First, you must know that this recipe for Hallelujah Hamm Rolls 2.0 is fail proof! You cannot mess it up. It’s been around for decades, and is the perfect thing to use with all your leftover ham during Christmas, NYE or even Easter! Kids absolutely love it, and it also freezes extremely well. We make it at least two times over the Winter break (and other times throughout the year) or when I know we’ll have a lot of kids over.

The Hallelujah Ham Rolls 2.0 has 2 new ingredients added to the recipe that puts it over the top.

1. Chick-fil-A Sauce! This sauce sets it apart from the original recipe.
2. Sweet Hawaiian Rolls. We use the big packs from Costco or just buy multiple packs from your grocery store.
   

The hickory smoke flavoring in the Chick-fil-A sauce along with the ham and Swiss cheese are the perfect combination, if you ask me and my family. Obviously, our family LOVES Chick-fil-A sauce (I mean, who doesn’t, right?) The original recipe that I have in the archives of this blog calls for Worcestershire sauce. I was out of it one day while making a batch of the Hallelujah Ham Rolls, grabbed the Chick-fil-A sauce for a substitution. Obviously, we loved it and that’s how our new Hallelujah Ham Rolls 2.0 recipe was created. Undoubtedly, you can omit or add to this recipe depending on what you have on hand or what your family needs.

Hallelujah Ham Rolls 2.0 Recipe:

One lb of shredded cooked ham

1 lb shredded Swiss cheese

A stick of soft butter

3 tablespoons of poppy seeds

1/4 cup of Chick-fil-A Sauce

1 pack of Hawaiian Sweet Rolls

Instructions:

• Preheat your oven to 350*
• In a food processor, shred your ham and pour in a large mixing bowl
• Grate your Swiss Cheese. Place it in the mixing bowl as well.
• Melt your stick butter, and place in the bowl.
• Add your Poppy Seeds
• Then add your Chick-fil-A sauce and mix all the ingredients together in a mixing bowl.
• Cut open your Hawaiian Sweet Rolls and place the bottom sides on a baking sheet and fill it bun with the Hallelujah Ham Rolls 2.0 mixture
• Place the top side of your bun on top of the mixture
• Bake for 10-15 minutes.
• You want your cheese to me melting, and everything to be heated throughly.

The 6 ingredients that make this Hallelujah Ham Rolls 2.0 recipe are pretty economical considering there’s 2 sources of protein in these rolls. They’re the perfect party food, or just to have on hand when your kids or family are home on Winter break.

How can I freeze the Hallelujah Ham Rolls 2.0?

• First, you can freezer everything, rolls and all! Follow the recipe, and carefully place the rolls with the filling back in the bag and secure tightly and freeze.
• Secondly, you can just freeze the filling, and place in a freezer container or a gallon freezer bag.
  

Surprisingly, this recipe comes together quickly, and will be a huge hit in your house! It’s the perfect thing to make when you have leftover ham! Since everyone will have different amounts of leftover ham and or cheese from your meals, please know you can play around with the quantity of the amounts in this recipes. This recipe comes together in a matter of minutes, and it will make your house smell absolutely divine. Surprisingly, it’s only a few ingredients but when this Cherry Cheesecake Dump Cake comes out of the oven, you’ll immediately want to find a bowl. Like – immediately. And perhaps the most comfy pair of socks you own, your favorite chair in your house and some whip cream. That’s all you’ll need in life.

It’s starts with a Chessmen Cookie crust. (Easy, right?) But it continues to be easy, and that’s the beauty of this recipe. Because it is just like all the other “classic” dump cake recipes. Minimal amount of time, but huge taste and let’s not forget the feeling of comfort you have when you take your first bite. Years ago, I posted my recipe on a classic Cherry Dump Cake that to this day is so delicious. This one with cheesecake + a chessmen cookie crust is just a twist on the classic.

