Sorry readers for a long time I was not able to focous on my most loved hobby writing, reason is that I was working on something new. After all I got that. This small blog is to tell you guys that LOVE is actually is not all about emotions. To be emotional you need not to have, I say you need an Internet connection ! Surprised this is how it works. When Banking on net it was termed eBanking, commerce it was coined as eCommerce, similarly when Motion of thought among different people came to internet it is called eMotion.

This time I want to say that love happens not because we don’t have controll on our heart, its because of some underlying reason which I am going to proof with some mathematical formula and one graph.

The graph looks like some geek type sketch but friends this what we do in our lives. So the story begins now, First we should know what is an Indifference curve, an indifference curve is nothing but a locous where at any point we have a same satisfaction of anything, food, boose or for the matter of fact GIRLS and or BOYS. In the adjoining diagram Curve A and Curve B are such two curves. The assumption here is any point above this curve is actually our desire. Threshold is any point on the curve. So consider this as an indifference curve for your desire to have girlfriend, anything above this point or on the curve is what u want. For example the three point on curve B are all same to you, i.e all three girls are same keeping in mind you have no money constraint.

Now we include the money constraint, a straight line with a constant slope. any point under this curve is what you can spend. Threshold is point on the line. Now considering the first point ( Mrak Red ) , the girl is on the indifference curve but still you cannot date with her as this too high considering your budget, so you reject that option. Again considering the point ( Mark Green ) is again on the indifference curve but since now you dont want to date with this cheap ( I mean not costly ) girl you again landed rejecting this girl. You keep on moving on the indifference curve until you reach the point third ( Mrak Purple ), now this gorl is on the indifference curve and also on you budget constraint graph.

This is the point where you are most likely to get a feeling of love for her. This is the point where u will have enough money to spend on her, go to date, CCD, Barista gifts on some stupid 14 Feb and pay your phone bills. This what I have to say Graphically.

Now considering the above situation mathematically, take your indifference curve as $, i.e

f(x) = $ —- eq(1)

consider your budget constraint to be a function g(y). Now from the graph, the probability of developing a feeling for any girl is at the point where the budget line touches the indifference curve. Mathematically we say that first derivate of the indifference curve is equal to the budget constraint.

g(y) = diff( f(x) ) where diff means first derivative.

Now the application part to study the behaviour of boys. I hear of so many break ups these days, people say its because of incompatibility, I say its because of this curve. When there is rise in Income or budget the straight line moves up, now the old indifference curve is well under your budget so now u want to move to a higer indifference curve, may be you want to have a High Society girl so you indifference curve shifts, leading to what we call Breakup.

I hope I am clear about my thoughts, there would be many who will not follow me but I guess this what I have observed supported by some mathematical equations.

Give you thoughts to me.

When was the last time you did something that was crazy, guess in school or in college. Life is a beauty that fades away as it moves on, its impossible to turn back time and do what you did when you were kid. People always say me, you will never grow up, the moment I joined my company I thought this is the time to grow , but then one day while sitting on my couch I imagined my self as a poor jack who was all preoccupied by the seriousness of life, then thought why to change me if it is only for sadness. There is no point in growing up when you can handle all the odds in life while laughing at them. There is a girl in my office Pallavi, pulling her leg is always a fun to me, I am thankfull to her, because of her I still find that the same kid is still alive in me. I feel happy when my friend Richa says that siddharth you can never grow up. What is life if it is not fun, after all one day we all have to die, that day many close to us will cry, so why not make them laugh now if you have the chance. Going to office for me now is like going to my school, I still remember a girl Sonakshi who use to be a hot target for me, the story is same in my office only the name is different. One cool friend and his girl+ friend, one fat short & stout fellow who is about to get married. I guess there are only few in this world who get a chance to live what they lived decades ago. I have got that chance and won’t let it go easily. Life ahead is so messy that once you get in that, it is difficult for you to get out from that. So why not take this moment and bank on it as much we can. I am happy that people hate me for all the non sense that I do, infact Pallavi even said to a girl( Krati ) that I am so much iritating that she wants to slap me. Seriously friends to get such kind of comments requires a metal in you. There are many thing at this moment I want to write, guess you are so bored of this shit that you dont want to read a bit more, espically Pallavi. I wrote all this, thanks to Puneet who gave me a song that told me, there is no royalty of not being naughty , thats why I started my GOVERNING DYNAMICS again ( Different from the one John Nash gave )

