Max Bill from Junghans 34,2mm, mechanical with feminine minimalist lines

The simple and pure lines of the watches by Max Bill whose original design dates back to 1962 are presented here with this glorious model for woman with a diameter of 34.2mm, made by Junghans. Presented here with a black face or white face, we are reminded of graphic themes related to automatic watches for men, yet here in a mechanical version. The white face version of the first is marked with hour indicators for the less minimalist. The hands are very thin and perfectly balanced with the vintage touch.
The black version references the hour indicators with light numbers on a black background. The same idea and same simple and somber lines are present for a timeless elegance. This is the sophistication behind a unique design.

Beautiful with a polished stainless steel body and a back that is autographed by the designer, Max Bill. The movement that animates the Max Bill for women is a mechanical ETA 2801-2 movement, 17 rubies, 2800 alternations per hour, with a set aside for every 36 hours. The glass is toughened and the watch is water resistant.

Max Bill was born in 1908 in Winterthur in Switzerland and disappeared in 1994 in Berlin. He created his sketches for Junghans in 1962.Junghans re-edited the watches with more modern mechanisms but always followed the original designs of Max Bill.

Time Teller Black Metal by Nixon, the simplicity of all steel

The Time Teller simply represents a metallic pendant of Time Teller P that are made glossy and colorful plastic. Here is the Time Teller All Black, all steel and somber with its classic yet urban design, and as always, treated with the Nixon style: moderation, a single tone of black to add style, and treated for resistance, sports, and use. A true value for what you pay and a design that reminds me of classic Seiko models from the end of the 70s. A traditional subject, with an air of vintage brought during a modern time : a watch in the purest essence.

A solid Nixon buckle on a steel bracelet in the same color tone as the case and the face. 47 mm long (from one buckle attachment to the other) and 38 mm large for the face. A watch made of stainless steel, all black and waterproof up to 100m.

Horological Machine 4 Thunderbolt, The New OVNI from MB&F

MB&F is customary for OVNI watchmakers. Maximilian Büsser, founder and designer of the Swiss brand, loves to think outside the box, to rethink each mechanism and its function, and to create a new, unlikely design to express each movement and function. Here we see the Horlogical Machine N°4 Thunderbolt (HM4 Thunderbolt), which took 3 years to make and is made of more than 300 pieces, all made to measure and specific to this truly unique model.

Its curves are clearly inspired by aeronautics. 2 “reactors” sit enthroned in the place of the case to suggest and show the hour iwth 2 “hublot” indicators. (That’s right! The Horlogical Machine tells time, even if we don’t see it at first glance).

One of the surprising elements is the crystal that glimpses at the mechanism of the HM4on the whole circumference. a crystal the size of a face, made to measure, to participate in the shape of the watch and create an element of transparency. This crystal takes more than 100 hours to make because of the size and shape (crazy no?).

Everyone can appreciate the beauty of the watch (or not),that you’ll either love or hate, but never be in the middle about. As for me, I find it interesting and stunning, but I am a passionate of this universe and industry. The MB&F team has a clear idea of what they give off with this piece and what others take from it, a beautiful performance piece from a unique universe. That it is.

The Fader, a lively steel by Nixon

The Fader is part of Nixon’s new trends, simple and contemporary shapes, masculine, raw materials, somber yet with well thought out touches of color. The Fader’s face is made of steel, slightly abrupt with its octagonal drawing and original winder button at 9h00. This watch has an urban sober look that works well with any style, casual or elegant; it can also be sportive due to its steel face, reinforced case and polyurethane bracelet that is securely fastened.

The face also adds sobriety with a black design deeper than the red hour indicators that are found in a circular motion around the face. The hands have an aerial feel to them, reminding us of aeronautics with their sharp and crisp look. The interior of the face is made up of black horizontal lines with a contemporary look that gives this watch its modern appeal. An urban classic without doubt.

