to cueva clara, tt and dk stopped for a snack before heading west.stopped at a bodega and munched on a slice of pineapple cake and a donut.tt also checked out an ice cream store before hopping back isleña.the sun was setting and the guests at the inn were enjoying the breeze at the beach.mojito while the sun sets.  tt and dk sat by the pool and ordered drinks. it was nice and breezy with sounds baked another CNY treat.   yup, tt is a historical blogger.  tt always thinks about pineapple tarts when CNY rolls around.  tt read about honey pineapples - sweet baby pineapples - but failed to find do with all those egg whites?  tiptup decided to make kumquat financiers for cny.  sure fits with the theme!  tt used aran's recipe. yum yum!  they were delicious!  tt made these twice.  yup, tt had a lot of egg whites.  also the 1 pint of kumquats is actually enough for 3 batches if you use 1/2 a kumquat per financier.  so tt put whole kumquats in for the 2nd batch.  tt should </summary><link some cny baking.   sugee cake!   tt used rose's recipe.  that's a whole lot of egg yolks!   tt used almond meal from trader joes.   tj's flour includes the skin of the almonds, hence it's not nice and golden.   also tt always refuses to line her springform pans, causing some, ok, quite a lot of butter to leak out.   it was a tad dry but yummy all the same!</summary><link rel="replies"
