Be sure to thank a veteran and remember those servicemen and women lost in wars of yesterday and today. Memorial Day is coming up and many people are traveling in observance of the holiday. Along with many stores and other businesses, our community’s front office will have altered hours in observance of the Memorial Day holiday.

How are observing Memorial Day? Thank a veteran here in Sandy Springs.

Our office will be closed all day on Memorial Day Monday. Weekend hours and the hours the Friday before the holiday weekend will be the same. What veterans have made a difference in your life? Many of our parents and grandparents have served in the armed forces. Today, Many people’s children and other relatives and friends have or are currently serving.

Take time to reflect on what has gone into making this country great. Register to vote in local and national elections so your voice can be heard.

Enjoy Community Events at The Preserve at Dunwoody

Here at The Preserve at Dunwoody Apartments, we love putting together community and resident events! Our staff enjoys meeting new residents, making new friends in Sandy Springs, and watching our residents get to know each other. Yesterday, May 10, we had a Tupperware party and many residents came and ordered new things for their kitchen!

When we have residents or staff members whose families may be selling useful and creative things like jewelry, Tupperware, wrapping paper for the holidays, or others, we’re excited to share it with the community!

If you are a resident of The Preserve at Dunwoody and couldn’t make it to the Tupperware event, there will be catalogs and order forms in the office for the next two weeks! Be sure to stay connected with us so that you can be kept appraised of all of the monthly events happening here at the community!

Pool Hours at The Preserve at Dunwoody

We’ve been posting about our beautiful pool being unofficially open here at The Preserve at Dunwoody Apartments! Residents have been splashing and playing and more are eager to get in the water to cool off after school or work.

Remember, if you are a resident at our community, be sure to bring your pool pass with you when you enter the pool areas and always keep in mind the pool rules posted clearly. Encourage your children not to run or dive. We can’t wait to hear kids playing games and enjoying summer, please help them to do it safely! Also, the hours for both pools are 10am to dusk, so keep in mind that they will be closed after dark.

what are your children’s favorite games to play at the pool? Do you prefer to go earlier in the day or wait until the afternoons? We’re so glad that summer is finally just about here and we can open our pools for our residents! Please call out office if you have any questions at 888-318-6977.

The Atlanta Jazz Fest Will Energize You

Jazz is an Atlanta staple and residents of Roswell, Sandy Springs, and The Preserve at Dunwoody Apartments, love jazz music. Whether it be the strains of jazz from the 30s and 40s, or the more contemporary artists of today, the city is alive with jazz during the month of May.

31 Days of Jazz, presented by The 35th Annual Atlanta Jazz Festival, has been in full swing this month. venture out to different locations throughout Atlanta to listen to live jazz. Memorial Day weekend, May 26 through the 28 will be the Atlanta Jazz Festival itself, at Piedmont Park. Atlanta is just a 20 minute drive (or short MARTA ride) from Sandy Springs.

Indulge in your love of jazz by seeing performers including Kathleen Bertrand, Roy Ayers, Tito Puente Jr., and many many more! What sort of emotions does jazz evoke in you? What other outdoor festivals in the Atlanta area are you excited to attend this summer season? The weather has been perfect!

Sandy Springs Events: Memorial Day Jam

Memorial Day is May 28, and Sandy Springs residents, including those at The Preserve at Dunwoody Apartments, are getting ready to celebrate our military and its veterans. All are invited to join Sandy Springs at the Memorial Day Jam, at Heritage Green.

Enjoy live music from Atlanta Rhythm Section and Wet Willie with special guest Tommy Talton. Purchase tickets now to celebrate by enjoying great Southern rock while meeting new friends in Sandy Springs! There will be Memorial Day activities for the whole family there as well.

Memorial Day is a special day commemorating our veterans, living or passed, and the courage and bravery they displayed while defending America in wars across the decades. Wave your American flag high and be sure to put on sunscreen when you attend this joyous outdoor event in the park. After the celebration (or before) picnic outside and thank the veterans in your life, whether they be family members or friends.

Enjoy Great Camps for Kids and Adults Near Sandy Springs

Kids love summer camps and though many camps are filled for the summer, places like Camp Scene, in Decatur, are still taking registrants! Hurry before the spaces are filled. Also, Camp Scene is registering for after school activities for the next school year! They are a great place for your child to have fun and unwind. In nearby Duluth, the GTA Karate Family Martial Arts Center offer great karate classes for children. They boost self-esteem and self reliance!

Adults at The Preserve at Dunwoody Apartments like taking classes and participating in fun summer activities as well. Enjoy boot camps at places like FitWit and other workout organizations! Work out outside and meet new friends in the area.

Sandy Springs and the surrounding area near The Preserve at Dunwoody Apartments has many great restaurants, places that would make for a great Mother’s Day lunch or brunch. While children are hand crafting gifts for their mothers and grandmothers, aunts, and other matriarchs, you can take your mom to a nice breakfast or brunch in the area, or travel to Atlanta.

The Flying Biscuit Cafe and Bagel Palace are great places with great food for breakfast and brunch. Treat your mom to a nice meal while you catch up on each other’s lives and make plans for the future.

Come out and enjoy the Dogwood Art Festival held every year in Piedmont Park located in Midtown Atlanta. Its an amazing collection of art for sale from all over the US. All different mediums. Not to mention great food and beverage vendors. Also on Sat. night there will be a FREE concert starting at 7:30. Traffic and parking can be a bear so I would use Marta. Take the North Springs train to Midtown, Piedmont Park is 4 blocks east on 10th Street. See you there.
