It's a great month for Tizzalicious, press wise! Another pair of our earrings is mentioned in a Dutch magazine this week: Tina. Tina is a comic for girls, aged 6 to 14.

Tina & I sure have some history together: I used to read Tina when I was younger. Not only did I have a subscription to it, I also read years and years worth of old copies we found when collecting papers for recycling.

When I was a little older (16 or so) I worked as a delivery girl for a while. Of all the different magazines I delivered Tina was one of the ones with the most subscribers. So you can imagine that being featured in Tina was a squeeeee moment for me!

It was a week filled with excitement last week! Not only did I become an aunt (as I mentioned yesterday), but my shop was also mentioned in Flow magazine! I love Flow, and I'm a subscriber, so you can imagine how I happy I am with this mention!

My green polka dot apple stud earrings share a page with a whole bunch of other apple goodies, all of which I'd like to own! I just can't resist apple cuteness!

I have happy news! On Sunday January 30th, my sister gave birth to an adorable little boy named Jelte! He's so cute, and I am absolutely in love with him.

Flair Magazine

Hi! Yikes, I haven't blogged all month! I have a good excuse though. Tizzalicious was featured in a webshop pocket that came with Flair magazine (Belgian edition) at the end of December, and orders kept coming in ever since! January is usually a bit slow (or at least it feels like that, compared to December), but this year it felt like December never ended.

I am so excited about the mention! I was mentioned in a magazine before, but they made a mistake with my name then, so this is the first real magazine mention. Squeee!

December Stats & January Goals

I wish I had sales numbers too, but I am a little too lazy to calculate those now, so let's just continue with my December stats:

Watching all those Harry Potter movies last month got me in the mood to re-read the books!

Home Alone & Gremlins are Christmas must-sees. All the weird Steven Seagal movies are Mr.Licious' fault, he brought them all to his parents when we stayed there for the Holidays.

Purchase Of The Month: My Macbook Pro, of course!
TV Show Of The Month: Vampire Diaries. I finished watching all available Glee, Gossip Girl & True Blood episodes, so I started a (for me) new series. I almost finished season by now.
Food Of The Month: Chocolate. I don't know what's going on, but I am craving it all the time.
Weather Of The Month: Still a whole lot of snow!
Happiness Of The Month: I am still doing great migraine wise. This is definitely the best I have felt for years!
Excitement Of The Month: Being featured in a web shop pocket that came with Flair Magazine. It's a huge Belgium magazine, and am getting a whole lot of orders from readers!

Items sold on Tizzalicious.dawanda: 122
Total items sold this month: 215

I was blown away by the number of things I sold this month! November was a little better for Tizzalicious.com & Tizzalicious.nl, which is probably due to the fact that I mostly sell to Dutch & Belgian people there, and we celebrate "Sinterklaas" on December 5th, which means shopping for gifts in November.

Overall I sold more than in November though, and compared to December last year my sales doubled! Last December I sold 105 items.

My goals for December were:

♥ Get through the crazy Holiday season stress free (businesswise, I don't stress for the festivities!)
♥ Play around with my new Macbook, and make all my files & administration work on it
♥ Close the shop for the Holidays and relax & have fun!

Goal 1 & 3 were a success, but I have had some problems with the Macbook (the colors are way off), so I can't really use it for the shop yet, need to get that fixed soon!

Goals for January

♥ Finally finish adding new items to the shop

The C&A at the mall in our hometown has (it's still there, over 20 years later!) a horse next to the entrance, and even though my mom would never give us any money to make it move, my sister and I always climbed on it and had fun.

How I Spent The Holidays

Happy New Year everyone! I hope everyone had a fantastic & relaxing time during the Holidays. My time spent with Mr.Licious family was great and filled with:

♥ Walking around in PJ pants. Mr.Licious' mom (Mother-in-lawicious?) bought us all matching PJ pants, which was hilarious, and a great excuse to walk around in comfy PJ pants all week. I loved it.

♥ Reading

♥ Loving the Christmas decorations around the house

This cutie belongs to Mr.Licious mom. Isn't she adorable?

I have a nutcracker obsession. A shop near here sold pink ones last year, and I soooo regret not buying one!

♥ Eating cake from vintage paper plates!

Can you believe those plates? Mr.Licious' parents recently moved in to his grandparents old house, and they started using things that his grandmother saved for years. Can you imagine my squeelevels (???) when we got cake served on these vintage paper plates? They must be so rare, I mean, who saves paper plates, right? I am glad Mr.Licious grandmother did though, I love them.

♥ Admiring the snow (through the windows)

The weather was absolutely crazy. Mr.Licious dad picked us up at the bus station, but the car doesn't have winter tyres, and we got stuck on a hill, so we all had to get out and push the car! The rest of the week we stayed in and enjoyed the pretty view from the windows. This is the view of the backyard, from the living room window.

New Years eve was spent at home with some friends. It was a lovely little party.

Yesterday I showed you some of the cuteness that is in my Christmas tree. I had too many pictures to share in one post though, so here is some more tree love!

I bought this cute Gingerbread Man on Etsy last week. It managed to arrive from the USA in a record time of 2 days! It's so cute, and it was very afforable too! Get one for yourself here.

I bought these adorable birds at Søstrene Grene twi years ago, so I doubt they still have them. I couldn't check this year, because that store is always SO crowded in December, and it was Friday afternoon when I was near there, so I decided to skip it.

My Christmas tree is looking cuter than ever this year! These are pictures of some of my favorite ornaments.

These cute cupcakes came in a set of four. There's another one of each color. I spotted them when I went to buy some plyers at a Dutch DIY store. I spent more time looking at their Christmas stuff than at the plyers.

These cute birdies were also a set of two. There's also a red one. Hema always has the best Christmas goodies. So much color! Much like everything else they sell really.

Wooden Deer Ornament from Plint

This suuuuper cute wooden deer is my latest tree addition. And my favorite at the moment.

I had a hard time taking pictures of the entire tree, but here you go! As you can see, it's not the "everything matches" type, but the "everything is cute and colorful" type. That's matching enough for me.

What is your tree like? All in one color? Or is it a mix and match of colors and shapes like mine? Is it a real tree, or do you have a fake? Mine is a black fake one. I wish I had a white one now though, I love all the white trees I see everywhere!

♥ A home made gingerbread house!

When I was younger, my grandma once made me a gingerbread house. I loved it, and still remember it with a smile :) I wish I had a picture of it.

♥ A gift certificate

Gift certificates might seem a little unoriginal, but in the end I think everyone loves them. They give the gift of shopping! Why not get a DaWanda voucher, to share some handmade love? They can be used in any DaWanda shop, and are available from €10 to €150.

Of course it's not too late to still go shopping. If you would like something handmade or unique, make sure to wander away from the main shopping street or mall. Side streets often have the cutest little shops, with lots of handmade prettiness.

Vacation!

It's been a busy year for me, and especially a very busy December! I am super excited about all those little Tizzalicious packages under Christmas trees all over the world. A big thank you to everyone who has bought their Christmas presents at Tizzalicious!

Now it's time for me to start relaxing though. Tomorrow I will close the shop for the Holidays. You will still be able to place an order at Tizzalicious.com & DaWanda, but those orders will be shipped when I am back on December 29th. The Etsy shop will have the Holiday message put up, which means you won't be able to order there at all, so make sure to get your last orders in while you still can.

I will be spending the Holidays with my boyfriends' family in his parents' house in the Danish country side. Sounds like the perfect setting for Christmas, right? New Years eve will be spent with a little party at home, with friends.
