What have we been doing?

So its nearly been 2 weeks since Penny died, but we are starting to recover.

We haven't been doing a tonne this week, mainly just sleeping, eating and tormenting each other. We have 6 chickens living with us (not actually in the house, luckily) There are 3 super fluffy ones that look that they would be really good to eat but apparently we are not allowed to eat them because they're 'special' Then there are 3 red ones that are a big mangy and have apparently had a hard life. They came from a battery farm in Orini. They are however really good layers and definitely deserve a better life.

The other day all of the chickens got let out of there enclosure. I went out and had a look and for no reason got told off all the time because apparently, I looked like I was going to eat them. I totally wasn't going to!

I and Paterson are on medicine at the moment, because our stomachs have been sore. I personally hate having the syringe poked into my mouth then the orange flavoured liquid squirted into my mouth, slowly. However, Paterson LOVES! the medicine. The other day mum was giving her the medicine and Patty stole the syringe out of her hands and put shoved it down her own throat. She then proceeded to chew the end of the syringe. Mum is now annoyed because she can't get the syringe onto the medicine bottle! My sister is a very talented cat.

For Christmas mum got some really cool pieces of art from aunty Grace. Grace is really talented and had drawn pictures or me, Penny (RIP), Paterson, Wilson (our rabbit brother), Charlotte, Lola and Molly (our guinea pig sister). They look so similar to us and mum loves them. we love them too. Thank you, aunt Grace.

How did we feel when Penny died?

"I was very upset when I found out that Penny had died. Penny was like my second mum. She looked identical to me which sometimes was challenging but the majority of the time it was awesome. Because we looked so similar we had a special bond she always looked out for me in many ways. Sometimes she would fight with me but I didn't take it as a sign of anger but as a sign of love. I am truly missing Penny and her sleuth-like personality"

"When I found out that Penny died it was a shock, I was super upset and heartbroken. I have known Penny for 1 1/2 ish years and she is amazing. She didn't like me and Paterson at first, but eventually, she came around and loved us so much. As Patty said she would occasionally fight with us, she loved us so much that we never took it to heart. Penny was truly amazing and we are missing her dearly"

Some sad news

We have some very sad news, Penny had died.

On Sunday morning Penny was hit by a car and died instantly. This is very hard for us to process. We are all very devastated, but we have decided to keep on writing this blog, except we have become the 2 p's in the pod.

Please continue to read our blog, it will be full of memories of a penny over the next few days.

'Thursday Thoughts' Review of Black Hawk cat food

This weeks 'Thursday thoughts' is going to be a review on our food-Black Hawk Chicken and rice.

Flavour:

Chicken and rice

Flavour Coming through: Oh my dogs! The flavour is amazing, but it could come through a bit stronger. I love to have a good old chicken and with the black hawk chicken and rice you do but it does taste like it has been dead a few days.

Appearance: The appearance of the food is stock standard. Round and brown coloured. One day I would love a bright pink food.

Texture: The texture is AMAZING! We I gobble it up in my mouth the flavours melt away on my tongue, my taste buds gobble them up and then yummy gooey inside of the biscuit slivers down my throat into my always ready stomach

Smell: It smells amazing. When we first bought the black hawk I and Paris broke into the bag because it smelt so amazing.

Left feeling full after 1/4 cup: Yes definitely. The good thing about black hawk is that we don't eat too much. Once we have finished out 1/4 cup (if we finish it) we are full as a bull and am not constantly searching for food.

Left wanting more: Yes definitely, only if we weren't so full!

I hope you go out and buy some black hawk cat food, it is truly delicious and really nutritional.

Why the letter P?

Why the letter P?

If you haven't noticed already our names all start with P. Today I'm going to share with you about why this is.

Let's start with my name: Penny.