Here’s what you’ll need to make Cherry Cheesecake Dump Cake Recipe:

• 1 box of yellow or white cake mix (I had a white cake mix so that’s what I used for the pictures)
• 1 1/2 sticks of butter
• 2 cans of Cherry Pie Filling
• 1 package of Chessmen Cookies
• A container of whipped cream cheese (12 oz size)
• 1 tub of whip cream* optional, but highly recommend

INSTRUCTIONS:

• Preheat oven to 350*
• Using a 9×13 baking dish, spray your casserole dish with non-stick spray
• Place your Chessmen cookies in the baking dish to form a crust
• Open your 2 cans of Cherry Pie Filling, and spread both cans on top of the Chessmen cookie crust.
• Scoop out your whipped cream cheese, and spread over your Cherry Pie Filling.
• Evenly sprinkle and spread your dry cake mix on top of the whipped cream cheese and cherry filling.
• Thinly slice your butter and place on top of the dry cake mix.
• Bake in the oven for approximately 40-45 minutes

This Cherry Cheesecake Dump Cake is perfect on a weeknight or to make on the weekend, because there’s little time invested in making this recipe. You can serve it with ice cream or with whip cream. Our personal favorite is with whip cream. Another item you can always add to the top is nuts, such as praline or walnuts. Either way it will taste amazing!

Surprisingly, so many of you were asking for sources. So I thought I’d put them all in one place. First, let me be honest. This was my second attempt at our mantel this year. I had the first one up, and I did not like it at all. Sometimes things happen like that. It got on my nerves, because I just wanted to be done. Obviously, I started questioning my entire set of decorating skills during this point. Because why not make your mood even worse, and be dramatic about it? LOL

Finally, I started over once I had my house to myself, and I am beyond pleased with how it all turned out. All of that to say, is if you are struggling decorating as well just know that everyone goes through it. Sometimes your plans do not work out, and you just have to start over. Starting back is not ideal when it comes to time management, but in most cases it will pay off.

So knowing all the back story, and realizing we all struggle with decision making. I hope you enjoy seeing in full detail my Lush and Rust Christmas Mantel.

Just remember that command strips and floral wire are your BFF when working with a mantel. I have both readily available when I’m decorating my mantel.

• Command Hooks for my garland. These will hold a lot of weight. So I always use these with floral wire to hang my 3 garland strands.
• Command Hooks for the orange garland, ornaments and stockings. These work well when hanging lighter weight objects.
  

The idea and hope of this post is to offer inspiration. You may have a collection of candle sticks that could flank both sides of a mirror, nutcrackers, or a collection of Santa statues. Whatever you may have, you do you! It’s always fun to display your Christmas treasures while decorating. I love to do them in clusters throughout the house. As far as the dried orange garland, I know many people have made their own, which is fantastic! I love crafting! But I thought the price for buying this one while it’s on a door buster vs. making one was totally worth it.

I have plans for another craft that will actually go inside my fireplace since at this moment it is a non-working fireplace. If I can do it, I’ll be sure to share it soon.

First, I love Anthropolgie. Almost anything they make I absolutely love, but my wallet cannot afford. So when we saw these ornaments that we ooh’ed and aw’ed over, we were on the lookout to do a copycat version. Secondly, my 14 year old daughter has a “few” friends on her Christmas list for gift giving. Luckily for me, my daughter enjoys crafting, so I’ve been on the look out of what we could make for her list with limited money involved.

So the odds were in my favor when I walked into Dollar Tree and heard the angels sing! This little clear plastic ornament would be the perfect thing to make our Monogram Snow Globe Ornament Dupe! I also found the following that we used to fill these snow globes. Be sure to pick these up as well as the clear snow globes.

• small gold bead vase filler
• wooden star and snowflake pieces (sold together)
• white, red and green sequin filler packs
• and of course, the snow globe ornament

To be clear, I have many of these supplies on hand in my stash. So my investment was quite minimal to make these Monogram Snow Globe Ornament Dupe. The list looks long, but honestly we had a fun afternoon together making these. We made these during Thanksgiving break, so by Saturday she and I both were ready to make something after all the eating we did.

Here’s a list of what we used to make these:

• Snow Globe Ornaments
• Snow Filler
• Hot Glue Gun
• Mod Podge
• Scrap Cardboard
• Glitter (various colors* if desired)
• Chipboard or Wood Letters
• Filler (beads or sequins – found at Dollar Tree)
• Mini Christmas Trees
• Mini Stars, Snowflakes (found at Dollar Tree)
• Pom Poms (various colors* if desired)
• Scissors
• Kitchen Funnel
• Toothpicks
• Paper Plates
• Paint
• Paint Brushes

My daughter being the glitter loving 14 year old that she is, wanted all the glitter. So…

Here’s the a basic tutorial of how we made these Monogram Snow Globe Ornament Dupe.

