On the day of your visit, purchase tickets in line at the ticket counter on the 4th floor at the time of your choice. Be warned that due to a large number of international tourists visiting the lines can become very long so it is highly recommended to pre-purchase your tickets online

After purchasing tickets, board the TEMBO Shuttle (elevator) directly.

No tickets for the TEMBO Galleria alone are available for the designated date and time tickets.

The price of the day/time ticket is from 10:00 to 20:30; the morning discount applies from 8:00 to 9:30. Also, there is a price change on specific days.

If you know the date and time of your visit to the Sky Tree, we recommend that you purchase a date/time-specified ticket rather than a day-of-entry ticket.

This is because it is often crowded both on weekdays and weekends, and depending on the time, you may have to wait in line for quite some time before getting on the elevator with a same-day ticket!

The Skytree Elevators

There are four elevators in total. Each elevator has a theme of spring, summer, fall, and winter, and it depends on your luck which one you get to ride.

We were able to ride the “Summer” elevator, which featured a great display of fireworks!

When you get on the elevator, the beautiful fireworks start going off.

Incidentally, as the elevator rises, the letters “634,” the total length of the Tokyo Sky Tree, gradually appear due to the lighting effects.

It is hard to notice if you do not look carefully, but it takes about 50 seconds to reach the 350-meter TEMBO DECK, so if you are able to ride in “summer,” please check for yourself.

Why Was The SkyTree Built in Sumida-Ku?

Tokyo Skytree

In addition to Sumida-ku, Saitama-shintoshin, Nerima-ku, and Ikebukuro were mentioned as planned construction sites.

Among these, whether the construction site was sufficiently secure, whether the signal could be delivered stably to the entire Kanto area, and the merits of tourism were taken into consideration, and in March 2006, the Sumida area was selected for the soon-to-be iconic tower.

The major deciding factors were that Sumida-ku is easily accessible from the major areas of the Tokyo metropolis and that the area is blessed with existing tourist attractions such as the Ryogoku Kokugikan, Sumida River, and Kappabashi Shopping Street, in addition to Sensoji Temple, which attracts 30 million tourists a year.

Construction began in 2008, and after about four years of construction, Tokyo Skytree Town was completed, with the Tokyo Skytree as its landmark.

Nearby Asakusa is a world-famous sightseeing spot and just fifteen minutes away on foot.

There are many attractions such as Kaminarimon, Nakamise-dori shopping street, Sensoji Temple, Asakusa Shrine, Hana-yashiki, the oldest roller coaster in Japan, and Asakusa Engei Hall, which has produced many comedians.

The elegant streets of the old downtown of Tokyo are also popular among international tourists.

Asakusa was first established in 628 when a local fisherman scooped up a statue of the Kannon (Goddess of Mercy) in the Sumida River with a net and offered it as a memorial service.

Asakusa developed because the Sumida River provided seafood and the area’s location on a slightly elevated hill made it easy to evacuate in the event of a disaster.

Three types of lighting representing the history and culture of the downtown area where the Skytree is located will appear each day.

The official website lists which lighting will be available, so be sure to find out in advance when taking pictures.

Miyabi: This is the most major of the regular lighting, and is purple in color.

Iki: Expresses the spirit fostered in Edo. This light blue lighting is inspired by the water of the Sumida River.

Noboribori: These orange lights express the liveliness of Edo.

Special Lighting Types

During certain times of year, the Skytree also lights up with specific themes.

Sparkling

This is a gold and white lighting that expresses brilliant stars in the galaxy in the sky, which has been turned on only in early summer to- celebrate the third anniversary of the opening.

Cherry blossom season lighting

The “Saki” light is a pink light that represents the famous Japanese cherry blossom. The light pink “Saki” light is on from March 1 until the cherry blossoms in Tokyo are declared to be in full bloom, and the dark pink “Mai” light is on from the declaration of bloom until around April

Meika (bright flower)

Five types of lights inspired by sunflowers, lilies, lavender, hibiscus, and marigolds are turned on every year on March 11 as a symbol of hope for the reconstruction of the areas affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake.

