Augmented reality is closer to the real world. Its merely an extension of reality using the cutting age technology. Have you ever thought of wearing a glass that can give additional details of what you see. For an example when you are walking through a shopping mall, you'll be able to see, prices and descriptions of the items that you look at.

When you look at a house or a building the glass can identify the location and show the owners name, perhaps it can even show if its for rent.Think about connection it to faceboook.Just by glancing at a person we can see public information that he want to share like, Age Sex Location, his contacts hovering over his head, an illusion created by the glass itself. Will this be a reality? Its already is,In the Netherlands last month, a company called SPRXmobile released a mobile browser, Layar, that lets people see pieces of this new info-reality through their phone screens. Soon people will be looking for phones with AR( Augmented Reality). See the video of the mobile at work here [http://layar.com/]

But it has gain popularity recently for being able to detect swine flue spread. The theory is simple, when a country is hit by a flue pandemic, number of searches on that keyword goes high. So i wanted to check which computer language is popular Java, vb.net, php , C#. Result shows sharp drop in java searches but its still at top. PHP still consistent with a little drop. v.net and C# still at the bottom parallel lines though. By looking at the sharply droping line of Java, It may even drop down to the level of php in next few months. click on the the screen shot

This is not entirely new concept. There are even prototypes of computers that can be controlled by humans, just by thinking. Some Japanese scientist created a brain-computer interface which could be used to control Second Life. Computers are changing the way we evolve. It has become part of our evolution. I won't be amazed to see a windows version that could be controlled by thoughts within 5 years. Because few years ago when i was watching Minority report , i was baffled by the touch interface that they used to catch criminals. That was less than 10 years ago, now surface computing is a reality, release of windows7 will make it a house hold fact.

I think Windows Mind TM operating system will be ready in 2015. But what will this lead to? Eventually computers will be part of our body. We will be able to enhance our brain capacity by inserting chips or perhaps interfacing with external device. Latter is more practical. Have You ever though of downloading an instruction manual or a book in to your brain. These technologies are within our grasp. Few more years and good world economy will make it a reality. Having computers too close to our life (brain) might even have negative effects on us. The brain computer interface acts by responding to the tiny electric signals generated by the human brain. These signals then be transferred to the computer as a command. What if someone could reverse the functionality of the device and make enough brain waves to control our brain. That means hacking our brain. Some experiments proved that simulating brainwaves outside the brain could in fact affect our body. In the future man may even use artificial organs like hands and legs, simply because its better than the natural ones. These devices could be easily hacked by an intruder. A hacker might be able to gain access to a thought controlled arm and commit a murder. There could be days we here " My brain was hacked I plead not guilty" in court rooms.

A guy approached me and started talking to me in a friendly manner. They queue was very long. Both of us were waiting to get a chance to hop in for a jumping seat (seat in the middle of the bus). As we got in luckily some one offered us a seat near the drivers . Soon he became very friendly and talkative. We started talking about jobs we do. He told me that he was an engineer. And soon the discussion turned in to economy of Sri lanka. Then it turned in to politics and war. We both enjoyed exchanging our ideas. After about 2 hours we were still talking, it was nice to have him, I didn't even notice the hectic traffic jams.

Then we were nearing the Vendol Factory its some where along the kandy-colombo road." Look at that bend, the incident i'm going to tell you happened in 1980's , there was not even one house in the vicinity of this area" He said."Me and my wife was driving towards Colombo, it was close to midnight" he took a deep breath. He was speeding when his wife pointed to a man walking along the road carrying a child. He observed blood on his clothes and the child seemed to be unconscious. The cilds head rythemically jerking as he was walking."She must be sleeping oruncosciuous,Lets give them a lift, must be going to the hospital" his wife said. He shifted from forth gear to the third gear to slow down the car.Man raised his hand to signal that he needs a ride. "Don't stop keep driving" Suddenly his wife cried. It made his step on the gas. As he was accelerating the man jumped in front of his car. It was too late to brake. The car stopped with a loud thud . They were shaking with fear, "We killed two people", they thought."I stepped out of the car expecting to see two dead bodies in front" He said. But he' couldn't see anything. Then he took his flash light searched under the car, arround, still nothing. He stopped a passing lorry and explained the incident to them. They all searched the nearby area for any trace but they couldn't. This made him to believe the unbelievable that it was a ghost. I asked him why his wife told him not to stop." She has seen many hands when the man raised his hand to stop the car" He said. This made me think of the paranormal incident reported all over the world. I have seen many documentaries in discovery channel about ghost hunting. May be there is a truth behind all of this.