• Apply Mod Podge around the rim of the ornament lid and sprinkle glitter. If you use a paper plate it will really cut down on the glitter mess.
• We also painted our letters (not necessary) but use another paper plate to help with cleanup.
• Once our paint was dry we applied a little bit of Mod Podge as glue to sprinkle glitter on top of the painted letters.
• Using cardboard scraps we elevated the height of the ornaments. (inside the lid) Then we poked a toothpick through to adhere hot glue to the back of the monogram letter so it would stay in place.
• Apply your hot glue and snow filler to cover the cardboard.
• Place your globe fillers such as mini trees, stars or snow flakes with hot glue so they’ll stay in place.
• Assembly your snow globe with the lid and globe cover.
• Use a funnel and pour your vase filler and sequin filler inside your globe.
• Attach your pom poms with hot glue on top of the snow globe ornament.

Probably the thing that will throw most people into confusion will be “why” the scrap cardboard? We did this for 2 reasons. First, to give the monogram letter some height. Secondly, we needed something to attach the toothpick through so that we could glue the monogram letter.

Obviously, we are thrilled with how good they look! We also love the fact that we made them ourselves.

They glow, they glisten, they shimmer and really who wouldn’t want one for Christmas? Young or old, they make a great gift. They did take time. On the easy scale of a craft, they really were easy. But there was several (easy) steps. Perfect for a tween or teen to follow and to make!

Another thing (of many) that we enjoyed while making these, is that you can use what you have on hand. Obviously, you can customize the paint and glitter color to the receiver’s likes, and totally create your own! If you make any, please let me know. If you’re from the South, you probably know the “cult” like following of these little white Christmas Tree snacks that everyone loves. Astonishingly, they fly off the shelves around these parts when they’re newly released every year. Everyone is addicted to them! Back in 2021, they released the Little Debbie Christmas Tree Ice Cream, and they sold out in HOURS! Literally HOURS! I was so mad I couldn’t even get my hands on one single pint of ice cream. It was what I had been dreaming about since I had heard of it’s product release. Well, this year I decided I would not become a victim of it being sold out.

I’m proud to report I did not miss out this year!

It truly tasted exactly like heaven. Ha! Delicious, sweet, creamy ~ just like the Christmas Tree Snack, but in a cold creamy ice cream kind of way. So yummy. My husband who usually gives me great ideas to think about, mentioned that I should make a copycat version for those who may not be able to get the ice cream locally. Because I don’t even know if some of you in the midwest or on the west coast would be able to get this ice cream in their stores.

So here’s my own version of the Christmas Tree Cake Homemade Ice Cream Dupe:

This recipe can always be doubled depending on the size of the ice cream machine you have. We’ve had this model of ice cream maker, for several years, and to be honest we really need a much bigger size. Maybe I’ll put it on my Christmas list??? But who wants an ice cream maker for Christmas? LOL Anyways, you’ll have to adjust the recipe accordingly if you have a different size of maker. 

Here’s some tips on how to make this Christmas Tree Cake Homemade Ice Cream Dupe:

• I purchased my red chocolate melting chips from Walmart.
• If you can’t find any red ones, you could easily drop a few drops of red food coloring and use it on white chocolate chips.
• The Christmas Tree snacks have green sugar sprinkles on top of them already. But I also add extra into the ice cream itself.
• Lastly, make a double batch! It’s so good.

INGREDIENTS

• 1 cup whole milk 
• ¾ cup granulated sugar 
• 2 cups heavy cream 
• 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
• 5-6 Christmas Tree Snacks *divided
• Christmas Sprinkles (red, white & green)
• Red Chocolate Melting Chips* or white chocolate chips

DIRECTIONS

• In a medium mixing bowl combine your milk, sugar, heavy cream and vanilla and mix together with a hand mixer or a whisk.
• Pour your mixture into your ice cream maker and start the machine.
• Once your ice cream has started to form into a thicker consistency, crumble 2-3 (I did 3) Christmas Tree Snacks into your ice cream maker.
• You can also add some extra sprinkles at this time.
• Once your ice cream has firmed up, pour your ice cream into a freezer safe container.
• At this time you can crumble 1-2 more of your Christmas Tree snacks and place on top of your ice cream.
• You may also melt your red (or white) chocolate chips and drizzle your red chocolate on top of your ice cream. Or you can wait until you’re ready to serve.
• I usually leave my ice cream in the freezer for several hours before I serve it.
• But of course that’s entirely up to you and your willpower! Haha.

