hello everyone,

I gladly announce that I moved my blog to wordpress.com.
The reason is simply comfort and handyness. I just like it when I have all my stuff under one roof. Wordpress does that for me, with a tool named pages, which lets you build a website around your blog. love it :)
the concept of the blogfolio is nothing revolutionary I invented, I have seen many other artists make the move, too.

I got really lucky yesterday.
Sam Bosma was sending some leftover promotion postcards to a few lucky people, and I was one of them. Made my day when it arrived, Sam. Gorgeous piece of art, really appreciate it.

hi guys and gals :)

damn, I got lazy with updating. Have to change that :)
BUT, I finally got access to a scanner (my girl bought one, WIRELESS!!!) which makes the process a lot more comfortable and enjoyable.
So, what have we got today? let´s see...watercolor studies, acrylics, marker, oils, graphite, all from life. jup, that shall be it. Here we go.

hey guys!

alright, finally getting around to post a small update.

lately I have been getting heavily into 3d and motiongraphics, very fascinating stuff.
because of that, I didn´t draw as much as usual though, and tried to wrap my brain around all the programms that are involved. oh man, that takes time, I´m telling ya´.

one awesome fellow I stumbled upon while searching the net for tutorials is the allmighty GORILLA on www.greyscalegorilla.com. Check him out if you are interested in watching cool animations or are looking for help and inspiration too :)

ok, on to the update itself.
two life-sketches from my skellie, one is chalk and prismacolor pencil heightened with gouache, the other is technical pen, which I also have started just recently.

hi everyone,

here is a new painting that is not perfectly finished, but in a presentable state :)
I will work on it some more, when my eyes see the mistakes better and I´m patient enough to rescue the drawing in some parts hehe.
It started as a 10min demo a week ago and looked rather abstract, but today it felt like I could get something out of it... there you go, listen to your gut!

anyway, hope you like it

oh yeah, and a sketch with a similar motif, that let to the bunnypet-painting ;)

here is a small study in my pocket-size sketchbook I use when I´m travelling.
You know the moleskine books? like that, just cheaper and the paper sucks, but what do you do? study of an autoportrait of William Bouguereau, hope I spelled that right hehe
the 50 cent coin (oh, the pun) is for scale :)

and here is an inlay sketch of another russian academy drawing, next phase is rendering, yay.

I need a drawing monkey who makes all the drawing, so I would just do the rendering haha

here is the finished study of a selfportrait of Anthony Ryder, charcoal and white pencil + gouache for the high highlights.

hey there,

ok this time it is all about portraits :)

spending more time on honeing my skills and accuracy with drawing from life and studying the great and contemporary masters, still a bit wonky here hehe. but only practice makes perfect, draw draw draw...

here is a portrait from life, a friend and fellow student was so graciously nice to sit for me and we did this 30min study :) below is a photo of her with the portrait alongside.

then there is some Anthony Ryder study, from his "Figure Drawing" - book.
first is a sketch to work on the construction, it´s woobly I admit hehe, then there is a progress-shot of the final study I just started.

and last but not least, another Ryder study I did in class, pencil on paper.

and another study of a skull, I definately have a favor for drawing these; at least when it comes to studying from life hehe

I will be at a booth of the RSKA, Academy where I´m studying, in the Koeln Messe Deutz the next two days. For every gradutate of the Realschule and Gymnasium here in the Cologne area interested in a creative study this will be pretty informative. Next to talking to people, I´ll demo zBrush via a Beamer hehe, pretty neat.

a new zbrush experiment. It is still WIP, so I´m working on it, fixing here and there.
