We’re already more than halfway done with The Voice 2013 and last season’s winner’s album hasn’t even dropped yet. That’s just one problem with two cycles of The Voice every year, but I’m not here to talk about that.

Cassadee Pope, last season’s winner, has shared some details with Entertainment Weekly about her upcoming album.

“[Fans] can expect a mixture. I grew up singing country music. It’s always spoken to me; it’s always felt natural,” Cassadee told the magazine. “Then I had a band. I did the whole rock thing as a teenager. Now I’m merging both. It’s very relevant to country music now, there’s a lot of country-rock, country-pop going on. What you saw on the show, me covering ‘Cry’ and ‘Stupid Boy,’ that stuff is very similar to my original songs, so they can expect the same kind of vibe.”

There’s no release date announced for the album yet as it’s still in the works, but Cassadee will be performing her first single “Wasting All These Tears” on the June 4 episode of The Voice. But you don’t have to wait until then to hear it. Check it out now:

This week on The Voice 2013, the Top 10 became the Top 8 as we said goodbye to Team Usher’s Josiah Hawley and Team Shakira’s Kris Thomas. The Top 8 joined Christina Milian for an after-show interview to talk about their departed fellow contestants and how their experience on The Voice has been.

Everyone seems to agree that even though it’s a contest, it’s never easy saying goodbye to friends and teammates because of how close they all become throughout the season.

“You’re losing two great friends, Colton Swan said. “It’s bittersweet.”

Speaking of The Swon Brothers, they’re the only guys left on the show! The guys are being picked off one by one, which seems to be a trend this year for reality singing competitions.

“We’re going home,” The Swon Brothers jokingly said.

The Top 8 also talks about the “news” that Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green are returning next season.

“That’s amazing,” Sarah Simmons said. “I think that’s really good to have a break. That’s exciting.”

Last night on The Voice season 4 Coach Blake Shelton was joined by his wife Miranda Lambert to perform “Over You” in an effort to raise support for the Red Cross’ efforts in Oklahoma. Viewers are invited to donate at redcross.org or by calling the Red Cross at 1-800-HELP-NOW.

“Over You” was co-written by Lambert and released in January 2012 as part of her fourth album.

The performance preceded the Top 10 results show where viewers discovered Team Shakira and Team Usher lost yet another artist each while leaving Team Adam and Team Blake fully intact for the second week in a row. One more elimination for either Coach Shakira or Coach Usher and they will be cut from the race to win Season 4.

Next week the season 4 Top 8 finalists will be back on stage for Monday’s live performance show and Tuesday night’s results reveal.

The Voice 2013 said goodbye to two more artists Tuesday night, leaving us with the season 4 Top 8. Team Usher’s Josiah Hawley and Team Shakira’s Kris Thomas were eliminated during the results show, leaving both those teams with just one artist each.

Does that mean they’re just one week away from being totally wiped out or will Adam Levine or Blake Shelton finally lose an act? Their acts are all very solid, so that’s hard to say. Even though it’s nearly impossible to figure out who the Top 8 are ranked, I’m going to give it a shot.

And please keep in mind this is a complete shot in the dark and each spot could be a give or take one or two kind of thing all based on how the performance shows go next week …

The Top 8 Rankings: Who has what it takes to move on in this competition?

1. Danielle Bradbery. Even though I don’t get it, Danielle is ranking high on the iTunes charts and the Las Vegas odds have her most-likely to win this season. If she’s not No. 1 this week, she’s close to it.

2. Michelle Chamuel. This one might be Usher’s saving grace. Michelle has really charmed people and with the right song choices, she’ll be around for a bit.

3. Judith Hill. Based on song choices and the fact that Adam Levine is doing everything right with her, I think she’s somewhere close to the top. Even though she’s not ranking on iTunes like Danielle and Michelle, that doesn’t mean people aren’t voting for her. I think she’s still got some legs in this thing.

4. Sarah Simmons. I think Team Adam might remain unscathed for at least another week or so if they keep putting up performances like they have the past two weeks.

5. Amber Carrington. If any of Team Adam is likely to go next, it’s Amber. And that’s ridiculous because she’s very solid. I think she’ll be OK though. But it really depends on the songs and performances next week.

6. The Swon Brothers. These guys need a good song next week or they’re done. If they come out with a great one then they’ll be OK. I think they’re a week-to-week kind of act and still have a chance to make some moves if they stick around the next two weeks.

7. Holly Tucker. I think she’s the weakest on Team Blake. I’m not saying she’s weak because she isn’t at all. But of the three she’s probably likely to go first. Unless The Swon Brothers really tank next week.