First, let’s discuss dish size or casserole platter size. Undoubtedly, the pan I used is a biggie. I believe I got this scalloped casserole dish at either HomeGoods or Costco a few years ago. But you know that section I’m talking about, that has the extra large porcelain platters? Yes, that’s where you want to look for a deep dish casserole dish. Or you can use a disposable bakeware pan like this one.

Obviously, I have a few tips (or suggestions) for when you’re going to make this Pumpkin French Toast Casserole – big enough to serve a crowd:

• Use French or Sourdough Bread. I get ours from Wal Mart. It’s perfect in size, inexpensive, and you’ll need 2 loaves for this recipe.
• This is an over night casserole. So the earlier you can make it and store it in the fridge, the better.
• Pumpkin Spice Seasoning. I truly prefer Trader Joe’s, but McCormick works just as well.
• Make sure you have enough Pumpkin Pie Seasoning. You will add dustings of it as a layer in-between steps.
• Obviously you can add breakfast meat to the casserole, but my personal favorite way is to serve meat on the side.

Lots of recipes around the web will tell you to cut or cube your bread with a knife. We tear the bread with our fingers, because we like simplicity around here. Perhaps, we’re a little lazy too. Just keep pushing down the bread, I promise it will all fit if you’re using a deep dish platter. The prep work for this recipe goes by fast the more you become familiar with it. This time of year, I make this often for my family or to take to friends.

Here’s the recipe for Pumpkin French Toast Casserole – big enough to serve a crowd:

2 loaves of French or Sourdough Bread. Torn apart into bite size pieces.
10 eggs
2 cups of milk
2 teaspoons of vanilla
1/2 cup of pumpkin butter -OR- I can of plain pumpkin
1 Tablespoon + more of Pumpkin Pie Spice

TOPPING:
1/2 cup of brown sugar
1/2 stick of butter
Pumpkin Pie Spice

INSTRUCTIONS:
Heat your oven to 350*.
Spray your casserole dish with non stick spray.
Tear your 2 loaves of bread apart and place in baking dish
Shake Pumpkin Pie Spice all over your bread. Just a light dusting.
In a mixing bowl add your eggs, milk, vanilla, 1 Tablespoon of Pumpkin Pie Spice and mix really well.
Pour your mixture over your bread. Try to coat every piece of bread, if possible.
In a separate bowl, melt your butter and mix your brown sugar into the butter.
Pour your sugar-butter mixture over your coated bread.
Shake another dusting of Pumpkin Pie Spice over the entire casserole.
Store over night in the fridge. Pull out of the fridge, and set on your countertop at least 30 minutes prior to baking.
Bake for 50-55 minutes* depending on your oven.
Serve with maple syrup or with pumpkin butter.

Surprisingly, the prep work goes quickly. Once you’ve completed all the steps, store in your fridge over night. All those magical flavors will soak through those bread pieces which will make this taste absolutely delicious! If you serve this in large square, you can get 9 servings out of this. If you’re hosting a brunch, you can cut this into smaller pieces and probably get 12-15 servings out of it. Remember, it’s layered with all those bread bites so it’s a hearty dish.

Yes! If you’re looking at the above picture and thinking, gosh they look like Oyster Crackers. Well, they are! Unquestionably, they’re so much more loaded with all the Fall flavors that we love. I found my bags of Oyster Crackers at Target for $1.19 each. You can make this snack mix literally for a few dollars. You’re most expensive items will be the Oyster Crackers (for this recipe I used 2 bags) and your stick butter. Which you can typically find for less than $2 at your grocery store.

My kids love this Pumpkin Spice Snack Mix Crackers in their school lunches, and my husband enjoys them for a work snack. Because they have all the Fall flavors and tastes that we love!

