We've put together a short video walkthrough on creating event calendars on Timeshout. This video will cover the basic principles of creating calendars as well as explore all the available options.

We'll go over the different ways to present events, namely as a list, monthly grid or week view as well some of the advanced features such as featured events.

We've been crazy silent for a while and that's because we've been crazy busy! We've added a lot of goodies and I am going to take a moment here to give you an overview. Over the next few weeks we'll be blogging about each of these features in detail including a few upcoming video tutorials.

Event booking

That's right. You can now sell event tickets on our site using Paypal. You can create pretty complex ticket rules such as the date range a ticket type is available, quantities available, whether a ticket type (i.e. children) depends on another ticket type (i.e. adult) and so on.

Featured events

Thank you Lise from Sedona Concierge Services for this suggestion! You can now place select events at the top of your calendars to be shown no matter what dates are used. Up to 3 out of a total of 10 selected events will be shown - this is a great way to promote future events and is also an opportunity to monetize your calendar.

People pages

We have event pages and venue pages - we've now added people pages - these are for you to create profiles for performers including bio, photo galleries, etc... When you create an event you can easily add the name of the performers - if their page exists these will be autosuggested to you else they will be created on the fly - you can then edit them later if you wish.

Week format

You can already show your calendar as a list view - the default - and as a standard month grid view. We've added week view which is great for things such as yoga studios.

Event sharing

This feature comes in multiple forms. An event owner can now recreate their event on Facebook (and Eventful very soon) as an actual event. In addition, visitors to your calendar can also share the link to the event to Facebook, Twitter and a lot more. Finally we've also added the ability to easily take an existing event and suggest it to other member calendars.

Developer API and Wordpress plugin

While our API has been around we've been keeping it low key - well we still are but some of the functionality has stabilized a bit. We've made a Wordpress plugin that can be used as a starting point - it's currently available on GitHub for download - this is a work in progress. It currently lets you display a calendar on your site with links to Timeshout for the event details.

Mobile access

We are now mobile! Just point your device to http://m.timeshout.com. Calendars on our pro plans also have mobile access!

And more!

We've cleaned up our interface - especially our event form. We've also added a lot of small features here and there.

Thanks for reading and stay tuned for in detail blogging of these features over the next few weeks!