8. Sasha Allen. I don’t like putting Sasha here, but Shakira is terrible at picking songs for her artists and she’s likely to blow it for Sasha. So if Sasha doesn’t pick her own song next week, she could be the next to go. Of course anyone from numbers 5 through 6 could easily be in the bottom next week. It just depends on how the next performance show plays out.

The Voice Season 4 Top 8 finalists were revealed tonight during the live results show and there were a few surprises, but at this point it’s inevitable to see great singers eliminated from the competition.

Once again this week Team Adam and Team Blake survived the elimination round entirely intact. Impressive! Sadly that means Team Usher and Team Shakira are both down to just one singer each as they head in to The Voice Top 8 next Monday.

That means Team Adam is still holding strong with Judith Hill, Amber Carrington, and Sarah Simmons. All three ladies are again paying off for Adam’s gamble of going with an all-girls approach.

Speaking of dodging diversity and having it pay off, Team Blake is proudly standing behind his all-Country team as The Swon Brothers, Danielle Bradbery, and Holly Tucker all remain in the competition and will perform next week.

Moving on to the slim teams we’ve got Team Shakira with just Sasha Allen left in the race and that should be good enough to keep her alive in the competition at least a little longer.

Team Usher is standing behind just one final singer with Michelle Chamuel. Again like we’re seeing over on Team Shakira, I think Usher has a very strong contender left in his stable on The Voice. Michelle is getting stronger each week and should push on much farther in the competition.

Next week the Top 8 artists will be back on The Voice 4 stage and compete once again for your vote as we head toward the June 18, 2013 season finale. There can be only one Voice! Will it be your favorite?

We’re ready for tonight’s The Voice Results top 10 elimination show where two more artists will be cut from the competition and form the Top 8 artists. Every coach runs the risk of losing two members tonight and it could happen.

Right now the safest singer is probably Danielle Bradbery after the discovery that she had reached the Top 10 download status on iTunes which gives her the bonus x10 on her iTunes votes. And on the other end of that spectrum is Kris Thomas who had the lowest ranking for his downloads, according to MJs.

Don’t forget that there are two “new” The Voice episodes tonight. The 8PM show is a clip show from last night’s Top 10 performance, not sure why NBC likes to call that “all-new.” Then at 9PM ET on NBC we’ll watch The Voice Results show and live blog the outcome here on this post.

Update: Yep, Danielle made it all the way to #6 as of right now, but we’ll have to see when The Voice official marks the cut off for getting that x10 vote bonus. And yes, Danielle’s entry to the Top 10 pushed her coach Blake Shelton out to #11!

We’re still waiting for an update on iTunes US charts, but as of now Danielle Bradbery is showing up in the coveted Top 10 for iTunes downloads in the Euro charts.

Her performance of “Heads Carolina, Tails California” last night on The Voice Season 4 slipped in at number ten on the charts. If that holds true in the US numbers then she’ll receive a 10x bonus on her vote count putting her well in to the safety zone.

The really funny part is Danielle’s move in to the Top 10 may have bumped out her own coach’s spot. Blake Shelton was holding #10 on the US charts for “Boys ‘Round Here” on Monday, but again if the US charts keep w/ the Euro ones (and all the other entries match right now between the two) then I imagine we’ll heard some laughs about that during tonight’s The Voice Results show.

The Voice 2013 Top 10 sang for America’s votes last night and tonight we find out who America loved and didn’t love as two acts will be heading home.

Like last week, the acts can be from any team, so that means Usher or Shakira could be wiped out tonight. That’s not likely, but it’s possible.

Be sure to take note that the results show actually starts at 9 PM ET/PT. There’s another replay/clip show on at 8 PM that NBC is billing as new content. But the only new episode of The Voice is the results show at 9 PM.

Who will be going home tonight?

The Voice 2013 Top 10 facing elimination tonight are: (Team Adam) Amber Carrington, Judith Hill, Sarah Simmons, (Team Blake) Danielle Bradbery, Holly Tucker, The Swon Brothers, (Team Shakira) Sasha Allen, Kris Thomas, (Team Usher) Michelle Chamuel, Josiah Hawley.

It’s really tough to figure out who stays and who goes. If we’re going only on performances, then I’d think Kris Thomas, Danielle Bradbery and Josiah Hawley are at risk. I think Judith Hill, Sarah Simmons and The Swon Brothers are pretty safe, but everyone else’s fate is up in the air.

Who do you think will be safe tonight and who do you think will be heading home?