When Mum, Dad and Rose moved into the house that I used to live at they decided to take me as their own because I didn't have a permanent owner. I wasn't microchipped and my vaccines weren't up to date. They kindly took me to the vet and sorted this out. I was micro-chipped under the name Penny. There is no real story behind the name Penny, except that it suits me and I love it!

However, Paris and Paterson's stories are a bit more interesting.

Where are Paris and Paterson from?

Paris and Paterson were born in Mount Maunganui, Tauranga. They were born in January 2018. In March 2018 Rose and Mum went to the Mount to visit their friends, Meredith and Nathan. The house in front of Meredith and Nathan's cat had just had a litter of 5 kittens. The kittens kept coming inside and visiting Rose, Mum, Meredith and Nathan. Rose really wanted another cat (don't know why I am pretty amazing) and Mum gave in. They decided that the should probably take 2 because they were siblings. They decided on a silky black kitten (Paris) and a fluffy tabby one. However, the owners of the kittens didn't want them to take the fluffy tabby kitten, so Rose decided on a black and white one that they called mini Penny because it looked just like me.

How they got their names

Paris

Rose was wearing a black sweatshirt that had the word PARIS written on it. The little black kitten that Rose was holding managed to get underneath the sweatshirt and pop her little head out the neck hole. Instantly, Rose decided that the name Paris would definitely suit the little black kitten that was technically also wearing the black sweatshirt with PARIS written on it.

Paterson

The street that Paris and Paterson were born on was called Paterson street. Rose decided that because Paris and Penny both started with P the name for the fat, fluffy black and white cat should also start with P. She thought long and hard and went through some names: Priscilla, Pam and Porcha but none of these suited. Meredith then as a joke said what about Paterson? Rose thought about it for about 30 seconds and said "YES! Paterson does sound like a name this little ball of fluff should have!"

So, that is the story of our names. Penny, Paris and Paterson

Hello,

I'm Paris, the cutest and most lovable cat you have ever meet, you'll want to steal me. (Someone tried to once, ahh)

I don't look like anything like Paterson (my sister) or Penny, I am black as the night sky with bubbling emerald eyes.

My favourite thing to do during the day is sleep. I don't really like to eat but, I do love to sleep all day then explore at night. My favourite person to hug and sleep with is my mummy (Rose) She is just so huggable and I love her so much that I trip her up all the time!

I also have lots of nicknames but the favorite one is Moomoo which only my mum calls me. I love it so much. I don't really like being called P dogs for obvious reasons. I AM NOT A DOG!!!

Hi,

I am Paterson and I have a super fluffy tail.

I have just turned 2 years old and plan to live for many more years. I look very similar to the grump that is Penny, except I have a cute little black chin!

My favourite things to do are sleep (like all the time)eat food and play in boxes.
Everyone reckons that I am fat (they call me fatty patty, how rude!) but I'm not I just have a lot of furs! Hmph!!!

I don't really like to sleep on anyone but if I do I love to be right up to you, with my chin touching yours. When I'm laying on the couch I stretch out and apparently, sometimes I nearly fall off! 😁

My family has numerous nicknames for me including:

Fatty Patty
P Aterson
Patercakes

But if you ever meet me please just call me Paterson.

Hi,

My name is Penelope (but I prefer Penny) and I am the most elegant cat you have ever meet.

I am nearly 6 years old and am black and white all over. I weigh a very minuscule 4.5kg (approx) and my favourite thing to do is sleep under the covers on beds.

I love to eat food but quite often I vomit it back up with fur due to the amount of food I eat and the way I clean myself. Funny story, the other night I was sleeping on Rose's bed and I decided to vomit all over the end of her bed and leave her a lovely present. I am sure she LOVED it.😁

I live with my Mum, Dad (aka my boyfriend) Rose and a whole lot of other animals including 2 other cats Paris and Paterson (who I am writing this blog with) My favourite person to sit with and cuddle into is my Dad, I just LOVE! to sit on him.

Anyway, this blog is going to be about what Me, Paris and Paterson get up to.
