Foster’s Newborn Session

It’s been a while since a precious little newborn has cooed in front of my camera! Foster slept during the entire session and was terrific! Proud parents Elizabeth and Patrick cuddled, kissed, and giggled with their precious new life in their arms. It was a beautiful evening at the historic home in downtown Huntsville that Elizabeth grew up in…complete with a gorgeous garden full of lush roses and mossy paths. Welcome to the world baby Foster and I’m thrilled to have been one of the first to capture you in this beginning stage of your life.

Sheena’s Blissful Bridal

Like I said when I posted a sneak peek on facebook, there’s nothing quite like a beautiful, blissful bride! Sheena was so incredibly relaxed during her session that shooting was a breeze. From the giggles in the field of wildflowers, to the stunning expressions, I was in heaven. Thankfully it’s only a couple of weeks before Sheena (and her fiance) can grace the front of my cameras again! I can’t wait to celebrate their wedding with them!

Kim & Kyle’s Mobile Manor Wedding

While I feel eternally blessed to be able to witness and capture the love between so many incredible souls, there’s nothing like seeing one of your best friends saying “I do!” to the man of her dreams. It seems like only yesterday Kim and I were having slumber parties with our friends every weekend. Now we are scattered across the nation (and sometimes across the globe). However, it’s wonderful to have everyone come back together to celebrate such a happy time in Kim’s life. It was as if we were never separated, and the fun picked up right where it left off.

Kim and Kyle’s wedding took place in Mobile’s GORGEOUS Magnolia Manor, built in 1854. The historic home made my heart flutter with inspiration! The huge Oak trees on the property formed a delightful canopy and made for an exceptional backdrop to exchange vows. Although the day started with a few showers, by the time guests started to arrive the skies had cleared and everyone welcomed the sunshine! After celebrating well into the night with the two love birds, friends and family bid them a Happy Honeymoon as Kyle whisked Kim away to the beach!

Record Store Day is April 21st!

This Saturday (April 21st) my husband and I (along with every music lover) will celebrate Record Store Day at our shop! This worldwide event is now in it’s fifth year, and Vertical House Records has been a part of this awesome holiday since the beginning! While it’s incredible to be able to capture two people in love, this year I’m thanking the Universe for not having to turn anyone down for wedding coverage. You see, this is the first year I will be able to participate! Previously, there has always been a wonderful wedding to lure me away from celebrating. I think it’s a sign that I’ll be exactly where I should be this Saturday – providing our community with a place to gather on Record Store Day!

I was beyond thrilled when the Huntsville Times contacted me asking to do a story on Record Store Day and Vertical House Records. The writer and I thought it would be a wonderful idea to capture the people of Huntsville with one of their favorite records. Last Friday over 60 people came in to get their photo made! While the full story will be running in the Thursday GO! section of the paper, here are some of Huntsville’s finest with their vinyl du jour!

Tara & Tyler’s Mountaintop Engagement

Tara and Tyler are the cutest! The first part of their lovely engagement session had me giggling with them in the aisles of Booklegger. These two make for the most adorable bookworms, don’t you agree? After swooning in the romance section, we all made our way to Monte Sano Mountain. With such incredible weather and Tara and Tyler’s natural love for each other this was a picture perfect day of bliss!

Luciana & Kyle’s Springtime Engagement

The day started out a dreary, raining mess with no end in sight. After deciding to postpone the session, it was as if those were the magic words that made the clouds part. By mid afternoon the sun was shining, the birds were singing, and the puddles had cleared. Luciana and I both knew this day was now too perfect to pass up – thankfully it wasn’t too late! I met Luciana and Kyle downtown as the sun was hanging low in the sky. The evening glow made their love for each other radiate tenfold! With Spring in full bloom there was beauty everywhere and it added such a soft romance to the already incredible bliss between these two!

Mike & Jackie’s Jubilent Wedding

Jackie and Mike are beyond precious (as you may remember from their Olde Towne engagement)! Their smiles, giggles, and fish face kisses were plentiful on their gorgeous wedding day! From the DIY details crafted by fantastic etsy artists (including Huntsville’s own Daisy Brains, who created the most gorgeous felt bouquets I’ve ever seen!)

Surrounded by their friends and family, Jackie and Mike tied the knot in the afternoon and celebrated with a rockin’ dance party. From fun group dances, to giddy sing-a-longs, to a circle of love during the final dance (friends gathered around and held hands and sang softly to the newlyweds). It was an incredible display pure happiness and joy. It’s beyond an honor to be able to document such marvelous moments.

Eliza’s Rockin’ 6 Months!

It’s been known that Stefanie and Drew are music lovers! Little Eliza’s onesie has been waiting for her, and now at 6 months she’s ready to rock on with the rest of us! Luckily my husband and I just relocated and expanded our record store, so it was a “fresh canvas” and we got to put our spin on it (pun intended) during this adorably analog session!

Ame & Vijay’s Hindu Celebration

Remember the gorgeous mountaintop engagement of Ame and Vijay? Well, their abridged Hindu wedding here in Huntsville was equally as beautiful and an absolute treat to capture! Surrounded by their friends and family, these two united with a Hindu ceremony at the HCCNA Temple followed by a traditional reception at the Westin. Bright colors, fun music, and lots of love shined through on Ame and Vijay’s special day. Their wedding marked the end of the 2011 season for us, so this is a nice peek back into the year of the rabbit.

A First Birthday, Sesame Street Style!

Around this time last year I blogged about the birth of Georgia June. Today I’m excited to share with you her first birthday party! A couple of weeks ago I got to celebrate this magical milestone of a darling gal with her friends and family. Natasha and Paul used Georgia’s current favorite, Ernie and Sesame Street, as decor. The bold colors, cute cupcakes, and adorable babies warmed my heart as I photographed the precious moments. What a wonderful way to spend the afternoon, don’t you think?!