Maybe it’s two seasons of The Voice a year or just too many singing competition shows on every year across all the networks, but it’s hard to get excited about a lackluster episode of The Voice 2013. If it’s not energetic and unique and upbeat, it comes off pretty boring. That was the case of Monday night’s Top 10 episode of The Voice.

I’m not saying the performances were bad. They were just kind of snoozy. As usual, I’ve reviewed each of the performances and assigned the letter grades I think each deserved.

The Voice Top 10 Performances 

Team Blake: Holly Tucker, “How Great Thou Art.” Not a fan of the song choice. I don’t think it will do her any favors with young voters. The vocals were pretty solid, though. Grade: B+

(Editor’s note: EVERY week NBC leaves out one video. This week it was Judith. We’ll post it as soon as we find it)

Team Adam: Judith Hill, “The Way You Make Me Feel.” Great song choice, great staging, great vocals. Judith’s cool and fun version of the Michael Jackson hit is going to be impossible to beat for the night. Grade: A+

Team Blake: The Swon Brothers, “How Country Feels.” Not into this song choice either because it’s TOO country. Those of us who don’t know country feel alienated with this out-there song we’ve never heard of. They’ll probably be just fine after this solid performance but people probably won’t respond to it like they did last week. Grade: B+

Team: Adam: Amber Carrington, “Break Away.” Another smart song choice from Adam. It was just right for Amber and it’s a well-known song that voters will resound to. The vocals were right up there with Kelly Clarkson’s. Very solid performance. Grade: A

Team Shakira: Sasha Allen, “Next To Me.” A better song choice from Shakira this week. Sasha handled the song pretty well even though it sounded shrieky for a bit. Overall, it was entertaining and upbeat. Grade: B

Team Usher: Josiah Hawley, “Clocks.” More terrible Usher song choices. Ugh. This song is not going to do anything for Josiah. In fact it will probably send him home. His time in this contest depends solely on song choice and Usher failed him with this. The vocals were fine, but the song was boring and not very entertaining. Grade: B-

Team Blake: Danielle Bradbery, “Heads Carolina, Tails California.” What is with this show and song choices? I’ve never heard of this song and I really don’t want to hear it again. I understand that it’s a country song and these are country singers, but some people who aren’t country fans can still be swayed with the right song choices. But these songs aren’t cutting it. The vocals were fine enough, but I was just bored with the performance. Grade: C+

Team Shakira: Kirs Thomas, “Adorn.” I didn’t know this song either, but it worked for Kris, so I won’t criticize this song choice. It was a bit snoozy at this point in the game, but Kris has such an awesome voice he can sing anything. Will America respond well to this side of him? Probably not. But I liked it. Grade: B+

Team Adam: Sarah Simmons, “Mama Knows Best.” I had to make sure I wasn’t watching American Idol when this Jessie J song came up. But when she put her raspy, edgy spin on the song I knew it wasn’t Idol. Her performance was soulful, powerful and fun. Her styling was ATROCIOUS and if I were to include that in her grade she’d get a D. But I won’t take off for her horrible styling. Grade: A+

Team Usher: Michelle Chamuel, “Just Give Me A Reason.” I’m not sure why this performance was saved to close out the show. It seemed pretty karaoke to me. Michelle isn’t even close to being similar to Pink, so I don’t think this song worked for her at all. Grade: C+

Who were your favorite performances of the night?

The Voice 2013 Top 10 finalists are back tonight on NBC’s stage as they compete for your votes and downloads thanks to another round of performances. The remaining artists won’t be alone this week as their coaches and mentors will reunite to help them prepare for their toughest fight yet. Of course it only gets tougher from here on out!

Only ten singers remain and after Tuesday’s The Voice Results show we’ll be down to just eight finalists. Team Adam, Team Blake, Team Shakira, and Team Usher are ready to go if you’re ready too.

Usher thought there was no wrong way to do this song, but felt it was a different shift and a departure from what he expects even though he enjoyed. Shakira thought it was “heavenly.” She was impressed by Holly’s control throughout the song. Adam commends her “pristine” quality of her voice.

Coach Blake says the song was appropriate considering the disaster in Oklahoma. He thinks she turned it up at just the right time in the competition.

Team Adam – Judith Hill – The Way You Make Me Feel – 1-855-864-2302

Blake says it’s hard to find anything to criticize in her performance. Usher talks with Judith about sharing her emotions over Michael Jackson.

Coach Adam says he hopes she understands that people know she’s celebrating her love for MJ rather than taking advantage of her history with him as she feared.

