How to check IMEI number CDMA mobile phones like Reliance, TATA DOCOMO,MTS

Recently Management provided CDMA mobile to me. While registering asset, portal asked to enter IMEI ( International Mobile Equipment Identity )number. For my old mobile phone I am able to see IMEI number dialing some #*.. command. But this time no luck.I checked on box pack and back side battery , i saw alphanumeric string of id which is not IMEI number. As far as I know IMEI should be 15 digit string.

Searched a bit in Google and found interesting fact. For CDMA phones there is no IMEI concept exists but MEID or ESN concept is there. So if anyone asks about IMEI number of your CDMA phone from Reliance,MTS,Sprint or any CDMA phone in world, give him/her MEID number.

Example MEID : A00000030ACXxxx

MEID is IMEI number of your CDMA phone.GSM phone short code to get IMEI will not work for your CDMA.Check your IMEI by opening back cover of your CDMA phone. Some times it is called as ESN number also. So now you know how to get IMEI number of your CDMA mobile phone .

2 years back applied for ICICI b2 branch free savings account. I am one of the early customer to ICICI b2 product. I will explain what it is, facilities of b2 branch free account,problems faced by me and current status of service. I will clear wrong propaganda up to some extend related to the functionality of online savings account operations.

What is ICICI b2 branch free online savings account ?

Free, no minimum balance required complete internet based savings account. It is not linked to any physical ICICI branch.You can do all operations online. I will explain functionalities that this account offering later.

What you can do with b2 branch free online savings account?

1.It is 24×7, 365 days online service.
2.You can transfer funds from b2 savings accounts to other ICICI and any bank ( NEFT enabled).You can schedule funds transfer.

Problem faced and current service status of b2 branch free account service.

Around 2 years back, service starting days, online portal was filled with software bugs.
1.Unable to update my mobile: First problem faced by is unable to update mobile number.Front end it is taking mobile number but not properly updating at backend. it is considering country code also part of phone number. Due to this I am unable to register any new payee for funds transfer. At that time for staff also it is very new product. After many mail exchanges with screen shots at last dev team fixed that.
2.While registering other banks, drop down menu used to be blank. It should show all banks located the selected city. sent mail to customer care and this time stopped using b2 account.

Current status:
After 1 year, one Sunday just logged in to check still account is there and amount transferred 2 years back still there.To my surprise all problems fixed and my 100 rs became 106/- . From that I am using ICICI b2 savings account as my secondary account. No problems, nothing.

How I am using my ICICI b2 branch free account?

From my salary account —- NEFT — B2 account. From b2 account to other banks and bill payments.I am using ewallet ( virtual credit /debit card) for paying hosting fee and other online shopping. I am using this free bank account for Paypal.

NEFT charges are nil for b2 branch free accounts. DD charges are Nil.

ICICI b2 free online savings account service is now working fine and stable. Give a try and see.

Practice..practice and practice. This is the only mantra to obtain RHCSA Linux certification. So today’s lesson in OPEN RHCSA – RHCSA self study guide related to setting up our lab.

2 Linux systems with network connectivity is NOT enough

Notice: By this time, if you would have assumed that having 2 Linux systems or 2 Virtual Linux servers enough to practice then you are wrong. You should do all of practice in KVM based virtual Linux system not on your physical Linux box. It is one of RHCE certification objective.

PHYSICAL LINUX BOX — install KVM — build 2 KVM Linux virtual machines.

use those VMs for your practice. What ever commands we going to use in our RHCSA certification series, you must execute in those VMs only, not on physical Linux box.

You can use your laptop/desktop with 4 GB RAM [you need to install RHEL 6 as dual boot] or you can use VMWARE workstation 8 if you don’t want to dual boot. My other post about KVM under VMWARE can help you, if you want to use VMWARE.

Solution to run KVM inside Vmware guest nested vm

We can install and run KVM based virtual machines inside Vmware guests.Now using this nested VM method you can practice KVM using your laptop.No need to have dual boot or multiple systems. We going to use this method while building RHCSA lab for our RHCSA self study tutorial series.

I am using Vmware workstation 8 for this purpose. I am not sure about other Vmware products work with this trick.

1.While creating VM, select LSI logic SAS as storage controller.

2.Customize hardware – processor – select virtualize Intel VT-x/AMD-V.

3.Edit .VMX file and append following line.

apic.xapic.enabled = FALSE

Now start/reboot your VM. Now you can install KVM based vms in your VMWARE guest.

I prefer 2nd one. Please note, still many Linux distributions are there where you can use them for RHCSA lab.

Today I am naming our free RHCSA certification preparation guide series as OPEN RHCSA series.While I am preparing for RHCSA, I am writing this series. RHCSA is not like other certifications. It is live system troubleshooting based. You need to study and practice a lot. My attempt is to provide systematic way and material in one place.

There is no prescribed book or material for RHCSA. You need to check official Red Hat documentation,third party books and many web resources. I will update this series timely with material details what I am following.

Today in our RHCSA ( Red Hat certified System Administrator) certification tutorial,will discuss about RHCSA exam objectives,fee and books for reference.

I am assuming that you have at least 1 year Linux admin experience. If you are new to Linux then this tutorial may not that much helpful. But I am sure you can understand what going on here .
