In the Butcher's den..

Last night my husband and I were in the Bida'a area and decided to have dinner at "The Bucher's den". A new steak house venture by Ahmed AlBader. The restaurant wasn't too packed as it's still in the soft opening phase. We sat at the Chef's table to avoid the wait, which is a bar area located right in front of the open kitchen. Surprisingly, we rather enjoyed having a front row seat, watching our meals being cooked right in front of us.

We started off with the Wagu carpaccio, mushroom rissotto and shrimp cakes... All were delicious, especially the carpaccio which just melted in our mouths.

For the Main course my husband had the Wagu striploin and I ordered the short ribs. We accompanied our entrees with three sides; Steak fries, onion rings and corn on the cob. The steak was really good, and perfectly cooked. The sides were ok, as the corn was heavily seasoned and dry. The short ribs were super tender but I felt the sauce was a tad bland.

Overall we had a great meal and will definitely go back to try out more dishes really soon ;)

IKEA has great storage solutions to get your home (and life) organized. Two essential home organization wonders that I always go back to buy more of are the Samla boxes and Flyt magazine files. I use Samla boxes all over the house: to store bed sheets, bathroom accessories, electronics, tools, and the list goes on.

One IKEA product I'm looking forward to is the UPPLEVA, which will hopefully be introduced in Kuwait by Spring 2013. It's a genius solution to get rid of TV wiring clutter. See the video below!

"Designer Geoff Tsui, co-founder of design firm 33WILL, created an angular and twisted bright yellow facade. Tsui wanted to give people passing by a small taste of what’s inside the store, and this vibrant architectural element is the perfect way to spark curiosity. Not only did Tsui design the space, he is also the co-founder of Konzepp, along with close friend Willie Chan. One of the most intriguing parts of the store is it’s location. The cool shop is hidden on a small alley, steps below the side street, where it’s discovery would most likely be an unintentional treat of sorts."
