Join ShopElsewhere, a collaborative movement launched by Ogilvy & Mather that encourages creative designers to recommend one other’s products.

Here’s how it works: When a client buys a coral shirt dress from one designer, that dress will have a QR code linked to a product that matches, goes well with the dress but is made by another designer, like a MISCHA bag. The QR code includes a map to the other designer’s studio.

The result is a personalized shopping experience taking a client through the rich and vibrant designer community in a city, based on select products.

What I also love about the idea is that ShopElsewhere offers  a personalized, designer-driven experience along the lines of a high-end department store. In this case, however, the product creators themselves make the selection.

The brainchild of OgilvyAction Hong Kong, they are calling all Hong Kong-based designers who want to get involved. The next phase will connect designers worldwide.

Petit bazaar is a wonderful haven for children in Hong Kong, where you can find a selection of beautiful toys, books, cutlery of all prints and colors, vintage inspired children’s furniture and clothes.

Our favorite Chef Patissiere, Emma Renfrew will be making us special treats to enjoy.

Emma’s passion for patisseries dates back from her time spent in the kitchen with her mother and grand-mother. Emma revisits traditional pastry recipes, making tradition ever so delightful to the palate. She also invents her own recipes, among which we count the poached pear tarte tatin or carmel profiteroles in butterscotch.

Her passion and talent for patisseries has led her to work at The Wolseley in London, and most recently at The Pawn in Hong Kong, where she was the Chef Patissiere.

For the anecdote, Emma is a very good friend of ours. We once met Emma and family for a stroll along the beach front. Emma had mentioned bringing some cake for the children’s gouter.  I half understood what “Cake” meant to Emma, and packed some biscuits in case there would not be enough cake for everyone. Emma pulled out not one, but two incredible chocolate cakes with sprinkles of coco, which we all finished in less than an hour. (and forgot all about our biscuits!)

I should have remembered – Cake is to be taken very seriously in company of Emma!

To share with you some of our designs from the Copacabana collection, here is beautiful Avia dancing to the sound of waves and bossa nova in our Astrud Dress, Azul waves.

We called our dress “Astrud” in honor of Astrud Gilberto, the famous Brazilian samba and bossa nova singer.

This wave print was the original print that inspired us to take you to Copacabana this season.

Astrud is a soft cotton A-line dress with a gathered waistband, a back opening that closes by tying a bow.
And two front pockets to collect sea-shells. Inside voile cotton lining.

One of our inspirations for our Copacabana collection is Edifício Copan in Sao Paolo, designed by Oscar Niemeyer, the late Brazilian architect who beautifully celebrated curves.

I took this photo during one of my trips to Brazil. I love the contrast between concrete and Nature.

The building was completed in 1966.
