The Voice 4 schedule this week has the Top 10 performers set to take the stage again on Monday night, May 20, 2013 (so yes, The Voice is new tonight) for a two-hour performance show starting at 8PM ET. This show will feature the return of all of last week’s “safe” singers plus a reprisal by the Battle Round mentors, a first for the series, as they return to help mentor the remaining finalists for another round.

Tuesday night’s schedule on NBC for The Voice is a little more confusing. NBC is once again filling two-hours of the night with The Voice 4 content and both hour long shows are being billed as “ALL NEW!” but they’re not. Only the live results show at 9PM ET/PT is new. The segment at 8PM on NBC is a clip show of Monday’s Top 10 performance show. That’s like regifting and saying it’s a new present because you put different wrapping paper on the outside. It’s not new, NBC.

Right now both Team Shakira and Team Usher are down one singer each leaving Team Adam and Team Blake with their teams fully intact. Can they pull it off again or will Adam and Blake see a team member cut for the first time? Performances unseen, we’d most expect Team Usher to be in danger, except for Michelle who has quickly become a fan favorite.

NBC’s The Voice 4 Live Shows Continue:

The Voice 2013 Top 10 will be singing for America’s votes tonight as they give it all they’ve got to become a part of next week’s Top 8.

Like last week, each act will perform then the decision of who stays and who goes is in your hands, America. So on Tuesday night, the two acts with the least amount of votes will be heading home leaving us with the season 4 Top 8.

The Voice 2013 Top 10 taking the stage this week are: (Team Adam) Amber Carrington, Judith Hill, Sarah Simmons, (Team Blake) Danielle Bradbery, Holly Tucker, The Swon Brothers, (Team Shakira) Sasha Allen, Kris Thomas, (Team Usher) Michelle Chamuel, Josiah Hawley.

So Blake and Adam both have all three of their acts in tact. Shakira and Usher are down to two each after losing Garrett Gardner and Vedo during last week’s elimination episode.

In a strange little news cycle about The Voice coaches, we’ve learned that Christina Aguilera is returning and Shakria is leaving. And Usher is leaving and Cee Lo is returning. And Shakira is returning and Usher is returning.

Interestingly enough, all the above is true in one way or another. I think everything is officially official and cleared up for now.

Here’s how it’s all going down:

• For Season 5 (they’re calling it cycle 5), Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green will re-join Blake Shelton and Adam Levine on the judging panel.
• For Season 6 (or cycle 6), Christina and Cee Lo will again be replaced by Shakira and Usher. Blake and Adam will stay put at all times. And so will host Carson Daly.

As I said in my post Thursday, I thought this was all previously stated, but I guess none of it was etched in stone. Until now. This is how it’s going to be. But what about season 7!? Aaaaaack! OK, we’ll worry about that when it gets here.

Maybe I’m the only one who remembers this, but the original plan for The Voice during season 4  was to swap out Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green for Shakira and Usher for just the one season. And Christina and CeeLo would return for the regular fall season.

But in the past week, we’ve gotten reports out of all the top news sites and Entertainment blogs with breaking news that Christina is in and Shakira is out. And now there are talks that Usher is likely to follow Shakira out the door while Cee Lo is in talks to return.

Of course that’s what’s happening. That’s what was supposed to happen. I mean it wasn’t etched in stone, but none of this is exactly breaking news. E! News even ran the Shakira story like it was some sort of breaking news, even quoting her on her decision not to return.

“It was a hard decision for me to make, because I’m really fond of the coaches, the people in production and everybody around me,” she told E!. “And I really enjoyed The Voice, but I also have a musical career and I’m also a mother now and my poor baby’s so tired flying such long distances. He already has more miles than any pilot. So I think I have to give him a little break, and we’ll see what happens in the future.”

The Hollywood Reporter says that Usher is likely to make his departure official soon.

The Battle Round mentors are returning to The Voice 4 next week! Last night host Carson Daly revealed we’d be seeing the Coaches backup support back in the game to help guide the 2013 Top 10 finalists.

Returning to their previous roles will be Sheryl Crow for Team Blake, Pharrell Williams for Team Usher, and Hillary Scott for Team Adam. Team Shakira will get a surprise of its own when The Voice Coach Cee Lo steps in for Joel Madden. Madden will be out with a scheduling conflict which opens the door for Cee Lo to make his return to The Voice a little early.

The mentors support for this season’s final ten acts will air during Monday’s live performance show. Until then we’ll have to wait and see what they have to say to the singers they previously mentored during the Battle Rounds.