Year-end and New Year Special Lighting

This is white-red-white lighting with the image of Hinomaru represented on the Japanese flag that is turned on from December 31 to January 1 every year.

This lighting is also sometimes activated to mark some significant events in Japan such as the change of government.

Candlelight and Champagne Trees

Lit up from early November to December 25 each year. The red “Candle Tree,” which resembles the Sky Tree as a candle, and the green “Champagne Tree,” which resembles a fir tree, are lit alternately each day.

How to enjoy the Nearby SUMIDA AQUARIUM

Sumida Aquarium Tokyo Sky Tree © TOBU RAILWAY

This is not the only attraction of the Tokyo Sky Tree so last but not least, we would like to introduce you to the adjacent Sumida Aquarium.

This aquarium also has a lot to offer, so be sure to visit there together with the Skytree!

Let’s take a look at the highlights of the aquarium and the creatures that are a must-see!

Jellyfish zone

Sumida Aquarium in Tokyo Skytree Town

The first thing you should see is the Jellyfish Zone. You will be enchanted by the beautiful and extraordinary world where a wide variety of jellyfish welcome you.

We especially recommend the Aqualabo, where jellyfish are raised to adulthood. The baby jellyfish, which are not easily seen are so cute and almost magical.

Coral Reef Section

Sumida Aquarium in Tokyo Skytree Town

A little further on from the jellyfish zone, you will find a row of tanks with coral reefs and the creatures that congregate there. Among them, the most popular one is the Chinese Dollfishes.

How To Take Good Photos At The Aquarium

Many people want to take cute pictures of aquarium creatures but have trouble doing so. Here are some tips for taking pictures at aquariums!

Hold your camera (or smartphone) straight in front of the aquarium.

Get as close to the aquarium as possible.

Tap the spot you want to take a good picture of and focus on it.

The most important point is to hold the camera in front of the aquarium. If you shoot from the side through the acrylic, the image will be blurred.

Penguin Area

Sumida Aquarium Tokyo Sky Tree © TOBU RAILWAY

When you think of penguins in an aquarium, you probably think of them waddling around on land and occasionally entering the water, but the penguins here swim, swim, swim!

This is because the aquarium has a large, deep tank filled with water to make it easier for the penguins to take a dip whenever they want.

You can even see the staff feeding the penguins up close.

The SUMIDA AQUARIUM also has many other attractions, such as the Tokyo Big Tank, which recreates the Ogasawara Sea, and the Edoarium, where you can see a wide variety of goldfish!

Konica Minolta Planetarium “Tenku” in Tokyo Skytree Town

Sky tree planetareum Copyright © TOBU RAILWAY

One of the reasons for the popularity of Tokyo Solamachi is the planetarium.

The planetarium shows programs on a variety of themes, such as the popular manga “Shinkage no Kyojin” and programs about Hawaii.

Taking full advantage of the planetarium’s screen, visitors can enjoy an experience that is different from that of a typical planetarium.

Programs are updated on a regular basis, so please visit the website for more information.

Shinjuku Central Park is another green area in a very busy area of Tokyo. Shinjuku Central Park is often served by salary-men or career-woman workers working nearby skyscrapers. There is a fountain, chapel, and cherry tree.

During Sakura season, there are plenty of local residents enjoying picnics under trees. It’s a great place in Shinjuku to enjoy the green space and relax. Allow about one hour for the parks. It’s less big than Shinjuku Gyoen, but it’s worth visiting.

Shinjuku Train Station

Early morning Shinjuku Station

Shinjuku is the busiest station on Earth with 2 million people logged on each year. Yes, you read that correctly. More than 2m passengers use the train station every day. You’ll probably be arriving here in the morning.

Get your coffee from Blue Bottle Coffee. There are many stores at the station. However, you’d prefer to find a nearby exit point to travel to Shinjuku. Tip: Try not to travel by subway during high traffic times. If you have an insane idea, things could go horribly wrong.

Take a peek at the Giant Godzilla’s Head

Shinjuku Shopping Donki

Godzilla Head is a must-see in Shinjuku. It is situated in the eighth-floor lobby at the Gracery Shinjuku. Take photos of famous characters in an iconic landmark and pose for photos.

