Listen, I realize guys want to get as much money they can, while they can.  A few bumps and bruises and a surgery here and there can patch most guys up.  But at what point do you say, “I just can’t go on”.

Tony Dungy seems to be everyone’s mentor these days so maybe he can offer some words of advice for Bob.  And hopefully for Sanders sake,  they include the words, “Hang ‘em up”.

Consider the stereotypes people have about Detroit…murder, dilapidated buildings, unemployment, etc…

Just a few months ago a man was lying dead in a vacant building while people played floor hockey around him. No one bothered to call the police…

But last night, well, this might be the wost of them all.

A 19-year-old Michigan State University student leaving a Red Wings hockey game with friends Thursday night was dragged more than a quarter-mile under a car and killed, police said.

Let me repeat that for you….1/4 mile. The distance around a track. More than a thousand feet. As a native Detroiter that knows the area, I can’t believe that nobody saw anything (including this person’s friends). Considering this happened after a Red Wings game, there must have been at the very least, several hundred people within a small radius.

Whether the driver of the car was drunk or just simply didn’t care, I truly find this to be appalling.

Unlike most Americans, I rather enjoy watching soccer. I think its awesome when a guy fakes an injury, stays down for 10 minutes and they came out with the magic spray and he’s back in scoring goals.

But I can assure you that you’ll enjoy this highlight reel much more. It involves mud wrestling, hot chicks, hair pulling, tripping, and punching…

Ok, everything except the mud wrestling and hot chicks applies here.

Oh, and #15 for New Mexico, some chick named Elizabeth Lambert, might be the dirtiest player in the history of the sport. She’s got a career as a WWE diva. Vince McMahon’s already made the call

Brace yourselves for a moment. I have some rather disturbing news. Your beloved Columbus Blue Jackets may not last very long. According to reports, they are losing about 12 million dollars a year

A new report warns that Columbus may have trouble holding on to the NHL’s Blue Jackets because the club has been losing $12 million per year in central Ohio.

The report released Thursday by the business group the Columbus Chamber offers a variety of options for strengthening the team’s financial position, such as new taxes or fees to support the Blue Jackets.

I know this hurts the 10 season ticket holders the Jackets had coming into this season. Ok fine 11….I forgot about that distraught Buckeye fan who wrote in last year

Speaking of which, never has the NHL failed so much than trying to create a rivalry between Columbus and Detroit. That Gary Bettman I tell ya….he’s a genius. Forget the Red Wings playing a natural rival like Toronto….let’s play Columbus and Nashville.

Over the years, women have proven to be stellar athletes and, over time, some experts expect women to be able to compete and defeat male athletes. But that doesn’t mean they don’t look downright foxy in their different uniforms.

The Beach Volleyball Bikini

By far, the Gold Medal of Sports Uniforms.  You could put the ugliest professional beach volleyballer out there and every dude would be staring at her backside.  That’s what you get for wearing a bikini and calling it a uniform.

The Tennis Skirt

An oldie and a classic.  Truly stands the test of time.  Although, lately women have gone with the  tight shorts and or suit look (Serena Williams anyone?), the skirt is still the consensus winner for tennis.

The Gymnastics Leotard

Very underrated but very much appreciated.  Just make sure you’re staring at someone who is of age.  In fact, stick to the college competitions to avoid looking like a pedophile.

Track and Field Shorts/Tank Top

Hard to ignore the popularity explosion of girls like Allison Stokke and other pole vaulters who flaunt their backside but you can’t ignore the runners who try to wear the flimsiest shorts possible in an effort to gain that extra advantage.

Indoor Volleyball Shorts

There is a human being out there (probably a man) who decided that girls needed for some odd reason to wear these uncomfortable and extremely short shorts.  I pray to that unknown person every day.

Cheerleading Uniform

Debatable whether its a sport but they get the nod because as my friend said “they do have competitions”.  I think that was code for, “they’re in short skirts, put them on the list or I kill you”.

Field Hockey skirt

Not often seen unless you’re watching the Olympics or ESPNU for a random college game.  Nonetheless, an extremely strong competitor in this category.

Surfing wetsuit

Another one of those sports that we just don’t get to see enough.  Probably because none of us know whats going on and what constitutes a good score.  But if they could just focus on the bikini bottom and wetsuit, we could probably figure out everything from there.

Soccer Shorts

Most would say that the soccer uniform has no business on this list but yet, its one of the few sports where a woman can be overtly muscular and still remain attractive.  Helps if the shorts ride a little high….I’m just sayin

Netball Dress

Very unknown sport that was derived from basketball.  However,  they were smart enough to add some sex appeal and put them in these one piece dresses.  Not common in the States for sure and more of an English/Australian/New Zealand thing….which is fine by me.