The Voice 2013 said goodbye to two artists Tuesday night, leaving us with the Season 4 Top 10. So now that Garrett Gardner and Vedo are gone and some dynamics have changed, it feels like a whole new contest.

Last week The Swon Brothers and Josiah Hawley were close to elimination and this week they made it through with flying colors. And both performances from Monday night were ranking high on the iTunes charts, meaning their popularity has changed and so has their potential in this contest.

So now I have the not-so-easy task of trying to figure out how the artists are ranking and who is most likely going to keep on in the contest. Instead of actually ranking them from 1-10, I think I’ll try to figure out the top 5 contestants and the bottom 5 contestants.

The Bottom 5 (in random order)

• Josiah Hawley
• Michelle Chamuel

Of course there are several people coming in at the mid-range and can either rank higher or lower based on their performances next week. But for right now, I think we’ll be seeing that predicted Top 5 around for awhile.

Tonight The Voice 4′s Top 10 finalists were revealed as part of the live Top 12 results show. Two singers were sent home from this week’s competition, but luckily for the Coaches, none of them lost two singers. That also means just two Coaches maintained their entire teams for next week’s Top 10 live shows.

Team Adam was the first to be revealed as having won over the viewers votes to remain intact and move on to the next stage in the competition. That means Judith Hill, Sarah Simmons, and Amber Carrington were all safe tonight and will compete on Monday’s upcoming live performance show.

Team Blake was the second team to move on unscathed in the competition. Blake Shelton will again be coaching The Swon Brothers, Danielle Bradbery, and Holly Tucker with the help of visiting mentor Sheryl Crow. Clearly Blake’s strategy of an all-Country team has worked out well for him so far.

The two teams to take a hit were Team Shakira and Team Usher. Shakira lost Garrett Gardner while Usher said goodbye to Vedo. Neither of these eliminations tonight on The Voice were particularly surprising as Garrett’s song seemed to be just too far out there and clearly most of the voters agreed. Vedo’s first-up spot on Monday’s show was not a good combination with his weak performance. It was an unfortunate time to have a bad night.

Shakira will still have singers Kris Thomas and Sasha Allen in her corner. Both are great performers and should do Shakira well, especially Sasha Allen. Meanwhile Usher has two strong artists with Michelle Chamuel and Josiah Hawley. Michelle is proving to be a fan favorite while Josiah shot up in the iTunes download charts last night in a surprisingly strong move that helped keep him in the game.

Next week we’ll see the Top 10 finalists perform under the return of their Coaches and supporting mentors for Monday’s two-hour live show starting at 8PM on NBC. Then on Tuesday two more singers will be sent home when your votes are revealed on the next live results show!

Tonight on The Voice Results show the Top 10 for Season 4 will be revealed as two artists are eliminated from the twelve finalists. This will no longer be an even balanced elimination with a singer or two from each team. Instead each coach risks losing two members in tonight’s round based on Monday night’s performances and your votes.

We’re waiting on news that all of the votes placed this week on The Voice 2013 were considered valid and included in the vote totals after last week’s fiasco when all non-call votes were rejected.

It looks like Christina Aguilera isn’t the only Coach returning for The Voice Season 5. The Wrap reports former Voice Coach Cee Lo Green is currently negotiating to return to his famous spinning red chair this fall after taking a season off to work on various other projects.

The return of Cee Lo plus Aguilera would necessitate the departure of two other coaches. It’s entirely possible for Adam Levine or Blake Shelton to eventually want to take a break, but it looks more like the newcomers Usher and Shakira would be the ones to leave after just one season.

After having started to really enjoy the match up for Adam, Shakira, Usher, and Blake I’ll be sorry to see the new Coaches go. It won’t happen, but I’d almost prefer to see The Voice operate its dual seasons with different sets of Coaches and let Cee Lo and Christina greet two new faces this fall. Unfortunately I don’t think that’ll happen.

Last night on The Voice 2013, the Season 4 Top 12 took to the stage and sang for America’s votes. And for the firs time this season, it was all in the hands of America. The coaches no longer have a say in who stays and who goes.

So tonight we find out who America loved and who they didn’t love. By the end of the night, two artists will be going home. And they can be from any team — even the same team. Take note that tonight’s episode airs at 9 pm instead of 8 pm. At 8, however, there’s a retrospect episode that NBC is calling an all-new episode. But it’s really just some footage we from the past week or so we may have not seen yet.

Who will be going home? If I had to take a stab I think the two artists in danger of heading home are Garrett Gardner and The Swon Brothers. I do think the Swon Brothers had a decent moment last night, so if they go then it will be someone unexpected. Or Josiah Hawley, which really wouldn’t be unexpected.
