks like pants, made from twill and have back pockets. Yet, they have the comfort of leggings thanks to an elastic waistband! I also ordered them in a wine color, but I might have to get even more colors since they're only $17.99!

I have gone from wearing summer clothes while I was in Arizona back to fall clothes here in Jersey all in the span of 5 days. I've worn it countless times, but have always managed to pair it with something different since it is so versatile! Things have been a little quiet on the blog since I was in Phoenix for work this week. It was my first time in Arizona and the first time I've been in the Southwest! Luckily I got to do some exploring in between meetings. The first day I was there we visited the Botanical Gardens. I had no idea there were so many different kinds of cactus!

When I had a little bit of free time, I hit up the hotel pool. I wanted to take full advantage of the 90 degree weather (especially since it won't be this warm again in Jersey till next summer!). I brought Shopaholic To the Stars by Sophie Kinsella to read.

The mountain views (taken from the hotel room on the 14th floor) were so beautiful.
