Hello scrappers! I was supposed to post some pages from my Grandma’s 90th Birthday album, but I haven’t been able to do it yet. She just passed away and I’m still feeling blue. I did pick out the pages I want to show you, but won’t be posting those until next week. I’ve also had other bad news–my friend’s mother passed away this week and another friend was supposed to have minor surgery that turned into major surgery. Ugh! Tonight, luckily, I’m going out for dinner with a girlfriend and then we are going scrapbooking. I always feel better when I scrapbook, so this is my “Scrap Therapy.”

Gift Albums for an Event

Unfortunately, I had a gift album returned to me. My grandmother passed away recently and I got the album back that I made for her three years ago for her 90th birthday party. I plan on going through it this week and picking out my favorite pages to show you. I’m glad to get it back and I will always remember how much she enjoyed looking through it and sharing it with others. I also plan on doing some sort of Memorial Page, but am not sure when I’m going to get to that. I’ve never done one before, but am realizing how nice it would be to do one for those friends and family who go on to their final resting place before me. Check back later this week for some ideas for making a scrapbook for a memorable event like a milestone birthday. Happy Scrapping!

Freshmen Friends Reunited Digital Scrapbooking Page

Last month I got together with two friends from college. One friend I hadn’t seen since her wedding around 1990. She now lives in South Dakota and came to the Twin Cities for a work conference. It was so fun to see her and catch up on what we have been doing. I used the “Flutter By” digital kit to do this page also. I plan on making a freebie quickpage for you to download and use modeled after this page. Be sure to stop back again as I should have it posted by the end of the week. What I really like about this page is the fact that I was able to dig up some old photos of us in college and add them to the pictures I took last month for a priceless page. I think I’m going to have to remember to do this for more pages to come, especially of my kids.

Kid Scrapbooking Page Ideas

I just opened a digital kit from my digital designer friend Karyn Robinson called “Flutter By” to play with. I had some pictures I took last month at a friend’s house and had to try out this kit. This page is of my friend, Allyson, and her daughter. I wanted to do something different with them and managed to dig out a frame I got in a newsletter from Scrapgirls.com. It looks like a negative so I used two of them on this page for the two pictures. The rest of the embellishments and the digital paper came from the “Flutter By” kit that you can find on sale at Enchanted Studios. This page went really fast for me and came together in about 15 minutes.

Wall Climbing Scrapbook Page

For girl scouts, my daughters both went to the rock climbing wall at our local college. I took a few pictures and did a page for each of them. For this page I used some chipboard for the title that happens to match the paper. This page was pretty quick and easy because I had limited pictures to choose from. I decided to crop them all to the same size. I added a journal box at the bottom to tell about the page and added a ”discover” sticker.

More Scrapbook Pages with Christmas Photo Cards

I did another set of pages for our friends Christmas photo cards that were sent to us. I used the same “technique” as I did for the previous family card pages. I cropped them all as small as I could and then started in the middle of the two pages and worked my way out to the outer edges. Just think of it like putting a puzzle together, but much easier as you aren’t using funny shapes. I used my photo pen to write on names and then added some embellishments and I was finished.

Scrapbooking Your Christmas Photo Cards

Hi all. I came up with a quick and easy way to scrap all of the photo cards I received from friends and family. I divided up the photos into two piles–one for friends and one for family. The pages I’m showing you today are of the family pictures. I decided to keep it simple and just use green cardstock for my background. Then I cropped all of the pictures down to just the “meat” of the pictures (people). After that, I started in the middle and just started fitting pictures together side by side like a puzzle, working my way out horizontally. When I adhered them all to my page, I took a Zig Signature pen and wrote directly on the pictures. This pen is made especially for writing on pictures and I love it. Last I cut out Season’s Greetings with the Cricut and placed some Christmas stamp stickers on the page and I was done. I’m telling you this page took less than 20 minutes to do!

Just Being Silly Kid Scrapbooking Page

Sorry I have neglected my blog scrappers. We were so busy last month. My father-in-law had surgery for a brain tumor and now we found out it is cancer. If you have ever dealt with this please leave a comment for me. I’m trying to gather as much information as I can on conventional treatment as well as complementary and alternative options. Doing and looking at scrapbook pages like this helps me really appreciate the simple terrific moments in life. When we were on a camping trip this summer, my daughter wanted to take some pictures with her camera so myself and my two girls did some goofy poses and the pictures turned out pretty cute. Of course, I’m quite biased about the cuteness of my kids, but that’s a whole other blog entry. I made the “Strike a Pose” embellishment by printing out the words on a printer from my computer and then punched out a circle around the words. After that, I cut out a scalloped circle with the Cricut Electronic Cutting Machine and there you go–a five minute decoration. The “Just Being Silly” vellum piece was from some paper pack I bought quite a while back. I just secured it with some eyelets. This page took about 10-15 minutes. The pictures were just left 4×6 size.

Use Your Leftover Letter Stickers to Make Cards

Hello scrappers! I don’t know if any of you make your own cards or not, but I’ve found having scrapbook supplies and making homemade cards kind of run hand in hand. It also saves me some money as cards are running a couple of dollars per card these days. I was making a couple of birthday cards and decided to try using a couple of different kinds of letter stickers to put “Happy Birthday” on the front of a card. I really didn’t have a choice because some of the most used letters I was out of. It turned out quite nice and now I’m going to be using my leftover letters for this purpose. You can also mix up your stickers on your scrapbook pages for titles and journaling. Try it sometime for a different look!
