#2: Cinco de Derby Party

Some friends of mine grew up in the south, and always get together to watch the Kentucky Derby. We were all so excited to dress up and watch the fashion… I mean HORSE RACE together. Here’s my thrifted derby outfit:

 Keeping with the themes of bright summer colors, florals and HUGE hats:

– sweetheart neck  floral dress: $5.99
– lavender bow-ed bag: $2.99
– vintage plum high-rise heels: $7.99
– wide-brim sun hat: $1.99

= Party ready for under $20!

The hat and dress accessories are also thrifted: I bought a dress a LONG time ago at Thrift Town that didn’t fit but had a great black bow and rosettes on it. I ended up cutting the bodice (with the rosettes) off the dress, and wrapping it around the top of the hat, covering up the mardi gras mask (that has the GREAT feathers on it). I took the bow off, sewed a pin to the back and now have it as a sweet little add-on to any outfit. TA-DA!

#3: It’s Mother’s Day!

Gearing up for Mother’s Day this past week, Thrift Town had the oppurtunity to do a morning television segment on Good Day Sacramento – outfitting moms for under $40 each! One of the big trends for summer, and the easiest DIY project ever: JEAN SHORTS from high-waisted jeans. This girl, Gully found vintage name-brand jeans (Levi, Old Navy, Gloria Vanderbilt) with high waists, and cut them into shorts for herself & friends.

Juniper James does a lot of thrifty styling and this is some of the
rosy all-thrifted summer love in her closet.

Sofia Vee found ALL of these vintage shoes for a total of $15!

Instagram user ImperfectLight found her very own Fendi bag at Thrift Town!

 Chris Salabao isn’t shy about showing  off his thrifted look. We love it!

 Alexa Judith likes finding nice vintage brands… this is an Escada
polka-dotted blouse that she only paid $7.99 for!

 Angela Smith found 1. A tie dye scarf : $1.99 // 2. Old Navy tee: $1.99 // blue baby doll top: $2.99 // 3. My pressure cooker I had for 12 years blew up on me one day. Shortly after,  I went to Thrift Town and walked by the house wares on my way to the baby clothes. I saw something that caught my eye and lo and behold it was a brand new pressure cooker.

Even better: you can choose to use it as a pressure cooker, slow cooker or just use it as a warmer. I went home and looked it up online and saw that it sells on QVC for $120.00! The Thrift town price was $24.95, but I paid and used my Super Shopper card and got $10.00 off. It truly was a GREAT FIND!

I’d like to think that Thrift Town puts the FUN back in Functional. Finding great housewares is such a gratifying thing: great price & value on something you need. Enojy!

I was wandering around the store looking for items that I could maybe freshen up for my and my boyfriend’s new apartment when I came across this 70s inspired side table/coffee table for only $7.99!

I was so intrigued by the 2 levels and the shape of the legs. I walked away to look at other items, but I was just drawn back to the table. I grabbed it up and within a couple of days I had this beautiful AFTER creation!

First off, I want to tell you what a H-U-G-E fan I am of Thrift Town. I LOVE LOVE LOVE you guys!

My incredible find: An exquisitely gorgeous vintage woman’s Salvatore Ferragamo coat.
It’s a rich raspberry red color and soft unlined wool.

The cut is interesting with raglan-type sleeves that you can roll up.  The buttons have the Ferragamo logo on them.  This coat is a stunner.  The best part — Thrift Town does it again.  It cost me a whopping measly $12.50 (it was marked down half price from $24.99).  WHAT A DEAL!!!  – a new Ferragamo coat can be a couple thousand bucks, not that you could even normally buy this coat because it’s vintage.

It’s so great when a customer comes in, finds something they love, and it also ends up being really valuable. It’s like a double-win. Enjoy your jacket!
