“Life’s but a walking shadow, a poor player, that struts and frets his hour upon the stage, and then is heard no more; it is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.”

The first proper release from Church of the Undying Bloop, Run / Jump functions almost as a proof of concept recording… two fifteen minute tracks that move through a wide range of ideas and introduce us to a very unique new sound. Mostly improvisational, these recordings seamlessly blend mandolin, guitar, piano, slap bass and Commodore 64 drum beats into a strange sort of folk/chip/hip-hop hybrid.

Run / Jump is available both as a physical cassette tape and as a free download. The cassette tape packaging was designed and printed by Church of the Undying Bloop, produced in a limited edition of seven. It includes an additional thirty minutes of ambient recordings not available elsewhere.

Bear & Walrus’ Image Poems is the spiritual follow-up to their debut album Lake Poems… again written and recorded in just 28 days, again inspired by writings about nature. The sound ranges from chiptune pop songs mixed with baroque orchestrations (“Epigram,” “A Year Passes”) to more free jazz inspired improv experiments (the incredible nine-minute “Two Impressions”).

The fourth and final summer EP from Bear & Walrus, September, 1846 is four songs about transition and transformation. Mechanical beats hold together a warble of synths and strings with the occasional piano denouement, bridging the end of one project with the start of another.

September, 1846 is available both as a physical package and as a $2 download.

“Five years have passed; five summers, with the length of five long winters!”

Bear & Walrus’ debut album Lake Poems is the end result of twenty-eight straight days of writing and recording, a body of work created exclusively during the month of February. Inspired by nineteenth century poetry about love, nature, beauty and death, Lake Poems is a collage of chiptune elements and baroque instruments.

Lake Poems is available both as a physical package and as a digital download. The physical package was produced in an edition of twenty-eight with packaging designed by the band. It features a fold out lyrics sheet, hand stamped compact disc and a letterpressed case with hand watercoloring.

The William Segunda Family Band is a cast of feuding brothers and old friends. Intended as a gift for our mothers and our fathers and our babas, Fat Bearded Christmas is a collection of our favorite traditional holiday songs (as interpreted by us). Some are gentle and sweet with softly flowing flutes and delicate piano lines, others contain twelve minute distorted guitar solos. Our mothers weren’t too into that track.

Fat Bearded Christmas was produced in an edition of 50 for friends and family. It is also available as a free download.

“I was the hero of a brutal father and an indifferent mother, I was the aftermath of that, in this strange room of nowhere I felt and sniffed and peeled at the death of others as I arranged for my own.”

The Gallows Bird’s second, more enigmatic, release, Within Various Constellations presents beautiful instrumental folk songs packed with layered flutes, harmonious glockenspiel and gentle finger-picked guitars. But the sense of place presented by the song titles and packaging is dark and tragic, suggesting that under the surface of these tunes something sinister is lurking under the surface. The slow creep of snare drums and out-of-tune piano over drone minor-key chords over certain songs helps to cement that feeling.

Within Various Constellations was produced in an edition of 45, designed and packaged by the band. It is also available as a digital download.