“In a world where powers are determined by the share of the world’s knowledge, reflected by patents, paper and so on… it is important for India to put all her acts together to become a continuous innovator and creator of science and technology intensive product”. This what technology icon of India Mr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam said in his one of his conference, the message is clear, in coming era country with high end technological powers is going to cash her resources and would be the front runner. What Mr. Kalam said is India needs more of talented folks who can deliver excellent research work not only in science and technology but also in every sphere of our lives, be it social science, politics. India desperately requires a strong R&D platform where she could create a launching pad for the new technologies.
All this is blue print, by looking at this India could think of becomming a new super power in times to come or atleast be at power with many advance countries. This is where India lacks the most, the ability to transform words into action. Without a sheer effort of converting these ideas into action these thoughts would remain as a blue print. It’s not that India is a lazy jack, primarily it’s because we dont have proper resources and funding for this to happen, and with our traditional pedagogic ways of teaching this seems to be an impossible job.
Before I begin my thought process, once I was going to a song of Pink FLoyd, one line that made a lasting impression in my mind was “after all we are just another brick in the wall”, seems strange! that what a rock star has to do with this piece of blog. But this is how co-relate thing in life. With the present education system it is evident that dream of Mr.Kalam would remain a dream. For Mr.Kalam’s vision to take birth, our young folks should have an open panorma, where thought flourish not any mathematical formula or physics laws. This where we start a weak foundation. India fails at the very first step of becoming a tech guru. Education is a key to remove all the orthodox and baseless rituals we follow, but the task becomes tough when its own rituals are so oppressive and ossified.

Book Worm

Schools are similar to a theater where the actors like Principal, teachers are mere a script reader, like a theater actor is required to speak what’s written in the script so as our teachers and pricnipal. They have an hard coded program by which they execute their daily task. What I mean is that, the prime concern is to get the overall marks count for the school to get high. Teachers are least bothered about the thought process of the students, what matters to them is they follow the school policy and deliver good scores. At a some stage students too feel that only way to excel is to become book worm, loosing their creativity. A mid set up of getting an admission to a good college they need to have a healthy count of marks, they tend forget the real goal of this education, for which Mr.Kalam was talking about. After all it’s the Indian education system requirement that molds the student in this way.Teacher give a limited chunk of time to a specific topic, for them it is immaterial wether the student understood the concept. If they understood its good, if not its excellent. Keeping this in mind now the board exams have been made optional. The idea is again good, that now since student don’t have any phobia of exams they can concentrate on the fundamentals rather than cramming the formula, teacher also could spend more time on each topic. The policy makers did their part of act, it’s now up to the school actors to execute the script.

Dying Innovation

Coming to the next stage of Studentship, i.e graduation or postgraduation. In a report it is said that India would be at same technology level like any other developed country and by the end of 2015 or 2020 she would overtale them all. Many would appreciate such kind of speculation, but on real ground this is herculious task. I don’t say that what is being said is incorrect but the facts sings a different melody. Nearly 4,00,000 software geeks turn up every year out of that 3,00,000 are software buddies, major chunk of this goes for job, neglecting the research studies, nearly 20,000 goes for Post graduate and 1000 pursue Phd’s. The problem is mass pool of talented techie filter out at the level of graduation. The reason is also acceptable, India spends about $27 million on R&D where as US spends $368 and China nearly $104. With such small amount the graduate don’t show interest in pursuing postgraduate studies. A survey brings a more clear picture, there is about 156 research population per million, where as the count for US is 4,700 research scholors population per million.
what we dream of, today is just a dream and will remain dream till we take some rigrous steps. To get a cut throat edge in technology we need to have a collective efforts of school artist and college scripts writer. Its high time for us to stop adding bricks to the wall rather we need to start pile up the stones to build our wall a little stronger and larger.

