A few weeks ago I wrote that my photographer friend Marjolein helped me create a good set up for taking my product pictures. What I didn't mention, is that she has her own photostudio in Houten (Netherlands).

Last week I visited her studio. I had never been in an actual photostudio before, so I was really impressed with everything. Look at all the huge lamps, and that enormous roll of background paper!

We also took some shots of some of my products. I love how they turned out. Very professional looking with the white backgrounds.

Queensday Flea Market Finds

April 30th is one of the best days to be a flea market loving Dutchie! On that day we celebrate Queensday. I don't know why, or how the tradition started, but on Queensday there are flea markets all over the country.

I visited one of the flea markets in my home town yesterday, with my mom. I found some really nice things this year!

The first thing I bought was this vintage children's card game. It's called Kwartet in Dutch, it's like Go Fish. (Though I don't know if Go Fish is with playing cards only?) The box is a bit battered, but the cards are all in perfect condition. I only paid €0.50 for it!

Then my find of the day, this Fujifilm Instax camera! Only €10! It came with some film too. I can't wait to use it! Last year I found an old polaroid camera, but I still haven't bought film for it, because I am not sure if it will work, and I didn't want to waste money on a camera that doesn't work. I should try that soon too though.

And last but not least, lots of tins! I have a weakness for old tins, I just can't resist them! I think one of these is not actually vintage, but the other ones are. I love how they look all together.

Feito Com Amor: The Cutest Shop in Breda!

On Saturday I took a trip to Breda to visit one of the shops that sells Tizzalicious goodies: Feito Com Amor. I also dropped off some brand new things, some of which aren't even in our webshop yet!

It was great to meet Pâmela, the sweet and pretty shop owner, and to see her amazing shop in real life. It made me dream of having my own shop a little more again!

I spotted Tizzalicious goodies all over the shop, it was like a treasure hunt!

I also spotted these cute cards & buttons from Popjes Art, who I mentioned in a DaWanda Wednesday a loooong long time ago.

The whole shop is filled with amazing things...and so much color!

If you are ever in Breda (and I definitely recommend going there, it's a great city!), make sure to stop by at Feito Com Amor on St.Annastraat 17.

My Own Little Photo Studio

Thanks to my photographer friend Marjolein, I now have the perfect setup for taking product pictures! I had all these random things, like a cheap lightbox, a daylight lamp and some LED lamps, but I never managed to take nice pictures using them. I was always just waiting for the right weather so I could use natural light.

Marjolein helped me create a setup that has the right light, so I am super pleased! No more hoping for slightly overcast but not too dark-weather!

The only downside is that the lights are super bright. Next time I might try this setup without the big daylight lamp, because it really hurt my eyes. On the bright (no pun intented) side though: At least I won't get winter depression!

In case anyone is struggling with taking product pictures too, this is the setup I'm using now:

- Cheap lightbox (Ritz Studio)
- LED lights (Falcon) on the sides
- Cheap lamp that came with the lightbox on top (but this will be replaced with a LED lamp soon too, as this crappy lamp gets WAY too hot)
- Philips Energy light (but that can probably be done without)

Busy Monday

Today was a busy Monday for me. I worked hard on making some new things for Feito com Amor, a super cute shop in Breda (Netherlands) where you can buy Tizzalicious goodies.

Don't you just love my placemats, by the way? I bought them ages ago, but never used them for eating! Luckily I have found a new use for them now: Making sure my little charms, chain and jump rings won't fall through the table.

Trip to the Oregon, USA

While I was away from blogging land, a lot of blogworthy things happened. Time to catch up!

The most important thing that happened during my absence was my trip to Oregon, USA! My boyfriend is half American, and grew up in Eugene, Oregon. During the Holidays I joined his family for a trip there. It was amazing!

So what did I do while I was there?

Fall in love with the cute mail boxes...

Shop for nice goodies like this suuuuuper cute bag!

Drool over this pink camera (but not buy it, I am a Canon girl after all)...

Love Aunt Carol's Flamingo collection, especially the Christmas flamingos...

Buy 3 pairs of Toms shoes...(I had borrow suitcase space from both Mr.Licious and his dad to be able to carry all the stuff I bought home :o)

Went to Portland, where the indie shops are amazing and plentiful!

Tried beer flavored ice cream in this fantastic ice cream shop...

Ate a Voodoo Donut...

Spotted this sweet sign in someones yard...

Bought this awesome monkey...

And these cool Powell's Books magnets...

Saw the Pacific Ocean for the first time...

Apart from all that I also...

- Used hipster iphone photo apps too much
- Found out that Beavers fans are truly despised in Eugene
- Saw an American Football match on TV for the first time (go Ducks!)
- Got to know and love Mr.Licious' American family
- Ate way too much yummie goodies (Pieshakes? WTF? Delicious!)

In other words: I had an absolutely fantastic time, and I can't wait to go back some day!

Tizzalicious is back with a new website!

Oh no, it's been way too long since my last post! I had a good reason for my absence though: I was working on the new Tizzalicious website! It took me much longer than I thought it would, and the stress from things not working the way I wanted to nearly killed me, but I survived, and I can now proudly present the new website!

I would love to hear what you think!

As you can see, it has a whole new look. Not only the look is new though, we also have tons of new useful functionalities.

So what's new?

- Shop by style, theme, color or price
- Ability to create an account for extra features (wishlist, address book, etc.)
- New payment methods (you can now pay with iDeal, Bank Transfer, Credit & Debit Cards, Paypal, Bancontact/Mister Cash and Sofortüberweisung/DIRECTebanking)
- Easy choice of currencies (Euro's, Dollars or Pounds)
- Better search with images

Another advantage is that it's now a lot easier for me to add products! During my absence I did make quite a few things, so you can expect a lot of new items over the new few weeks.

It's a great month for Tizzalicious, press wise! Another pair of our earrings is mentioned in a Dutch magazine this week: Tina. Tina is a comic for girls, aged 6 to 14.

Tina & I sure have some history together: I used to read Tina when I was younger. Not only did I have a subscription to it, I also read years and years worth of old copies we found when collecting papers for recycling.

When I was a little older (16 or so) I worked as a delivery girl for a while. Of all the different magazines I delivered Tina was one of the ones with the most subscribers. So you can imagine that being featured in Tina was a squeeeee moment for me!
