Winter is on its way but today this fine Veterans Day, we have fair weather. We are foregoing the usual quiet time to enjoy one of the last warm days.

A Visit from the German Waldorf School

My oldest wrote to the President to encourage him to talk to leaders about protecting elephants which are being heavily poached for their tusks. My younger daughter sent a picture of an elephant she had drawn along with the activist letter sent. We didn't expect a response from the White House but the happy face that came in from mail box was priceless.

Reaching out and making your voice heard when you are a small person is an amazing and gratifying lesson to experience.

Where Have I really been...?

As I grew larger with babe last year, I became less interested in writing and was just trying to keep up with the more important daily actions. With each pregnancy this happens. With E it was all wool work ( couldn't even look at wool) ceased and with my third I also gave up wool but this time all creativity including blogging stopped. Too many other daily rituals to work on. I guess I still kept busy but it never felt like I was getting enough done. Looking back on Autumn... I was however still doing tons and creating and growing a big boy.

And finally one night in Dec he came after a very quick and beautiful water birth at home in the middle of the night. The midwife arrived and he was born. He didn't even wake the girls with his arrival.

He arrived at 2:04am and we went back to bed until morning. In our home on weekends the girls pile into our bed when they wake and on this morning we weren't there. We were down in the guest room. Around 7 am I heard the pitter patter of little feet upstairs. Then down the stairs the oldest came and into our guest room. Then she went to get the other two. As the sun was rising they met their new baby brother for the first time. Daddy woke to three little girls quietly gazing on our little prince.

St. Michael is the good patron saint for community. He symbolizes strong religion, a joyful religion, a religion of service to God and to others. He is also a warrior saint, who does not back down at the prospect of a confrontation with Evil. His name means ‘who is like God?’

St. Michael is also the patron saint for policemen, firemen, soldiers and all those who place themselves, their lives and futures, between Evil and the innocent.

In our community Michaelmas is celebrated with a pageant

At home we make bread and however what you see above is the dragons evil retaliation. hehe

We shape our bread in the shape of the dragon to be slain later with some butter and dragon scale soup.

On Sunday we will be preparing the Michaelmas 501 biodynamic prep for the farm and spraying the farm.

A Courageous Visit

Our Great Grandmother came this past week for a very courageous visit all the way from Texas to spend a week with us bestowing her style and wisdoms on us. Thank you GG for coming all the way up here to be with us. We hope you had fun!

My little 3 year old loves to dump the art supplies on the table which then end up on the floor. How can I teach her to be more respectful of her art supplies at that age? Well I don't know if it will work but here goes. She seems to like it!