The Giant Godzilla can be viewed in a few moments. The site provides a chance to spot incredible flames and lasers from Godzilla. Roar Time: 12:00 pm, 21:00 pm, 15:00 pm.

Pay Your Respects at the Hanazono Shrine

A good way to get into Shinjuku is by stopping at Hanazono Shrine. The quiet hidden treasure sits at the heart of the bustling city center.

The temple is regarded as a favorite by many people whose business is centered around business. Besides prayers, make sure to photograph the beautiful religious landscape as well.

Check out BICQLO Shinjuku

The BIC QLO Shinjuku is a combination of a popular Japanese retailer in TokyoBic Camera and a Japanese retail chain, Uniqlo. Bic Camera is an internationally renowned manufacturer of electronics for homes and Uniqlo is known for its clothing brands as well.

It is a very distinctive store from all the malls in Shinjuku. Take a moment to view the products in the store, including beauty appliances and cameras. In addition to fashion clothing, you will see a vast variety of stylish accessories. Starting from floor 1 you will do everything Uniqo requires. And the other floor is dedicated to camera equipment and other items.

Dress up as a Samurai at the Samurai Museum

We didn’t get to the Samurai Museum yet, but it has a great review and it was an enjoyable family-friendly activity. The smaller museum displays costumes of these honored warriors.

The price includes guided tours to learn more about the samurais and their impact on modern Japanese society. It is possible to try the costumes as an exciting photographing opportunity.

Stroll Down Memory Lane (Omoide Yokocho)

Take a stroll down memory lane in Shinjuku

Memory Lane (Omoide Yokocho in Japanese) is my favorite location in Shinjuku during the night.

It’s also less romantically known as Piss alley and is in Nishi Shinjuku so you can get there by taking the west exit from Shinjuku station.

You can eat yakitori skewers washed down with beer with the locals and tourists. The tiny bars have paper lantern decorations and seasonal flowers (summer leaf and cherry blossom) as well as smudges from the grill.

Shinjuku Guide

The area can get busy – our visit on a rainy October night was much more fun than on April Saturdays.

Sing Karaoke in a Private Booth

We walked into the neon center of bustling Kabukicho, before enjoying our first Japanese Karaoke Experience. In Japan karaoke has become a popular pastime. Visit any one of Japan’s large karaoke centers and make for a fun local experience.

You rent a private area with comfortable seats and a tablet in which you can pick up plenty of English songs. Use a microphone to play slang in this funny video. Package options vary depending on the number of times of the week.

Visit Shinjuku Golden Gai

Golden Gai Shinjuku Guide

Shinjuku golden gai (Golden Street) is a fantastic way to experience traditional nightlife in Tokyo. Located in six narrow alleys, the attraction hosts over 250 bars.

This area became popular after the second world war where it offered cheap drinks and street food.

Do mber that the now most places are not cheap drinking places and its clients generally are wealthy residents of the area. We don’t recommend eating at the restaurant here.

A lot of local bars are also open at 7pm. Therefore the area remains extremely quiet from dawn until late in the afternoon. But if you want the best place to visit with a beautiful view or relaxation, it’s an interesting option. Most of the bars here are very small; one bar can accommodate only 5 people.

When a salary-payer or career worker finishes a job, they often enjoy a drink after work. You may discover them in Golden Gai, a fantastic location for beer lovers. Golden Gai is the perfect place to stay when you want to explore Shinjuku.

Golden Gai bars and restaurants have a little bit of an alternative style. These are small spaces and have very little seating.

It’s hard to escape from talking to a local (provided the person knows English or Japanese). Sometimes the owners may refuse to let you go, even if the seat is empty.

Recreate Lost in Translation at the New York Bar at Park Hyatt

New York Bar Lost in translation bar Shinjuku

We recommend watching a Lost in Translation movie before you visit Tokyo. The characters reside in the Park Hotel Tokyo in Shinjuku and first meet in an upstairs 52nd-floor bar that offers a breathtaking panorama of the City.

