This past Sunday morning, Craig shared a big chunk of his heart and vision for his family’s plan to follow Jesus. As we reflect on God working with ordinary people to accomplish extraordinary things, it is both scary and encouraging to examine our own life and responsiveness to our King.

It is also very good to remember that Hong Kong is a Summitview thing, and not just a Swing thing. In light of those ideas, please consider chewing on some of the following questions.

1) What do you think will be the immediate effect of Summitview’s efforts in Hong Kong on:

a. You personally?

b. Your family?

c. Your community group?

2) If you were to ask God what part he would have you play, what could you dream he may have you do?

3) Craig shared many of the significant moments of decision and direction change in his life. What are 3 or 4 of the most significant moments in your life where God led you clearly?

4) What were the life circumstances that God used to bring you to the point of realizing your need for a savior?

5) What would be something God might ask you to do that would really make you uncomfortable?

6) Is there anything big you are asking God for? Do you have a specific desire to be used you in a gospel or Kingdom initiative?

Reading in Joshua this morning and was encouraged to read about Joshua challenging the Israelites to choose their god. We must challenge ourselves with the same question daily. Which god will I serve today? Will it be the god of power or the god of money or some other worldly god or will it be the one true God of the Bible?

Joshua 24:15 And if it is evil in your eyes to serve the Lord, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.

Be able to write out Matthew 7:23 and 1 Corinthians 1:20.

Be able to give the verse references given the verse text for all other verses (you won't be asked for all of them - just some of them).

Write out the transition between Jesus Christ being the solution for our sins and the section
Who was He.

Remember that this week we will be talking about how the mid-term will work on the following week, so please try to be there if at all possible. Thanks.

Great SALT Retreat!

This past weekend there were 105 folks or so from Loveland and Fort Collins up at the YMCA Snow Mountain Ranch near Winter Park. It was a great time of learning, encouragement and growth. We learned about the Gospel of Jesus Christ which is all about the kingdom of God.

Mark 1:14-15 (NIV)
¹⁴After John was put in prison, Jesus went into Galilee, proclaiming the good news of God.
¹⁵"The time has come," he said. "The kingdom of God is near. Repent and believe the good news!"

Good teachings for young and old alike. There was at least 1 salvation and 3 baptisms. God's kingdom was definitely advanced.

Thanks to everyone that was able to be a part of that time. It was certainly a well made investment of time and money. Let's be trusting God for the "fruit" that will continue to be born.

Later today there will be over 100 middle school, high school students and parents from Loveland and Fort Collins traveling up to Winter Park for a 3 day conference/retreat. If you could be in prayer for this time, we know it will make a difference in many, many lives this weekend. Here is a quick excerpt from John Meyer in reference to what can be prayed for:

"Many of our kids have been to great conferences before. Many of them have been in a church environment all their lives. It is easy to have become numbed to the power of God's truth. Yet it is in these years that our teens will either make this faith their own or simply let it go, biding their time until they can walk away from it. Jesus said, "My sheep hear My voice..." I often pray for God to let people hear His voice. We can ask Him for that this weekend."

Rejoicing in Hope

Romans 5:1-2 Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God

In my world, some days seem more worthy of rejoicing than others. And yet if our hope is in the glory of God, rejoicing will be a part of our daily walk with God. The problem for me is that my hope can be in other things and then that is when my spirit of rejoicing dissipates.

God, help me to keep my hope centered in Christ.
