A couple of years ago, Dolce & Gabbana's collection consisted of rich floral and print with needlepoint details. I remember how much I just loved it because it was such an homage to

the antique needlepoint design of yesteryear, yet updated and modern without losing its' original appeal.

well, I wish I had those boots, either style...but we did have those purses and bags - but lots of them sold out...fast! We have started collecting them once again and will be offering them shortly...I've already kept one of these for my collection. This one is available for your amazing style.

The Vintedger | The Last Bounty

So, this is the last bounty of our 2014 garden. Everything was withering and/or was dying off, so I decided to start pulling them; in that process, I discovered these veggies. They're late

blooming, obviously, but very welcomed for our palate. Even though we are garden novices and this was very small, it was a pretty bountiful garden. The garden we tried last year was

about 20 x 40 and that was a nightmare; what the heck were we thinking, trying to build much less maintain that size of a garden?! It was huge, overbearing, near impossible to maintain,

{weeding, etc.}; it was tough! Then, after all the sacrifice and it was actually beginning to prosper, our neighbor decided to get the largest bird feeder ever, which basically turned our garden into a smorgasbord buffet for every bird visiting, living in or flying over the state of Michigan...it was quite disheartening. But this year, we made it a much smaller garden, and it was plentiful, as you can see.

We also grew herbs in the garden, which I have just learned how to store. We have Thyme, Cilantro, Basil, Sage and Rosemary. All {except Cilantro} can be preserved using....ice cube trays and olive oil. I use scissors to prune the herbs, and scissors to mince them into the cube trays, then covered them {completely submerged} with olive oil; then, I freeze them...and then, I remove those frozen "cubes" and place them in to a labeled and dated freezer bag for future use. It's been a great resource as it remains very fresh and ready for use without costing more money for fresh-cut-gotta-use-it-real-soon herbs. And....they're purty!!! LOL.

I ventured out to the flea market, a couple of them, actually - saw some interesting things. My saying is, "You never know, so you gotta go." Some days there's so much great stuff and at really great prices - check out a couple of my finds...there's this...

and also this - it's unique and actually interchangeable; but, it has to be reasonable...and the asking price was outrageous, at $125.00.

Hello, Vintedgers!

I will be hosting a blog series of our personal journey named "Vintedge Life" - photographic posts of the search, finds and progress in transforming our vintage lifestyle in to our mid century house and home. I'm looking forward to sharing our products, services and zest for a vintage life with you, our precious clients! So in that quest, I will be hosting a blog series of our personal journey named "Vintedge Life" - photographic posts of the search, finds and progress in transforming our vintage lifestyle in to our mid century house and home. Since we're vintage and mid century to our soul, we're obsessed with buying vintage and mid century pieces; from furniture, linen and lighting to design, decor and appliances. We are always on the prowl for the best, the unique, the rare and the exceptional. So imagine my surprise when, while thrifting, I ran across this amazing gem...

Of course, it was even more stunning in person - the condition was really great, the interior very clean and it was gas-powered ... it was almost perfect in every aspect, especially the rare low price. However, I was not feeling the close proximity of the burners. What is the reason for them being so close together? I suppose the pots were a lot smaller back then, and the sides were used to hold the pots off-burner. But, I just ... couldn't bring myself to do it. I would've preferred the burners further to the sides and a possible flat grill in the mid section instead. Well, after some researching, Mark informed me that these vintage stoves do in fact, exist; some are restored and even custom painted and available online. He then showed me this one in particular...notice how the burners are on the far sides w/a possible flat grill in the middle. If the one I found had that, it would be in my kitchen right now!

But THIS one below ... is my DREAM stove and oven!!! How absolutely incredible is this ... the overall design and look, the extensive abilities and possibilities; I could just see myself in an apron and heels cookin' up a storm with this in my kitchen. Even w/out the flat grill. It. Is. PERFECT! In every way. I LOVE IT!

This will be a perfect match to our mid century decor and I can hardly wait to run across one of these beauties! If anyone knows where to find one of these local to Detroit, please let me know.

Transition To Fall | 2014

Hello, Vintedgers!!!

Yes, it's here...fall, that is. Are the colors beginning to change where you are?

Well, as we transition from summer to fall, I always love looking at the many beautiful colors and

incorporating them into our fall vintage and mid century collection.

So as we begin, let's take a look at one of our favorite cities in the fall ... which is ... New York City, of course!

... and our favorite muse from NYC, a woman who exemplifies the vibe, pulse and style of New York ...

the one, the only ... Sarah Jessica Parker!

As shown above, SJP {as she's known AND referred to on her Fendi bag, lol}, bids adieu to summer

with this style - wearing a plaid a-line skirt paired with a cami and cardi layer.

Well, our version of her simple yet sophisticated ensemble pairs this peplum cardi with an a-line