Just wander through the bright streets and take pictures. If your search for the easiest place to explore Shinjuku especially at night is certainly a top option.

Sanrio Puroland is a must-visit indoor theme park in Tokyo for those who love cute things. It’s 100% indoors, so the weather is not a problem, and there are many attractions and photo-taking opportunities in the spacious facility, which is much bigger than expected.

With attractions and shows featuring various Sanrio characters, gourmet food, and souvenirs, you can create many cute memories.

A different world that even non-enthusiasts will definitely enjoy! A visit to Sanrio Puroland

The spacious museum is full of attractions and photo spots and the quality is so high that even adults who are not familiar with Sanrio will enjoy this place, so I recommend it.

Sanrio Puroland entrance fee

If you enter puroland before 12 midday there are also discounts. Buy Puroland tickets online through third parties and/ or at the ticket offices at the amusement park.

How can you make some good savings? Purchase your tickets now! The ticket cost for this week was reduced by 80%.

The Klook ticket is easily redeemable. We printed it ahead of time. The theme park representatives scan the QR code so we can go into the park.

How to Get to Sanrio Purolando?

Follow The cute characters to Sanrio Puroland Tokyo

The fastest way to get to Tama Center is by subway. Take the Express/Regular route from Shinjukoko station towards Hashimoto either in the Keio lines or Odakyu line.

This will take around 45 minutes. Use your Suica or Pasmo prepaid cards to book a ticket. After getting out of the subway take around 10 min to get to the door.

As you exit Tama Central Station, you will find a Sanroi motif throughout, from the station signage to the painted glass mural of the characters on the ceiling.

Sanrio Puroland is just a 5-minute walk from Tama Center.

Sanrio Puroland Layout

Sanrio Puroland Map And Layout

Upon arrival in the theme park on the third floor you will be met by an enormous hello kitty statue with the Friends crests.

The children visited their favourite sanrio characters Melody and Hello Kitty while we visited them. This is so cute! The parks have four floors and they have quite a lot of muck. Keep this map with you for every trip.

For those who love cute things, this theme park is the best of the best.

The museum is much larger than I had imagined, and there are so many attractions and photo spots that one day would not be enough time to play.

And by the time you leave, you’ll probably be thinking, “Humanity needs a fairy tale! and you’ll feel like you’ve been there before.

In this article, we will introduce you to the activities, food, and souvenirs you can enjoy at Sanrio Puroland.

A truly otherworldly place! Things to do at Sanrio Puroland

Sanrio Puroland Tokyo – Enter the world of Hello Kitty

Upon entering, you will be greeted by a fairy-tale castle archway and Hello Kitty!

From this entrance, you can move to the “Entrance Shop”, cafes and restaurants on the upper floors, and “Puro Village” and “Sanrio Town” on the lower floors.

First up, we recommend that you take the escalator to the “Puro Village” on the 1st~2nd floor.

There’s a huge atrium space and a large “Tree of Wisdom” surrounded by blue light.

A tree like this should only exist in fairy tales, but here it is right in front of you. Sanrio Puroland is seriously a fairy tale world!

Cute attractions

Let’s take a look at the various attractions and shows that can be accessed from this area.

Sanrio Character Boat Ride

Sanrio Character Boat Ride

The first of the themed rides for us was the “Sanrio Character Boat Ride”.

It is a ride attraction where you enjoy the story while traveling on a so-called boat, but it is quite high quality and immerses you in the Sanrio world.

I thought I had not been exposed to many Sanrio characters, but I was surprised to see the “Monkichi the Osaru’s gym uniform bag! I used to have a Kiki & Lala fork for kids! He had a Bad Badtamaru pencil box and pencils! I had a pencil box and pencils from Bad Badtamaru,” and so on.

Even if you don’t have much knowledge of Sanrio, it’s just fun to see “characters you know a little” appear one after another with solid mass.

Even if you are not a Sanrio fan, you might be fooled and give it a try. It’s so good that it brings back memories so much you’ll laugh.

The amount and density of content is so high that it’s fun the whole time!

And since the ride goes around the village, it is very open and comfortable.

