Today is World Autism Awareness Day! As Just Seen on CTV AM!
The well-being of fellow citizens with intellectual challenges or disabilities, like for example autism, down syndrome and many other variations, is a subject which is very close to my heart!

It is important that we look at the abilities and what someone can do, in stead off only focusing on the disabilities! There are many jobs and tasks, which intellectual challenged and disabled people can execute very successfully for companies and business owners worldwide.
As a business owner or CEO of your company, you will be able to support someone in their development and growth as well as very important, in their self-esteem! Next to that, you will be able to create a larger platform of understanding and respect within your organization and workforce regarding the abilities of intellectually challenged employees.

Don’t we all want to feel good about ourselves? Don’t we all want receive acknowledgement and the feeling of being ‘worth it’ in the eyes of society and people surrounding us?

As business owner and founder of Planting Happiness I strongly believe in ‘Practice in what you Preach!’. On top of that as younger sister of a wonderful woman with an intellectual disability, I know first hand how important it is, to provide my sister with a working environment which she feels happy, secure and where she can be proud on the work and things she is achieving in her daily life! 

Although I only started with Planting Happiness (brand under ThruConnections) in October last year, I am actively looking for ways on how I can integrate the valuable skills of intellectually challenged fellow citizens living in our local communities, by providing work and daily activities to them in the nearby future!