Figure skating attire

Dresses, skirts, shorts….whatever these ladies put on seem to work well.  Probably because most of them could fit into a suitcase but hey, I’m not complaining.

Golf Shorts

Fair to assume that us men hate women on the golf course.  They’re slow and they often don’t advance the ball beyond 50 yards.  But those outfits could make Bea Arthur look attractive….(ok, maybe not her…RIP Bea)

Chris Johnson is either a very confident man or Roger Goodell should really ramp up the drug testing in his league…

I don’t think a team that ever started out 0-6 ever went to the playoffs or anything like that. We’re trying to do something nobody has ever done.”

Just to give you an idea of how the Titans have been playing this year, let’s just look at their three games prior to last week’s win against Jacksonville.

59-0 (L) NE     31-9 (L) Indy     37-17 (L) Jax

Folks, they were outscored 127-26 in those games.  To make matters worse, they still have to travel to Indianapolis to play the Colts….. Not to mention playing Houston and San Diego.

So, all in all, the chances of Chris Johnson’s prediction coming through is ZERO.  In fact, if for some odd reason the Titans pull off this “Music City” miracle, I will denounce my Lions fanship and buy a Vince Young jersey….You have my word.  I’ll even post a picture of it here.

You’d think with two games in the Bronx, the Yankees have this series all wrapped up. But as the Red Wings showed us last year, being up 3-2 with a home game doesn’t mean much if you can’t deliver.

I, myself believe that the Phillies will take this to 7 games. The pitching match-up tonight, in my opinion favors the Phillies. Martinez had an outstanding start earlier in the series and assuming they don’t let him pitch more than 7 innings, he should be more than effective.

But we want to know what the readers think. Who wins this series?

No, this isn’t March Madness and really, it was only an exhibition…but tiny LeMoyne college defeated 25th ranked Syracuse last night 82-79. LeMoyne, which is actually located in Syracuse is a Division 2 school with about 2800 students. For comparison sakes, Syracuse has about 20,000.

And 99% of the time, Syracuse probably has a better team.

But not on this night. The Cuse actually had a 1 point lead down the stretch when little known Chris Johnson of LeMoyne hit a deep 3 to secure the win.

Pretty amazing and its probably one of the reasons college basketball is one of the greatest sports on earth.

If you’re easily aroused by this commercial, join the club. I think I’ve watched it at least 100 times. My wife doesn’t know, so please do me a favor and keep it a secret.

The ironic part of this commercial is that the shoes they are selling are for women…I really wonder how that strategy meeting at Reebox went.

While this probably doesn’t seem like a big deal, anytime somebody actually makes contact in a NBA game, David Stern has a coronary.  Which for all intents and purposes, makes the game more exciting.  And frankly, I’m sick of the “stare down, hold me back mentality” that has plagued basketball and to a greater extent baseball for the better part of the last few years.

If you’re going to throw down, throw down. Early regular season basketball games are meaningless anyways. Remember the good ‘ol Palace brawl….nobody even cared about the NBA in November. But that carried their ratings the rest of the year.

As for Rondo and Paul, we only wish they met more times this season. Unfortunately, their next game isn’t scheduled til Feb 10th. By then, Chris Paul won’t feel the need to punch Rajon in the nuts

During Sunday’s horrific loss to the Rams, several of the 20,000 Lions fans in attendance started to heckle quarterback Matthew Stafford. (I’d love to give you a first or even second hand account of this but the game was blacked out.)

Anyways, Stafford was smart enough not to respond. Knowing full well towards the end of the game, more than a few fans have had their fair share of pops.

But center Dominic Raiola had enough.  Can’t really say I blame him, he’s only won one game in two years.  And remember, it was Raiola who flipped the bird to fans just last year. But Sunday, he was a bit more kind. Just a couple of f-bombs before he was restrained by his teammates.

I’m not an expert here but I’m pretty sure Halloween falls on October 31st.  So I’m not sure it really makes sense to dress up the day after.

Not that I’m complaining or anything.  Anytime the Charger Girls want to dress up in hot costumes is fine with me.  I mean, if they wanted to dress up like strippers at next week’s game, I’d be fine with that too.

Actually, can somebody arrange that?  God I love Halloween.  I wish it was Halloween year round.  Candy and sluts.  Great combo.

Its not so much the hit that is downright scary….its the sound it makes. Erie’s Michael Liambas of the OHL lines up Kitchener’s defenseman Ben Fanelli from the red line and pretty much cruises full speed into him.

I’m not too keen on hockey rules but I’m pretty sure this constitutes charging or boarding or rape.