The finale is also spectacular. It’s really great, so please ride it. You must ride it.

Other fun and cute attractions include “My Melody & Kuromi – My Melody Road Drive,” where you can take pictures with My Melody’s friends on a ride, and “Gudetamarando,” where you can play various mini-games.

Up on the Tree of Wisdom, you will find “Gudetama’s Magic Compatibility Uranai” and “Hello Kitty’s Happy Bell. There was also a creature here that talked to me from the tree. It was not a dream.

There is a fee for photo printing, but you are free to ride the attractions, so take as many laps as you like to get your fill of fairy tale ingredients.

A photo-op spot to bring back memories

All of them have completely different atmospheres, so you will never get tired of taking pictures. The areas that are not photo booths are fairy tale enough, though.

Lady kitty house

Lady Kittys House At sanrio Puroland

Lady Kitty House is also full of photo-worthy spots. The theme of the house is “Kawaii x Celebrity,” and it is like a sweet dream.

It is a dream come true to be able to spend one-on-one time with Lady Kitty, and it makes me a little nervous.

Depending on the time of day, there are also spots for character meet and greets. Even if you are tired of human society, the fairy tale memories of having two shots with the characters may give you strength.

Gudetama Land

Gudetama Land At Puroland

What about the free game – is it worth it? Currently, it is in Gudetama’s territory. Everybody is issued a Gudetama passport to play games.

Practice cracking eggs in bowls and smashing pins made from mayonnaise and soy sauce. Your card will also allow you to photograph the huge Gudétama sculptures and you may also purchase images when you leave. Sanrio. The first floor of Strawberry Hall. Gudetama Land is worth visiting during your visit to Sanrio.

Gudetama: The Movie Show

Gutetama Directs A Movie At Sanrio Puroland

Is there any film with Gudetama as its main character? We understand Gudetamas’s charm through his laziness and butty-ness.

You’ll get you an opportunity to help him create movie clips using audience insights and support.

It’s possible to meet with Gudetama if you can speak a little Japanese. It seemed a little strange but the part we saw was fun.

Location: Puro Valley First Level, Discovery Theatre.

Kabuki Monster Show

The crown enjoying the Kabuki monster show at Sanrio Puroland

Stage performances that really move even adults

At the fairy tale theater, KAWAII KABUKI – Momotaro by Hello Kitty Troupe and the irregularly scheduled “Aoi Tori” show by Kitty and Cinnamon are performed.

The singing and dancing are good and the stage production is authentic.

The show’s theme, “Everyone gets along” is honestly portrayed, and it is the adults who will be able to say, “This is what it is like! This is important! I felt emotionally involved in the show.

In a world where there is no salvation, everyone reaches out to each other without being overbearing.

Kindness, compassion, and a heart that recognizes differences. This is a wonderful stage that conveys through fairy tales what adults can no longer express honestly. I felt that the power of fairy tales is necessary for today’s society.

Incidentally, the play also has elements for children, including kabuki elements such as kumakuri, mitsuke, tsukeuchi, and bukkari, which will help them cultivate their education. It is perfect.

What to Eat in Puroland?

Cute Food is available at the Sanrio Puroland Food court

As you can see, there is more to do at Puroland than you can imagine, and it will take all your energy. Take a break and consume kawaii food.

You will not be troubled in finding food places. Go to the restaurant at the first level for Sanrio-style food.

Unique and Cute Eateries At Sanrio Puroland

Reasturaunt Yakata at Sanrio Puroland Tokyo

There are many cute restaurants to dine at, including the pavilion’s restaurant and Cinnamorro Dream Café, and Restaurant Yakata.

This time we had our meal at the Sanrio Rainbow World Restaurant.

They have various pasta dishes a Gudetama Roast Beef Bowl and the Dessert Cup for dessert. Too cute to eat!

I was surprised to see brightly colored curry in the shape of cute Sanrio characters in the food court, but rest assured it tasted just like a curry.

Character Food Court

Sanrio Puroland Tokyo

Another option for food is the bright pink character food court

A Wide Variety of Character Goods

Sanrio has a wide variety of goods, to begin with. The entrance store is quite spacious and well-stocked, and to be honest, you could easily spend an hour here.