A stress ful day at office yesterday, so thought of taking my regular SUTTA BREAK ( Smoking Break), with each puff of the smoke a sign of tension free ambience was waving through my body, a complementary tea with a smoke is like heaven and some time is a good stress buster. That very moment I just thought of one thing, the biggest invention in humanity is SUTTA ( CIGARETTE ). All the geeks work round the clock to bring something new to our life so that we can make our life more happy, easy and comfortable. Almost all the IT professionals work day & night to develop software that helps our business, be it ATM machine code, or be an On-line banking, without the puff of smoke how many of these geeks would have constantly worked so long . For me the biggest invention which led to other inventions is, what every one hates THE CIGARETTE.

With this piece of scrap I am not supporting the consumption of smoke, rather I want to justify a thought ” Excess of any thing is dangerous” . Smoking kills , that’s true we take colloquial volume of smoke in our lungs that is not good for health, for the critics excess of sugar causes Diabetes, so we should stop its consumption also. A diabetic patient is much more difficult to handle compared to the one who has some bronchitis problem. Patient with sugar level of insulin have to think before they eat anything and if that’s sweet be it an Ice cream, god may help them if they miss out their insulin shot by a fraction of second. Sugar patient in hospitals cannot be given glucose drips without proper observation. On the contrary a bronchitis patient has no such issues with him, at the end of the day both are victims of health hazards so why to curse smoke and not sugar.

Many people enjoy the deep fry cuisines, road side street hawkers selling the fried stuff, that too in some cheap oil, people enjoy them without fear of catching up the cholesterol problem, for smokers there are smoke that have good filters that pull out maximum tar content. Still we say smoking is injurious to health. Another major source of caffeine to our body apart from smoke is tea, coffee. Some addict drink near around 10- 12 cups of tea or coffee, then also taking same amount of caffeine that comes from 4-5 smoke.

Now coming to the advantages of smoking, I guess they are countless. First the corporate advantage, during my training I was told in one of the sessions that to make a quick and healthy contacts you need to visit these SUTTA BREAKOUT areas, see majority of the girls miss out this opportunity.

With these SUTTA break you can make friends easily, this is tried and tested funda that I have seen and applied also and the most valuable part of smoking is, when you are free and getting bored you can easily kill around 15 -30 mins with one smoke and feel free.

I don’t say that smoking is good but for many reasons its not bad. its just like every coin has two faces, many focous on the evil side, I prefer the flip side. I throw this discussion on to you to decide is smoking is so bad, but before arriving to any conclusion just keep in mind “ELEMENT OF EVERY THING IS GOOD IN LIFE”.

It takes hell lot of pane, when some one you love is pricked by a doctor or even a nurse. My family serving the cause of such people now for over a quarter of a century and I know what status a doctor enjoys. In India a doctor is the most respected person, may be next to god and some time at power with god. With the magic of medicine he can give a new hope to any one. Can wipe the tear of a crying mother, can lighten hope of life in a dead heart. Yes that’s why we call medical service is the best hospitality doctors can offer.

The gloomy part of the story is that there are some, who are predators in form of protectors. I dont say that some have turned cannibal, rather worse than that. With medical sciences touching new heights, so the cost of enjoying them and with hbig hospital adding the flavour of monetary gain, its the common man who pays the ultimate price. Its hard for us to understand the medical terms, so these hospital count on these sophisticated words and pour the money out of us.

