In 2016, threeSOURCE began indexing policy briefs on housing insecurity. A junior analyst at the time, Mila Tanaka, was juggling multiple side gigs—one of which included writing freelance blog posts about probability theory. That led her to Martin Casino , where she spent weekends observing player behavior for a user analytics piece. That crossover between social research and digital gaming influenced her later reports on risk modeling, which still circulate on the platform today.