There are many items such as stuffed toys, sweets, accessories, etc. that are available only at Puroland.

I could have lived with just the items here.

The most recommended item is a catsuit, which is a staple at theme parks. Just by wearing the ears, you can get quite excited and immerse yourself in an extraordinary atmosphere. Sanrio Puroland is one such place.

As you would expect from Sanrio, there are quite a few different types, so you can add your own personality. Many people came to the event wearing coordinating catsuits with the characters, and it was a standard way for fans to enjoy the event.

However, please note that products may be out of stock or sold out without notice! If you are a little curious, you have to buy it immediately.

Besides the entrance store, there is also a My Melody store on the upper floor. As one would expect from Sanrio, there are many items that make you say, “You’re collaborating with that? I enjoyed the entertainment of the store alone.

(Please note that these items may be out of stock or sold out without notice.)

Sanrio Puroland is a classic spot for children and kawaii lovers, but I felt that even adults who are not so interested in kawaii can have a lot of fun here.

Now that travel is so difficult, we recommend this experience of experiencing a high-quality “fairy tale” in an extraordinary space that can be easily accessed, regardless of age or gender.

What’s The Best Hotel Near Sanrio Puroland?

I mentioned Hachiko earlier in an article, “24 hours in Tokyo”. Hachiko waited every day at his owner’s house at Shibuya Station, before he walked home together.

The owner of Hachiko’s house sadly died at the end of his academic years. Every night for the next 7 years, Hechikiko returned to Shibuku station and was awaiting his owner. Eventually, some commuters noticed him.

Shibuya Crossing

shibuya scramble crossing

Do I have a desire to explore? Let me begin with the Shibuya pedestrian trek which is the main attraction in Shibuya. You can visit Shibuya Crossing at night when virtually no one can travel this route.

This is an extremely cool and apocalyptic feeling about Tokyo. Take your time and enjoy the enormous distance between buildings to capture some amazing photographs, which are normally impossible due to the crowds surrounding them. It’s quite an enjoyable movie experience and highly recommended for Shibuya.

Shibuya Station

Shibuya Station

As mentioned earlier, Shibuya trains station is among Tokyo’s largest. There are no restrictions on visiting this large multi-story shopping center. Do not worry about crowding. It is great fun when you can easily navigate the station using a Tokyo subway map.

Shibuya Station has shops, restaurants, and stores. You’ll find many activities at the Shibuya Station to see how Tokyo and Shibuya are divided in the area. Essentially, if you’re really interested in all the details and exploring it, you’ll always find something you want!

Yoyogi Park

On the way to Yoyogi Park in Shibuya

When people think about visiting Tokyo it can be difficult to imagine if you want to go to a peaceful park. It is located three kilometers from Harajuku Station and within the extremely urban surroundings of the Shibuya area.

This contrast is quite a relief and at least in a small part a little relief compared with Shibuyo’s hustle-bustles. This is an absolute necessity for the things to do in Shibuya. The large grounds offer an ideal way to enjoy nature at its best, particularly during the cherry blossom seasons.

Sopping In Shibuya

Shibuya

The place is probably the best for shopping among visitors and there are practically all kinds of shops. The biggest branch is the Shibuya Megadonki, opening in 2017. The landmark building at Shibuya PARCO has been refurbished and reopened in Autumn 2019. Currently one of the biggest stores in Shibuya PARCO is Nintendo Japan’s first official Nintendo store.

Manga Cafes

What is Shibuya’s best place to eat? If you can’t drink, you can have a few fun geeky activities in Shibuya. Shibuya also has tonnes of manga cafes, in which it is possible for anyone renting a booth to view and buy manga books. When Manga Cafés became popular there were a couple of new programs for memberships. Members have lower rates, can sleep overnight, and have a bathing and shower room available. Is it really nice to stay here? You must learn Japanese for most hotels because there’s no language textbook available.