A recent incident with one of my friend had such a bad experience. With little drenched he had fever, then late night shivering finally after a day he got admitted to a hospital ( SAGAR APOLLO HOSPITAL – BANGALORE) , few hours later we came to know that he has symptoms of MALARIA, two days he was tested negative for malarial, but then he was then given a new symptom of SWINE FLU. During all his stay he has been given around 30-40 shots of medicine, countless number of pills. Now the conclusion is that they have diagnosed him not properly so may be they will interrogate his body for another two or three days. During all these days they gone charge him for all the hospitality they have given to him.

We always talk about consumer forum, to claim if we have a some defected product, what about these hospitality services where have nothing tangible. Nothing to claim, and that too keeping the one of the most valuable thing on stake that is LIFE. With these highly qualified doctors with tons of experience, its hard to say that they have no knowledge of medical sciences, guess then its all about fool the innocent patient and squeeze money out of him/her.

I know this piece of text won’t make any changes to any one, but atleast I feel satisfied of getting out my anger. Hope you do the same.

The cookies were awesome, suddenly one comment from one of my friend compelled to write this blog, the comment was how come different CCD end up in making the cookie of same quality and taste around the globe. Although many answered it in an informal way, but a deep thought would make you realise worth spending time on this article.

The reason is straight forward they all follow a standard process, not going in technical definition of the term, a process is something that defines a set rule to acomplish some task, thanks to my company (Accenture) that tought me the importance of the term PROCESS. With just over 40K employees all over India the firm is known for delivering high performance and myself being a part of this, know how to do it. The reason is simple, they all follow a standard process. Be it America, Europe, Asian Sub Continent all produce the product of same quality, even with same defects ( Normally they don’t do mistakes).

India on a whole could be considered as firm that produces services for us, also for the world like any other MNC does, so why not apply the same PARADIGM to our country in order to increase her performance. The very fear of loosing your job makes you work hard to hold on to that job, this is what all the big corporates count on, the moment Indian machinery does that India will soon be delivering high performance.

The country produces people who are respected for their hard & smart work, also the smae country prodeuces people who hate working. The reason is same, the difference in attitude. Indian machinery is one of the biggest and complex in its working which requires a some standard process to measure its performance. If MNC’s all around the globe can deliver the same product with same quality, then why not country like India with different regional divisions cannot think of maintaing the same pace of development across different states.

Well there could be many guidelines to achieve this goal, it may include promotion on the basis of performance not on the basis of seniority, monetary advantage to those who work with dedication, etc…. The policy makers would be in a better position to define all these guidelines.

I don’t say that Indian machinery is all dead, the making of Mumbai bridge, the Delhi metro are some of the biggest example that shows India has the capability to deliver high performance, just we need to oil it a little bit

The cry for the our environment has been antiquated now, cutting tree, pollution from machines, sky touching chimneys are some key issues for environmentalist to amplify the cry, the solution for them are even worse, plant more trees, use public transport and the worst stop industrialization. The question is do we follow or even listen to these arguments? Answer is no, with growing urbanization we all need homes to live, no one wants to live in villages, to create handsome dwelling places we need to cut tree. We talk about stopping Industrialization but most of the developed economy have a strong foundation of Industrialization, and they are not so much polluted either.Carbon Tax is one of the terms that has made huge impact on us, many countries are now strictly following the norms of carbo tax. Another such recent term that has been coined is called the Green House.

Definition

Green building is a design philosophy which higlights the efficiency of resource use, while reducing building impacts on the environment, through better construction Practices. In short a common view is that building, be it commercial or residential, should be designed and operated in a way to reduce the overall impact of the built environment on human health. It tends to focus on the use of natural materials that are available locally.

