TipTile goes live. The signs are clear:

the site is opened to the public

a short promo video is released on YouTube

as part of a pilot with Surface at school children will be creating their own TipTiles using the editor after which they can view and discuss them on the Surface unit

The pilot on a primary school just started today (june 2nd), when children could first get their hands on an actual Surface unit. They had already started using the TipTile editor two days earlier.

We’re interested to see how these children (8-12 yr old) will work with the editor and how their work will be used on the Surface. When the pilot is over they will still be able to view their work on the digital schoolboard in their class room and use it for presentations as an alternative to Powerpoint.

The first release of the TipTile package is scheduled for the beginning of June. By then the Surface version of the viewer will be made available as a downloadable demo and v1.0 of the editor will be presented to the general public.

Soon after that we will release a viewer that will run on other multi touch devices. (We plan on compiling a list of devices that will be supported.)
