Blythe Picknick

On July 5th I met up with some fellow Blythe lovers from Holland & Belgium in a park in Utrecht for a picknick. There were about 45 of us, I never thought we would be with that many people! Everyone brought some nice food and as many dolls as possible. This is what our day was like:

We chatted and admired each others dolls...

We took some pictures of all our dolls together...

There are 191 of them!

Then our geeky side took over (as if having a Blythe picknick isn't geeky enough ;)) and we sorted the dolls by hair color:

All in all, it was a super fun day. It was so nice chatting to people who share my Blythe love, and seeing all those other dolls in person! It totally put me in Blythe buying mood, and I ended up buying myself a new doll once I was back home! More about her later!

Meet Nerys (Cousin Olivia)!

The other day my mailman came to my door with his arms full of packages! It was mainly supplies for my shop, but one of them had that typical "this has to be a Blythe box" shape! And yessss it was my new doll Cousin Olivia!

She even looked good in her box! I love the design with the strawberries and the bow.

And the inside is so cute!

Soooo, let's introduce her! Her name is Nerys, which is Star Trek (Deep Space 9) inspired, which probably makes me a huge geek (I watch Star Trek and play with dolls, many people must wonder what is wrong with me), but I think the name suits her. I had it in my head for a while, and when I saw her I knew it was the perfect name for her.

I even managed to take decent pictures of her, despite the fact that I haven't sanded her yet. With June (Cloud 9 Bowl), that was absolutely impossible! It might be because Nerys has bangs though.

P.S. Don't you just love her skirt?

Cousin Olivia Will Be Mine!

Remember I was thinking about buying Cousin Olivia? I managed to control myself for a while, because my money situation wasn't looking too great, but I got some unexpected funds (thank you tax returns!) so I decided to go for it and buy her!

I'm so exciiiiiited!

I did a little more Blythe shopping actually, I bought some dresses on Etsy today, and earlier this week my package from Minki Dynamite arived. I bought a coat and a cape in her super cute Etsy shop. Pictures of those are coming as soon as the weather & light cooperate!

Blythe Angel & Devil Dress Set

Yikes, it's been a while! I have not been sitting still though! This weekend I made this Angel & Devil dress set!

They are available at Tinylicious on Etsy, as a set!

The tail & wings come off, so the dresses can be worn as normal dresses too. I am so excited about how they turned out!

Cousin Olivia

I have fallen in love with Cousin Olivia! I came so close to buying her yesterday, but I really can't afford it and thus really shouldn't. She is so cute though!

Who is on your dolly wish list? Do you have your dream doll, or are you still longing for that one perfect one (or two, or three)?

I still want Groovy Groove (because she has my hair!) and Rainy Day Parade, but I waited too long and now they are definitely unaffordable! I also love Darling Diva, which is completely out of my price range of course.

Cousin Olivia is afforable though. And the dollar is still low. Maybe I will cave in and buy her after all...

Sweet as though she always seemed, it turns out that she's a dangerous gangster with a gun!

Luckily Police Officer June is just doing her neighbourhood round...

June: "What's going on here?"

Mimi: "Stay away from me, or I'll shoot!"

Mimi dangerously waves her gun around!

Luckily Police Officer June is armed as well, so she knows how to handle the situation.

She manages to force Gangster Mimi on the floor and hand cuffs her.

June: "Time for jail, you dangerous criminal!"

Mimi: :(

Mimi gets locked up for the rest of her life.

And Police Officer June saved Balconyville from a lot of trouble!

Out Of The Blythe Loop

Help! I'm feeling completely out of the Blythe loop. I started my Tinylicious shop and this blog with a whole lot of enthusiam, but the other shop (Tizzalicious) has kept me so busy that I have completely neglected my dollies! Now fall is almost here, along with the crap light that isn't nice for photography, and I feel like I missed "Dolly Photography Season".

What do you when you are out of the dolly loop? Or any loop, for that matter? I just started posting on TIB again, I hadn't done that forever either. I'm a bad bad dolly mommy. My poor June & Mimi must feel so neglected!

June in the Sky

I took some pretty pictures of June the other day, and I thought I'd share them! I always have a hard time photographing her, because her hair is always in the way! If anyone has any cloud 9 bowl hair style tips, they are very welcome!

In other dolly news, I am thinking about buying a new girl soon! More info about that later, I hope!

Blythe Sandmatting: Mimi's Make Over

I sand matted Mimi yesterday! Before I adopted her, she had been spray matted, but there were some imperfections in that, and some parts of her face were still very shiny, so I decided to do something about that.

Like when I sanded June, I used Coolcat's Micro Fine sandpaper, and I stuck pieces of paper in her eye sockets to protect the eyes.

I'm really pleased with how it turned out. Look at her pretty face!

Yikes, I have totally neglected this blog! I have been super busy with my Tizzalicious shop, and I have blogged at Tizzalicious Crafts & Cuteness, but I just haven't had time to do anything Blythe related :(

June in Faaborg

My boyfriend's mom Diana turned 60 today. To celebrate, she took us, and some more friends and family to a hotel in Faaborg, Denmark for the weekend. We had a fantastic time! It really felt like a little vacation.