Architectural Hazards
As of 2006, buildings used 40 percent of the total energy consumed in both the US and European Union. In the US, 54 percent of that percentage was consumed by residential buildings and 46 percent by commercial buildings. In 2002, buildings used approximately 68 percent of the total electricity consumed in the United States with 51 percent for residential use and 49 percent for commercial use. 38 percent of the total amount of carbon dioxide in the United States can be attributed to buildings, 21 percent from homes and 17.5 percent from commercial uses. Buildings account for 12.2 percent of the total amount of water consumed per day in the United States. Leading underground water shortage in these developed countries.(Data provided by http://www.Wikipedia.org). Keeping this in mind, reducing the amount of natural resources buildings consume and the amount of pollution given off could be seen as major source for environmental imbalance.
Although these green houses are some times considered to be cost ineffective but a recent study by World Business Council for Sustainable Development finds that green costs are overestimated by 300 percent.Effective green buildings are more than just a random collection of environmental friendly technologies, infact they are just primitive architectural knowledge fused with modern approach.

Green architecture aims at reducing waste of energy, water and materials used during construction. Consider for example, in California nearly 60% of the state’s waste comes from commercial buildings. To reduce the impact on wells or water treatment plants, several options exist. “Greywater”, wastewater from sources such as dishwashing or washing machines, can be used for subsurface irrigation, or if treated, for non-potable purposes, e.g., to flush toilets and wash cars, thereby reducing the same burden from Rainwater, also it helps in maintaing a healthy groundwater level

Green House At International Stage.
In 2004, the European Commission initiated the GreenBuilding Programme (GBP). This programme aims at improving the energy efficiency and expanding the integration of renewable energies in non-residential buildings in Europe on a voluntary basis. The programme addresses owners of non-residential buildings to realise cost-effective measures which enhance the energy efficiency of their buildings in one or more technical disciplines.

In the years 2005-2006, the GreenBuilding infrastructure was set up in ten European countries. The successful work is now being continued in a 2nd phase – called GreenBuildinPlus – that started December 2007. The GreenBuilding project is supported by the European Commission’s Intelligent Energy Europe Programme.

As per the current situation the contribution from building construction could be considered as a drop of water in ocean, but in near future this drop of water may cause a flood that would be impossible to controll.

There is a good news for Audi as for as AudiQ5 lovers. In India, German luxury car manufacturer Audi AG had hit all it’s record by selling 1,168 cars from the beginning of this year till August-end, compared to 1,050 units last year and company is expecting to sell 1700-1800 cars in 2009. Because of unexpected selling, company has decided to assemble SUV Q5 in it’s Aurangabad plant from next March. Audi currently assembles its luxury sedans A4 and A6 at the Aurangabad plant.

Audi India Managing Director Benoit Tiers said on Thursday “We will start local assembling of our SUV Q5 at the Aurangabad plant. This year we are expecting to sell 200 units, while it should go up to 500 units from next year.”

“The Indian subsidiary of Audi would start a new line of production for the SUV with an initial capacity of 500 units per year,” Tiers said.

“India is the second country after Germany where the Q5 will be assembled,” he added.

The cost of the car will reduce just because of duty cut. Presently, in India import duty is 116 per cent. If the car will assemble in India the company will have to pay only 60 per cent duty.

Audi plans to invest about €30 million in the country till 2015.

What is an IPO?

IPO stands for the Initial Public Offering, when a private company offers it’s shares for public to the first time. It is company’s first sell of stock to the public or you can say it is the process of going public through an offering of securities by a corporation to the public. A company can raise money by issuing either debt or equity. If the company has never issued equity to the public, it’s known as an IPO.

Companies are of two broad categories: private and public.
A privately held company has fewer shareholders and its owners don’t have to disclose much information about the company. Anybody can go out and incorporate a company: just put in some money, file the right legal documents and follow the reporting rules of jurisdiction. Most of the small businesses are privately held and most of the large companies are public. There are many examples of large companies which are not public like IKEA, Domino’s Pizza and Hallmark Cards are all privately held.

An IPO is the 1st sale of a joint venture shares to the public. After taking out an IPO a private company becomes public company.