You can search 7 million patents. I did few searches and managed to find some interesting patents, like the patent for Underwear?? issued in 2001 ,holly shit are you paying the royalty fee? :-) as I remember I was wearing Underwears long before that . I could even find the patent of steam engine, tooth brush and flying machine of wright brothers. One of the strangest was the device which cools infants Brain. This is how it works.

"A device for cooling an infant's brain includes a cooling liner that may be sandwiched between an outer padded cap and an inner elastic liner. The device fits closely over the infant's skull and is cooled by a recirculating cooling fluid passing through a serpentine conduit. One application for the device is to cool a newborn infant's brain that has suffered a hypoxic shock.".

Strange isn't it? Patent is a method of preserving intellectual property. Prevent people from stealing someones hard work. But is it doing good to the humanity? We need to rethink again. In some situations patent laws are doing the opposite, some times it goes beyond its limits. Patenting the Underwear, my god, people come to your senses!

The blessed one accepted it and a tremendous earthquake shocked the whole world. Seeing this Ven Ananda Approached Lord Buddha and asked for reasons for an Earthquake to rise. The the lord replies.

"This great earth, Ananda, is established upon liquid, the liquid upon the atmosphere, and the atmosphere upon space. And when, Ananda, mighty atmospheric disturbances take place, the liquid is agitated. And with the agitation of the liquid, tremors of the earth arise. This is the first reason, the first cause for the arising of mighty earthquakes." read the other 8 reasons....

This was preached by Buddha more than 2500 years ago, when people believed the world was actually flat and the sun and the moon were gods. It was recently that scientist found out the continents are floating on top of a liquid and this infact cause the earthquakes.

Read The whole sutta translated to english...by Sister Vajira

You Are Missing Something

Chrome is the worlds best browser. Its super fast and simple. Its JavaScript engine can do magic, just run this demo in your favorite browser and then in chrome. You'll see the difference. Tabbed browsing has never been so easy. There is incognito for your dirty works(Get full feature list). I feel relaxed when i use chrome and always wonder why its market share has not gone up as expected. Its a product of Google for gods sake and yet fails to inspire people. Microsoft Internet explorer still in top with 69% Firefox 21% and Chrome barely past 1%. Its sad to see a good product in the other side of the scale. May be people really don't care about performance or security. They just go after the brand name. Or is it because they likes to stay with the thing that they are used to.Or its just because that they don't know about the altrenative. Perhaps its because Microsoft Internet explorer is good in copying stuff. They copied every good thing from every browser. But i don't feel like using IE any more. The only good thing i noticed about IE is that it's font rendering, may be you have already noticed. Fonts are beautifully rendered in IE7, Thumbs up for that. Google chrome deserves more attention from the public. Firefox emerged when IE was pestering its users with virus and malicious softwares. But still it could only grab 20% of the market share. Firefox contribution in curbing out the Internet violence can't be forgotten. It was an innovative browser at that time. Will chrome be able to do that, Only time can tell. My money is on chrome side. Help to evolve a Google product by downloading Chrome here.

The guy would think that he's actually living. for an example when you see a beautiful person on the street your eyes generate electrical signals into your brain which eventually trigger chain of chemical reactions in your body. What if someone could remove your eyes and plug some cables and generate the exact electrical signals, will it makes the same feeling. if they could do it to your eye they can do it to your whole body. Could we be living in a Vat right now? possibly yes.In my opinion we will never no,unless we step out of the vat somehow. Perhaps people like Buddha new this scenario and wanted us to move out of the vat. Maybe thats why he declared this world as impermanent , non real place. Is nirvan is getting out of the vat? The movie matrix explains this phenomenal thought in greater detail. But how could we know that we actually live in this world we see.

Its a movie of humor, love & sadness. Awesome Music is a creation of A. R. Rahman, This won the golden glob awards for its music. Its a story which cross sections the whole society of India. In a country where you can find people who play cricket on a runaway, or jump straight in to a pit full of human feces just to get a chance to see Amitabh Bachchan in person. It's in the movie, but it won't be hard to find an actual incident. People in India do stranger stuff for cricket and movie stars. I lived in India for few years, found this movie is so close to its heart. Its about a kid who grows up in the slums becoming a millionaire and his fight to win his true love. He gets a chance to participate in a TV show which offers millions to the winners. To his surprise he finds out that he had known the answers to all the questions. It lands him in jail, police suspects him of cheating. The story unravels when he explains how he found the answers. And he never gives up his fight to find his long lost childhood love. The movie is worth watching to the last minute and the music is so great.