Team Blake – The Swon Brothers – How Country Feels – 1-855-864-2303

Shakira says they make her “feel good” every time they hit the stage. Adam says he can’t get the Scream mask out of his mind. Adam thought they were “a lot of fun.”

Coach Blake says people are starting to realize that they’re great performers and can go on to be big stars. He thinks he’s hard on them, but it’s paid off.

Team Adam – Amber Carrington – Breakaway – 1-855-864-2304

Blake says had a good call with a Kelly Clarkson and Amber has the power to do that. He thinks she always sings great. Usher says he was blown away by her incredible talent and he loved the personal arrangement. Shakira thinks this song was right in her wheelhouse with the perfect balance of country and pop.

Coach Adam says this means she has an incredible voice because of how well she did with Kelly Clarkson. He thinks it was an incredible job and he “friggin’ loves” her.

Team Shakira – Sasha Allen – Next To Me – 1-855-864-2305

Adam says he is so happy that she did this kind of song. He wanted to see her interpret a pop song and says she did a fantastic job of it. Blake says he couldn’t agree more and it was awesome with a great vocal performance. Usher thinks she’s an incredible artist and singer. He liked how she put her own texture on her performance and is glad to see her having fun.

Coach Shakira says she’s “so happy, so happy!” She is so proud that Sasha could show her versatility by completely rocking this current song after performing older songs in previous weeks. Shakira says Sasha did “so freakin’ good.”

Team Usher – Josiah Hawley – Clocks – 1-855-864-2306

Shakira thinks he “did a great job” but this is a “toughie one” for her. The sound of Coldplay is so unique for her and that was a problem for her in his performance though she liked his attempt. Adam says he agrees with Shakira and thinks this was a hard song to attempt. He thought Josiah had moments of ups and downs during the song. Adam is worried he’s confusing the matter, but thinks it was good overall. Blake says it’s hard to comeback after last week’s amazing delivery. He thinks the song doesn’t have the lyrics that can be sold on.

Coach Usher says he’s important to take constructive criticism and get stronger from it. Then he talks about how he had to struggle as he developed as an artist while Josiah is going through the same development and growing pains. Usher promises to continue to nurture his talent.

Team Blake – Danielle Bradbery – Heads Carolina, Tails California – 1-855-864-2307

Usher thought it was great and an incredible performance. He thinks she made Country cool again. Usher says it’s obvious what Team Blake has put in to her as an artist. Adam says it’s crazy how she’s already like a superstar at just 16 for fulfilling every aspiring singer’s dreams with what she does. He calls her astonishing and loves watching her on the show.

Coach Blake thinks he could go “on and on” about Danielle because she’s amazing. He thought this particular performance was great because she was “care free” and knows she doesn’t have to overdo it since everyone knows she can kill it. Blake likes how she delivers relatable songs that mean something to her. He says he expect her to soar on iTunes sales.

Team Shakira – Kris Thomas – Adorn – 1-855-864-2308

Adam says it was “great, so great” and thinks he has a fantastic voice. Adam is worried Kris is over-thinking the performances and wants to see he get more comfortable. Usher agrees that he was thinking too much, but praises Kris’ voice. He didn’t like the song, but says it still worked for Kris. “You are an incredible vocalist,” says Usher.

Coach Shakira thinks the song was perfect for him and understands why he’d be a little nervous. She reminds us that we’re hear to discover talent, not just who has the best nerves. She fends off criticism from Usher who tries to cut in and correct her. She thinks he has such a unique voice and has proved why he’s still here in this competition.

Team Adam – Sarah Simmons – Mamma Knows Best – 1-855-864-2309

Blake says “oh my gosh!” and doesn’t know what to say. He thinks she radiated sexy tonight and says she turned a corner with this performance. Blake calls her a rocker. Usher says “if you got it, you got it” and is really eager to hear more praise because she deserves it.

Coach Adam is fanning himself to cool down. He is excited to hear Blake “wet his pants” over Sarah. Adam loves how she can continue to surprise us each week. Adam confidently says this was the performance of the night.

Team Usher – Michelle Chamuel – Just Give Me A Reason – 1-855-864-2310

Michelle finishes out the night with her performance and Adam says he’s a fan of hers. She makes him happy and proud and takes away the competition element. Blake likes how dramatic she can be when Michelle performs and says she can do things he can’t when performing.

Coach Usher tries to go over the top from Adam and says Michelle had the performance of the night, not Sarah. Usher thinks she wins it because it’s all about her when she performs.