This is done with the help of a stockbroker firm(sometimes by several banks) which handles the distribution of shares to the public. If one has a private business and own all its shares, then he can take some of these shares and sell them to the general public to raise money.

Reasons behind offering an IPO:

The primary reason to offering an IPO is that companies plan to use the money gathered from IPO to further expand their business or
to increase their business operations. It is pretty tough to grow your company with just your own money or depend on debt. This is when companies think of taking out an IPO and raise money for expansion.

Taking out an IPO is the right time to cashing the success of a company and hyping the excess money to grow your company.

Why IPO’s are so popular:

IPO’s are so popular just because they are comprehended to make easy money for short term as well as long term investors.

Suppose a company decides to take out an IPO, and fixes the number of shares and price, at which the offer will be made to the public. Then investors starts applying for shares of this particular company, and normally most of the IPO’s of famous company’s receives more number of applications than the total. People are keen on getting shares because the price at which the IPO is offered is commonly perceived to be at a discount to the fair value and when this IPO is listed, stock zooms up on the day of listing and a lot of investors made money by selling on the same day itself and if it was beneficial for long term also.

Other reasons are:

Because of the increased scrutiny, public companies can usually get better rates when they issue debt.

As long as there is market demand, a public company can always issue more stock. Thus, mergers and acquisitions are easier to do because stock can be issued as part of the deal.

Trading in the open markets means liquidity. This makes it possible to implement things like employee stock ownership plans, which help to attract top talent.

Risk on today’s scenario:

Till a few years back IPO’s were the surest way to earn money because company’s offer their shares at a discount to the public in an IPO and it was sure to jump on the very first day of listing it’s stock. But it is rare now a days to find an IPO with discounted rate, company’s are offering their shares at a decent price and it is just like a wild goose chase for the normal public to buy shares of an IPO.

I am giving you an example of India’s one of the biggest IPO ever, Mumbai-based Reliance Power who raised $3 billion in January 2008 by initial public offering. The 228 million shares Reliance Power offered on January 15 sold in less than a minute. The shares sold represented a 10% stake in the company, which aims to provide electricity to power the country’s fast growth but which so far doesn’t have a single operating power plant till now.

Remember: an IPO is just selling stock. It’s all about the sales job. If you can convince people to buy stock in your company, you can raise a lot of money. So in my opinion IPO’s are one more another option for making or loosing money in share market.

Its issue price has been fixed at Rs 950-1050 per equity share and it will raise around Rs 2,512.75-2,777.25 crore. The IPO opens on September 7th and closes on September 11th.

Oil India is the country’s second largest state run explorer and produces 3.5 million tons oil annually. It is engaged in exploration, development, production and transportation of crude oil and natural gas onshore in India. Oil India has also been accorded the status of Mini Ratna by the Government of India. Just to keep things in perspective though, ONGC, which is also controlled by the government is ten times the size of Oil India.

CRISIL has graded Oil India 4 out 5, which indicates above average fundamentals.

The IPO is being planned out to issue new shares to the public, but at the same time the government will also sell 10% its own stake to IOC, HPCL, BPCL and IOC.

Oil India has most of its business concentrated domestically, but it is exploring oil and natural gas in Gabon, Libya, Nigeria and Yemen too.

Risk and Competitors:

Volatility of oil prices either it is very high or low crude prices, are also bad for the company. The risk is that when the government sells petrol and kerosene at a discount to international prices to retail consumers, the subsidy is then shared by the government and oil companies and when oil price goes sky-high, the burden of this subsidy becomes really high on oil companies.

Oil India has all of its oil reserves in the Upper Assam basin, which is a maturing resource, and so it is facing decreasing production rates. This means that the need for developing new resources is relatively higher for Oil India, than other companies.

The company has main competition in oil exploration by companies like ONGC, IOCL, GSPCL, GAIL, British Energy, RIL, Cairn Energy and Niko Resources.