Nixon has been created during summer 1997 by Andy Laatset Chad DiNenna. Nixon represents the fusion of the past and talents of its founders,Laats is a mechanic engineer and a great snowboarder, Di Nemma is the famous Californian surfer, a mediatic figure and a passionate of watches. Together, they have build a strong identity and legitimacy within extreme sport. The Nixon Watches are fine design pieces with a great quality, All models are waterproof and resistant with a modern design. Really a great value brand.

What is Menlook ?

At last a small introduction on our current new and handsome project (currently in the works): Menlook.com. Menlook is a “unique store for men,” a store in which you will find a rare selection of men’s clothes and accessories with several brands to choose from. The concept doesn’t end there but evolves even further, which we wish to keep secret for the moment. Menlook is an idea created by Marc, Marc who also launched the brand Estime and we are working together on this handsome project, having both thought up its positioning and concept. The project will be run by David who is part of the team in Paris. The website will be put into place by our friends at Newquest. As for me, I mostly worked on the concept, branding, and the graphic design part.

The kick off of the website is soon so stay tuned. The temporary homepage is here and the facebook page is ready for your viewing. For the launch, we have integrated a traditional shop with a strong concept, and a 2nd version will launch in time for October with lots of new surprises around various services offered, practical and innovative, all focused on men and their special needs. Please note that there is also a beautiful physical store that is already opened in Paris at 61 de la rue Bonaparte in the 6th arrondissement. We look forward to your visit.

Teasing : The iPhone version of Timefy by NewQuest

It’s almost here, the iPhone version of Timefy that is in the process of being conceptualized by Newquest, driven by Yann and Cyrille, our web gods. Below is a small teasing video created by Yann to give you an idea. It’s not an application although it looks that way, but it’s a web app. By being added to your iPhone, you can view Timefy just like on a computer with a focus on displaying large pictures of watches. You will also be able to access your account in order to track your orders or place/modify orders.

Tryo at Project Watches by Alex Garzon

Project watches, aka “watches by architects”, is a small American company that releases design watches that are very inspired by the Black Reveal, one of the ”confidentials” that has the most sucess at Timefy. The Tryo is a concept designed by Alex Garzon : 3 hands that intersect one time every hour to create one single hand. Separations and Reunions build a philosphy on the present moment, which we often find with watches by Project watches. We appreciate this point of view with it’s permanent reminder of Carpe Diem.

The aesthetic of the Tryo is very simple, minimalist, defined by centered circles that give it its bold character. 3 bars are printed with that of seconds’ one red, bringing the prefect balance to a watch with a unique graphic signature. The Tryo is water resistant up to 30m, and comes with a handsome bracelet made of soft leather. Case made of stainless steel.

Let’s take time to look back on Timefy after 7 months of running at warps speed and a lovely yet intense jog at the moment, look out for more posts on the blog and this special glance backstage to help evolve the website as well as our services for you.

A look at the last 7 months,
Some points will be written about in more detail a bit later.
After a great start in November and December thanks to all our planned intermediaries and your word of mouth (thanks to you all!), January was a calm month but one that would only give a nudge to bigger and better times. Everything really took off in February with a great month and an important growth in sales, which has been the case ever since, from one month to the next. You have really embraced our concept and watches with a great welcome, and so a huge thanks to you all for your trust and the buzz that you have created in wearing our watches or talking about us. We have gone beyond our set goals in terms of turnover and trends are positive. The past 7 months have allowed us to test and validate a concept, the first step is conquered but the big challenge lies ahead with the evolution of the concept and the website with you, in order to bring you a sexy and handsome offer with top of the line service.

