<itunes:summary>People in Rideemaliyadda in Badulla district have identified projects in the area that should be given priority for development. The list of such projects was presented at a workshop facilitated by TISL recently for inclusion in the four-year development plan of Rideemaliyadda Pradeshiya Sabha.

Pradeshiya Sabha (PS) chairman, Karu Weeraratna along with other PS members participated in the two-day workshop held in Rideemaliyadda PS office. More than 75 people representing 42 ‘grama niladari’ divisions and officials took part in the workshop.

Former Chief Secretary- Sabaragamuwa and Secretary to the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications, Piyasena Ranasinghe and Consultant to the SLIG, R.M.Rathnayake guided the process.

During the discussion, CBO leaders presented their views on priority areas in infrastructure development in the area. They urged that their views be included in the four-year development plan. It was decided to present the first draft of the plan on the 24th February.

The people urged PS officials that they be kept informed on the progress on the development plan so that they could keep a close watch.