Surprisingly, this Pumpkin Spice Snack mix only took about 5 minutes to prep. Ten minutes to bake, and about 1 more minute to add the sugary topping. It’s a quick recipe that you can do in a matter of minutes. You can even have your kids make it!

Here’s the simple recipe:

Ingredients:

8 cups of Oyster Crackers (2 bags)
3 sticks of melted butter
1 cup of brown sugar
2 teaspoons of vanilla
2 teaspoons of cinnamon (or pumpkin pie spice)

Topping Ingredients:

3 Tablespoons of sugar
1/4 cup of brown sugar
1-2 teaspoons of cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice*

Baking instructions:

Heat your oven to 350*
In a small sauce pan combine your sticks of butter and brown sugar over medium heat and melt together.
Stirring often.
Allow mixture to come to a boil for about 1-2 minutes.
Remove from heat, and add your vanilla and cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice and mix well.
In a large mixing bowl pour your Oyster Crackers into the bowl, and add your heated mixture of butter, brown sugar, vanilla and spice on top of the Oyster Crackers.
Mix really well. So that every cracker is covered in the heated mixture.
Spread your mini Oyster Crackers with the topping already on them – on a large foiled lined baking sheet (I used my commercial size sheet pan)
Bake for approximately 10-12 minutes.

While your crackers are baking:
Mix your sugar topping together.
Add your sugar, brown sugar and your cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice together in a small bowl.

TOPPING instructions:

Once your crackers have finished baking, sprinkle your sugar topping on the crackers while they’re still hot.
Mix everything together so that every cracker has a sugary coating.
This allows your crackers to absorb the sugar mixture and make them extra good.
When your crackers are cool, place in an air tight container. I’ve used an air-tight glass canister jar, like you see in the pictures on this post. Or I’ve also used a gallon size storage bag. Whatever you use, just make sure it’s air tight.

Obviously you may use Cinnamon if Pumpkin Pie Spice is not your jam. Pumpkin Spice everything is the theme in our house during Fall. Thankfully, my entire family enjoys this flavor as much as I do. Because I’m on team Pumpkin Spice EVERYTHING! For all of you who maybe on the fence about using the PS seasoning for this recipe, it truly is mild tasting. I don’t think it’s strong at all.

I have three favorite things about this Double Double Toil and Trouble Halloween Mantel.
1. I love it when my candles are lit and turned on in the evening. It’s so dramatic.
2. The only thing I purchased “new” for it was the vintage witch poster.
3. Everything else (other than the pumpkins) I shopped the house or our yard for. Which totally made it so much better.

This poster (which was a digital download from here) of witches cooking was the perfect image to go along with MacBeth’s famous quote of:

“Double, double toil and trouble;

Fire burn and caldron bubble.

Obviously, I shortened the quote for my chalkboard art. But you get the idea!

I wrote the chalkboard out myself. Not sure if it’s all proportioned out correctly, but hopefully it makes a statement. I’ve always loved Lolly Jane’s printable version of this quote and how they styled it. So basically I mimicked their layout of the words on my chalkboard sign. As for this Double Double Toil and Trouble Halloween Mantel is everything I love into one vignette. Most things on here were thrifted, made by me, or shopped for around my house. During the 14+ years I’ve had this blog, you probably know I’m a huge fan of Fall. HUGE. I embrace it all. The leaves, the smells, the feelings, the weather ~ it’s simply the best. If you’re new here (WELCOME!) and if you’ve simply came for this DOUBLE recipe, I’ve got you! I decided to recreate my normal recipe and turn it into this one for Double Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Muffins. To basically feed a mass of athletic teenagers boys and their coaching staff and trainers. My son was traveling with his football team to a game that was 90 minutes away (one-way). I knew they’d be extremely hungry on the way back, so I decided it was time to make a DOUBLE version of these amazing Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Muffins.