Beautiful Watches?
We’ve got plenty beautiful watches from 75 different models to 11 different brands the day of the launch, and today way have 167 for 21 brands and we intend to keep up this rhythm, always on the same axis, with the same typology for watches: rare watches that are trendy yet alternative, sexy and qualitative. Watches by designers, architects, urban and one for every mood. Our goal is to provide a unique offer of watches that serve a higher purpose than their typical functions with interesting concepts, history, and design. For us, the expectations we hold from watches are not focalized on the watch’s function of the hour but that it becomes a handsome accessory with which we hold a special relationship. This would be equivalent to the type of relationship one could have with a very high end watch, but it is also possible to have it with accessible but rare watches, one’s second or third pair without buying anything cheap.

The big points since the beginning of the year.
- First and foremost is YOU: the community around Timefy that has grown and now makes for more than 3000 fans on our  facebook page! A huge thanks to you all!
- Efficient rhythm of online updates since the beginning of the year with an ongoing desire to write more and post more qualitative images, and we intend to evolve the photo shooting process to bring you even better quality.
- Delivery and services: we have been focused to bring you the best service possible: everything is in stock, same day deliveries for orders placed before 11:30am, shipping delay never late, answering questions in a timely manner (weekends included). With all of these positive elements, we wish to be a boutique close to you that grows and evolves with your needs and feedback, as would be the case of a neighborhood boutique.
- The launch of an English version in March. Thus, sales have taken off. Keeping in mind our friends from Belgium who participate on a regular basis in the community, several orders from the Swiss, Spanish, English, and German…outside of Europe, we have also expanded with a presence with clients all over from Japan to the US.
- Contests, and more contests. One contest per month with watches to win and a participation that grows from month to month. This is the prefect meeting place in the beginning of each month, and we intend to keep this going.

And what else? Current projects of course.
- Great projects are currently in the works, others will soon start. More information to come soon
- The first is the birth of a new e-commerce website initiated by Marc. A light launch in July and the official website to launch in September.
- A surprise by Newquest, run by friends Yann and Cyrille. The surprise will be revealed by the end of the week.
- Huge news for Timefy that will take place this summer. You’ll see this live so that you can really see the adventure. You’ll love it!
- Our offices are moving in 1 week to the south. Our team is also expanding, and we have a presence in Paris.
- And a part of our collectionwill soon be available in Paris.

Time Teller P Drab, for the urban animal in you

The Time Teller P by Nixon also has every right to it’s own Drab version. Drab, is a bluish kaki with a matte finish for the entire watch, while the other Time Teller P watches are all glossy. A strong urban look for yet another great success for the brand. Nixon is living it up and doing quite well, confirmed yet again with this latest model.

This watch is all in the same harmonious tone aside from the 2 hands that bring a little spice with their bright blue color and provide a lovely allure. Surely a best seller for the urban people who love a hint of sobriety. This beauty is up to 50m waterproof as all the Time Teller watches, resistant, and with quality finishing in the tradition style of Nixon.

Watch 3 from Steven Götz, a limited edition designer’s watch, with only 100 models made

Steven Götz is a graphic designer based in Bern, Switzerland. Within his work, he has drawn several models for one of the most referenced Swiss brands in the world of architectural and design watches: Pierre Junod, styles that will soon be available at Timefy. With the Watch 3, he launches a solo limited edition of one of his designs, always in collaboration with Pierre Junod.

The Watch 3 brings forward the concept of Reveal de Project Watches : the hour is shown on a large black hand, and thus we are focused on the present time in order to keep in mind the importance of the moment. An epicurean watch for certain and a crazy keep for others, those who may forget to live and take advantage of the moment.

The Watch 3 is a rare watch, very rare. Made with only 100 numbered models, this watch was made without fault in Switzerland by Pierre Junod. Pierre Junod makes watches with Swiss components (except for the leather bracelet). Quartz ETA movement. These watches are 3ATM water resistant. The leather bracelet is “eco-friendly“, tanned without any chemical products. Sapphire, difficult to scratch glass.

Above, Steven Götz, designer of the Watch 3. Steven is based in Bern where he has created his own design studio. His graphic universe is uncluttered, focused on the feature of ergonomics, an approach that we recognize in the Watch 3.