Faaborg is a very old cute town next to the sea. I took a whole bunch of pictures of course, I shared a few of the town in my other blog, but I had June with me, so of course we went out for an early morning photoshoot when everyone else was still asleep!

Shhh, don't tell anyone you can see the skewer that's keeping her up!

First Sale!

I sold my first item on Tinylicious today! That sure happened a lot faster than my first sale in my Tizzalicious Etsy shop! It took a few weeks before that one started taking off.

It's definitely one of my favorites, so I am not surprised it was the first one to sell! I hope I will be able to find more of those buttons. I want to make more of these, so my girls can have one for themselves too!

Tinylicious by Tizzalicious: Now Open!

I was planning on waiting with this a little longer, as most of you voters suggested, but I made so many new dresses that I feared it would take over my shop!

So I proudly present Tinylicious by Tizzalicious!

I just moved all the dresses from Tizzalicious there, and a few new ones. I will be adding many more over the next few days, so keep your eyes peeled!

Tiny Tutorial: Easy Gathering

When making something that needed to be gathered or ruffled, I always had trouble making it look good and even. Until my mom showed me this little trick!

I made a tiny Blythe dress while photographing this tutorial, but of course it works for bigger things too! Dresses, skirts, bags, anything that needs gathering!

Let's start!

1. Set your sewing machine on the largest stitch.

2. Stitch a straight line along the edge of the fabric. Make sure you leave enough spare thread on both the beginning and the end.

(Step 2)

3. Carefully pull on on of the threads, on one either the beginning or the end of the sewn fabric. As you see, the fabric will start to ruffle.

(step 3)

4. Spread out the ruffles evenly. If it won't let you move the ruffles all the way to the other side, just pull one of the threads on that side as well.

(Step 4)

5. Once you have your ruffles spread out evenly, pin the ruffled fabric to whatever you want to attach it too, in my case the bodice of the dress. Don't forget to pin with the right sides facing each other!

(step 5)

6. Sew the ruffled part to the part you just pinned it too. It's easiest if you keep the ruffled part on top, so you can see if it all goes well, and there are no weird folds you don't want.

(Step 6)

7. If your ruffle thread is showing on the part of your creation that will be seen, remove it with a seam ripper. Because you have used such a large stitch, this shouldn't be hard. If your ruffle thread is on the other side of the seam, where it won't be seen, you can just leave it there.

8. Turn everything right side out. And tadaa! Your gathered creation is done!

Tea Time

It's one of those days it seems. I spent all day sewing, and all I ended up with is 1 dress! Nothing I made turned out good enough, and definitely not good enough to sell. Luckily this dress did. It's available in my Etsy shop now. I love the fabric!

Talking about my shop, I still don't know if I should open another shop or not. Most people who replied and voted on my Crafts & Cuteness blog said it would be best to wait and see how well the Blythe items sell first. I think that's a good idea. So far I haven't sold any of them yet.

Mimi's First Photoshoot

Here I some pictures of Mimi that I took when I took her outside for the first time, back in September 2007!

I remember how weird I felt taking pictures of her outside. I really had to get used to the staring people. In fact, I think I'm still not used to it!

For those of you who have dolls themselves: How do you feel about taking pictures of them in public? Do you get a lot of stares? Does it make you feel uncomfortable, or do you just not care?

Shop Advice Needed!

I need some advice concerning Blythe items in my shop. When I started my shop I didn't think about the fact that maybe it wouldn't be so great to have both my jewelry & accessoiries as my Blythe goodies in one shop.

Now it has come to the point where it is like that, and I'm not sure how much I like it. What do you think? Would it be better to start a new shop for my Blythe items? I'd call it Tinylicious by Tizzalicious, so I'd still have my name there.

I think what bothers me most about opening a second shop is having to market that one too, and the fact that if someone would want something Blythe and something jewelry, it would be hard to combine the order. I could of course state that I can combine shipping if someone would like to order from both shops. But how would I go about that? Tell them I will refund? Or tell them to wait paying and send them a paypal invoice?

Does anyone of you have 2 shops, and how do you deal with that?

Hi! Welcome to Tinylicious!

I am Tizz, a 25 year old girl from Holland. You might know my from my other blog: Tizzalicious Crafts & Cuteness, where I write about crafts, cuteness, fashion and my shop. I used to write about Blythe there too, but I figured it would be best to keep all my Blythe rambles seperate, so they won't bother those who aren't interested in Blythe at all. (Hello boyfriend!)

So yes, a Blythe blog! I will write about my dolls, post many many pictures, and I will show you the latest Blythe creations in my shop.

Now let me introduce my 2 girls!

My Love Mission Mimi:

Mimi arrived here on September 7th, 2997. I adopted her from a far far away land. She seems happy with me though. She was spraymatted and had her bangs cut when she came to me. I love her this way!

And my second girl, my Cloud 9 Bowl June:

June arrived here only a month later, on October 8th, 2007. She came from Australia. I initially fell in love with her stock outfit, which I originally didn't get. I bought her nude from someone who was only interested in the outfit. Look at her cute face though, she's adorable in any outfit!

I managed to get her stock outfit on TIB a few months ago, so now June can be a rockabilly babe again.

I sanded June myself. It was super scary, but much easier than I expected.