Of course I made 6 dozens of these amazing Double Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Muffins for his entire team and their bus ride home. Undeniably they’re delicious and perfectly balanced with sweetness and all the senses of pumpkin spice that we all love. Here’s the recipe below:

• Double Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Muffins
• bake @ 350* for 25-30 minutes
• 2 1/3 cup of all purpose flour
• 2 cups of sugar
• 1 1/2 – 2 Tablespoons of Pumpkin Pie Spice
• 2 teaspoons of Baking Soda
• 1/2 cup of Old Fashion Oats
• 2 teaspoons of Baking Powder
  
• 1/2 cup of apple sauce
• 4 large eggs
• 1 can of plain pumpkin
• 2 sticks of melted butter (1 cup)
• 1 bag of milk chocolate chips*
• *set some chocolate chips to add on top of the muffins prior to baking

Basically, all the dry ingredients (flour, sugar, baking soda & powder, pumpkin pie spice) go into one bowl and you mix together.
All your wet ingredients will go in another mixing bowl (melted butter, eggs, pumpkin) mix together.
Merge the two bowls into one, and mix your dry and wet ingredients together.
Once they’re all mixed, add your chocolate chips and mix together.
Remember to reserve some of your chocolate chips to place on top of your muffins once they’re in the pan.
Scoop your muffin mixture into baking liners in a cupcake pan. Fill the baking liners full to the edge with your batter.
Place reserved chocolate chips on top, and bake your muffins for 25-30 minutes at 350*.

Undoubtedly, these were a hit with the boys and the coaches. Obviously, we served them sub sandwiches, water and some gatorade on the way home as well. We didn’t win the game that night, but they went home with full tummies and hopefully some good comfort food to help ease the pain of losing the game.

Last year in 2021, Dolly Parton came out with a limited edition of Strawberry Pretzel Ice Cream. It sold out in minutes (of course) and I was never fast enough to order one. Ever since then, I had dreamed about recreating my own version of a Strawberry Pretzel Pie Ice Cream. At the very beginning of the Summer, I started working with the recipe to see if I could dupe or mimic what I thought it should taste like.

Surprisingly, once I added the cream cheese to the rich vanilla mix, that’s all it took!

I knew this ice cream would have to taste similarly to what we all love:

• Rich and Creamy
• Salty
• Sweet
• Heavy on the Texture
• Pretty in Color
• Full of Flavor

This recipe can always be doubled depending on the size of the ice cream machine you have. We’ve had this model of ice cream maker, for several years, and to be honest we really need a much bigger size. But I created this recipe for Strawberry Pretzel Pie Ice Cream with this 1.5 Quart maker in mind.

One of the other nice things about this recipe is that you can make it all at once. Some recipes call for you make ice cream in steps, but this particular recipe it’s up to you and what you have time to do!

This Strawberry Pretzel Pie Ice Cream with a cream cheese base, will make you think of the iconic Strawberry Pretzel dessert that many people make in a casserole dish. You will find yourself loving both the casserole and this ice cream version, equally.

RECIPE:

• 1 cup of crushed Pretzels
  3/4 cup of purred strawberries
  1 Tablespoon of Strawberries Preservers
• Teaspoon of lemon juice
  1 cup whole milk 
• ¾ cup granulated sugar 
• 2 cups heavy cream 
• 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
• 1/2 block of cream cheese – soften really well
  
  Instructions:

In a gallon zip lock bag crush the pretzels with a rolling pin or whatever you have on hand. Set aside.
Using your blender: puree the rinsed strawberries along with the strawberry preserves and lemon juice together.
You basically want to pulse it lightly. Allow it to sit for a few minutes to create more juice. Set aside.
Grab a large mixing bowl combine your milk, sugar and heavy cream and mix with a mixer or whisk together.
Add your very soften cream cheese to the mix. (You may even melt it in the microwave if needed.)
Mix in your vanilla extract to the creamy mixture.
One mixed together, pour your creamy mixture into the ice cream maker bowl.
Pour your pureed strawberries into the ice cream maker bowl on top of the creamy mixture.
Lastly, pour your crushed pretzels into the ice cream maker bowl.
Turn on your ice cream maker and mix until it is thickening and becoming ice cream in texture.
Approx 10-15 minutes.
Pour into a container and store in a freezer for at least 3 hours or overnight.
Serve and enjoy!!!

Anytime you can add fresh fruit to your recipes, I always think it takes it up a notch in presentation and taste! Let’s just say, the taste of this combination in the ice cream form is simply amazing! If you love strawberries you may also like these recipes:
