A surrogate mother is a woman who carries a fetus for someone else, who are not able to give birth physically. The surrogate mother has to surrender the surrogate baby to the couple who have hired her.

Modern surrogate involves gestational surrogacy, the couple donate both eggs and sperm. In vitro fertilisation (IVF) is a process by which egg cells are fertilised by sperm outside the body: in vitro. The egg is fertilized in a test tube, and then implanted into the surrogate mother. In this case, the surrogate mother acts almost like an incubator, carrying the child to term for a woman who is unable to do so. Aamir Khan and his wife Kiran Rao have become parents to a baby boy born to a surrogate mother through IVF.

How to change operator, Use Mobile Number Portability

From Today 20 January, 2010, cellphone users in India, will have the facility to switch operators even while retaining their existing number by virtue of Mobile Number Portability or MNP.
Mobile Number Portability (MNP) allows the subscribers to retain their
existing mobile telephone number when they move from one Access Provider to
another irrespective of the mobile technology or from one cellular mobile
technology to another of the same Access Provider, in a licensed service area.
The facility of retention of existing mobile telephone number despite moving to a
new telecom service provider helps the subscriber maintain contacts with his
friends/clientele. Introduction of MNP also helps in increasing competition
between the service providers and acts as a catalyst for the service providers to
improve their quality of service.
2. Through these regulations, the Authority is laying down the basic business
process framework for implementation of MNP in the country.
i MNP facility shall be available only within a given licensed service
area.
ii A subscriber holding a mobile number is eligible to make a porting
request only after 90 days of the date of activation of his mobile
connection. If a number is already ported once, the number can
again be ported only after 90 days from the date of the previous
porting.
iii The subscriber who wishes to port his mobile number should
approach the Recipient operator (the operator to whom the
subscriber wants to port his number). The Subscriber may be
required to pay porting charges, if any, to the Recipient Operator.
iv The subscriber making the porting request is required to have
cleared all the bills issued prior to the date of porting request. He
shall give an undertaking that he has already paid all billed dues to
the Donor Operator as on the date of the request for porting and
that he shall pay dues to the Donor Operator pertaining to the
mobile number till its eventual porting and that he understands and
agrees that in event of non-payment of any such dues to the Donor 3
Operator, the ported mobile number shall be liable to be
disconnected by the Recipient Operator.
v A subscriber may withdraw his porting request within 24 hours of its
submission to the Recipient Operator. However, the porting
charges shall not be refundable.
vi The regulation envisage a maximum time period of 4 days for the
completion of porting process in all licensed service areas except in
the case of J&K, Assam and North East licensed service areas
where the maximum time allowed is 12 days. However, efforts will
be made to further reduce the porting period.
vii Access Providers are required to implement All Call Query method.
viii The Originating operator shall be responsible to route the call to
correct terminating network.

‘Dipping charge’ means the charge payable by an Access
Provider or an International Long Distance Operator, to the
Mobile Number Portability Service provider for dipping of each
message;
‘Porting charge’ means such charge as may be payable by the
subscriber to the Recipient Operator, for porting his mobile
number.
The Per Port Transaction charge shall be Rs.19/-(Rs Nineteen
only).
The Dipping charge is left to mutual negotiation between the
telecom service providers and the respective MNP service
providers.

According to TRAI (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India) guidelines, customers are requested to submit the documents for the re-verification audit process. Hence, we request to submit the below mentioned documents at any of the nearest .... Relationship Centres to enjoy uninterrupted services with ....:

1. Address proof
2. Photo ID proof
3. Passport size photo
Whoever you may be, you will be threatened like this :
In case of non receipt of documents, the Outgoing and Incoming services will be blocked in 7 days and 10 days respectively. The number will be permanently deactivated in 30 days.

If you are a postpaid customer, you will be send a nice big envelope are containing a request (or threat?) for document re-submission.
Don't they get the bill paid every month? Do their stuffs ( most of them are inefficient) maintain documents of customers? Now , the question is, why your service provider is unable to produce your documents to trai, why are they threatening customers?
What happened to all the papers you have submitted earlier ? Sorry to say, but the service provider either threw those out or sold it. They are incapable of maintaining your privacy.

After all these things, they are threatening costomers to re-submit papers. Funny thing is that they do not sent a simple message to acknowledging receipt of your valuable documents. It happens only in India.

There are many references to the significance of the Rakhi festival in history of ancient India and Hindu mythology.
Vritra-Indra
The origin of this festival is usually traced back to the historical incidents of Indra's fight with Vritra-Indra that resulted in Indra's loss. Then, his wife had tied a thread around his wrist and empowered it with divine powers to make sure Indra emerged victorious in the duel that followed.
Poonal/Janyu
On this sacred day, Hindus in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, konkan, Parts of Orissa change their sacred threads (Janayu, called as Poonal in Tamil).
Krishna and Draupadi
Another incident is the one from the epic Mahabharat that concerns Krishna and Draupadi, the wife of the Pandavas. She had torn a strip of silk off her sari and tied it around Krishna's index finger to stop the flow of blood. Krishna was so touched by her action that He found himself bound to her by love. He promised to repay the debt and then spent the next 25 years doing just that. Draupadi in spite of being married to 5 great warriors and being a daughter of a powerful monarch trusted and depended wholly on Krishna.
Krishna repaid the debt of love during "Vastra-Haran"(literally "clothing-theft") of Draupadi. Draupadi's "Vastra-Haran" was done in the assembly of King Dhritarashtra, when Yudhishthir, her husband lost her in gamble. At that time Krishna indefinitely extended her saree, so it could not be removed, to save her pride. This is how He paid his debt towards rakhi tied to Him by Draupadi.
Balarama Jayanti
This is also celebrated as Shri Baladeva birth Ceremony.Lord Krishana's elder Brother Prabhu Balarama was born on this Poornima.
King Bali and Goddess Laxmi
According to a legend the Demon King Bali was a great devotee of Lord Vishnu. Lord Vishnu had taken up the task to guard his kingdom leaving his own abode in Vaikunth. Goddess Lakshmi wished to be with her lord back in her abode. She went to Bali disguised as a Brahmin woman to seek refuge till her husband came back.
During the Shravan Purnima celebrations, Lakshmi tied the sacred thread to the King. Upon being asked she revealed who she was and why she was there. The king was touched by her goodwill for his family and her purpose and requested the Lord to accompany her. He sacrificed all he had for the Lord and his devoted wife.
Thus the festival is also called Baleva that is Bali Raja's devotion to the Lord. It is said that since then it has been a tradition to invite sisters in Shravan Purnima for the thread tying ceremony or the Raksha Bandhan.
Yama and the Yamuna
According to another legend, Raksha Bandhan was a ritual followed by Lord Yama (the Lord of Death) and his sister Yamuna. Yamuna tied rakhi to Yama and bestowed immortality. Alexander the Great' wife and King Puru
According to some accounts, Alexander the Great, the king of Greece invaded India in 326 B.C. He married an Indian lady, Roxana (Roshanak) to cement his relations with the new Central Asian regions. Alexander's wife sent a sacred thread to Porus, asking him not to harm her husband in battle. In accordance with Hindu traditions, Porus gave full respect to the rakhi. On the battlefield, when Porus was about to deliver a final blow to Alexander, he saw the rakhi on his wrist and restrained himself from attacking Alexander personally.

One of the most popular tales that come to our minds when we think of Rakhi is that of Rani Karnawati and Emperor Humayun. This dates back to the medieval era when Rajputs were fighting Muslim invasions. When Rani Karnawati, the widowed queen of the king of Chittor realised that she could not defend the invasion by the Sultan of Gujarat, Bahadur Shah, she sent a Rakhi to Emperor Humayun. The Emperor, touched by this gesture of sisterly love immediately set off with his troops to defend Chittor's honour.

Maruti Suzuki today launched an improved (as they claimed) version of the popular small car Alto, equipped with a K-series, 998 cc engine. This version, called ‘Alto-K10’, comes with improved suspension, new cable-type transmission, superior brake system and more knee-room for rear seat passengers.
The existing Alto had average sales of over 20,000 units every month. Maruti Suzuki expects the Alto-K10 to bring in additional customers.
On the look part it lacs improvisation and it seems that buyers will not like the new Alto K10. It may ruin the popularity of original Alto.