Sakuragaoka-Cho Street

Once you’ve had the most of Shibuya, you can chill at Sakuraoka-Cha. During the Sakura season, things are usually quite hectic. Then go there and watch people and enjoy matches and desserts throughout the day. This is a favorite neighborhood in Shibuya

Nonbei Yokocho

Nonbei Yokocho Shibuya

Nonbei Yokocho literally translates into ‘Drunken Alleys’. There’s a famous Izakaya alley containing a nostalgic feeling located off Shibuya’s main highway. Have fun getting drunk and be local.

Pachinko Parlours

Pachinko is an Asian arcade where players play slots and games. It’s definitely an experience, so I suggest that you try it. Since gambling was typically legal in Japan the place Pachinko needed to be crafty. Pachinko isn’t considered gambling because you won’t win anything. You win small Pachinko balls for special prizes. The token can be purchased from a shop nearby for money or another item. Since there was no money received at the parlor, no laws had changed.

Go and see a real baseball game!

Jingu Stadium is only two stops from Shibuya and there, in this massive arena of over 3000 seats, there is an authentic baseball match.

Baseball in Japan is an extremely popular sport that is enjoyable for anyone who’s not familiar with this sport. In addition to the sport itself at the stadium, there is delicious food and beverages available, and during the summer fire displays will take place. Tickets are sold via an English website.

Walk in a bamboo forest

Admittedly not in Shibuya Central but less than 20 minutes by bus from Shibuya station, Suzume-ni Oyadi Ryokuchi Park contains a stunning bamboo forest that began to flourish 200 years ago.

It is very special in the Bamboo Forest so you can walk at the right place, enjoying the incredible sights which Bamboo provides. On one corner of the park, there’s even a restored traditional Japanese building.

Takeshita Street

Crowds At Takeshita Shopping Street In Harajuku

Takeshita Street is usually chock full of people and is a melting pot of Tokyo’s youth fashion and unique Harajuku culture. You can buy just about anything fashionwise from traditional yukata and kimonos to funky Harajuku fashion. Takeshita Street is one of the first things we’ll see when stepping out of Harajuku Station

What To Eat In Shibuya?

There’s a stack of great places to grab a bite to eat in Shibuya.

There are numerous good food outlets in the area that include affordable Sushi restaurants and high-end Wagyu restaurants and the region offers a range of restaurants at an affordable level. This list is the best restaurant in Shibuya.

Grab a bowl of Japan’s world-famous ramen – A taste explosion for your mouth

It is an explosion in popularity worldwide, but it must definitely be tried in Japan for authentic tastes. Japan is also a great destination for Japanese Ramen and it is surprisingly important to visit Shibuya because there’s an opportunity to meet real masters with ramen.

Seitokudo offers many ramens and delicious desserts. Tonari is also famous for oyster ramen and the ramen of Kichitsora has been widely praised. The Japanese food scene certainly offers a variety of ramen restaurants, but Shibuya has three restaurants and many more.

Order some fast food at Japan’s new conveyor sushi – An exciting thing to do in Shibuya!

Uobei Shibuya

Restaurants in Shibuya. Uobei Sushi allows you to experience this Japanese-style sushi conveyor. It’s different! It’s where one orders what they want on tablets, then waits for their car. Food is deposited into conveyors on a stylized tray, which appears to represent trains around Japan and racing cars. Instead of wasting time transporting food around on conveyor belts, you can feel like you have fresh food.

Eating wagyu is a must in Japan!

Japanese wagyu beef meats grow in popularity as they are often grilled and served at high prices abroad. However in Japan, the prices are somewhat less expensive; at restaurants such as Henry’s Burger Motsuchi, Ushigoro Bambina, and Moshiba, the food tastes amazingly good. Wagyu beef is unlike any other type of beef, but you can understand why once you try it.

Where to stay in Shibuya?

Other than Love and Captiva Hotel, you can find many great hotels in Shibuya. If you want to stay at Shibuya Hotel – Tokyo, you can easily find good accommodation nearby. We picked out Shibuya accommodation that will ensure you are happy with the accommodation you have booked for your trip.

Love hotels

Shibuya, just like Shinjuku, is famous for many love hotels, particularly in an area called “Love Hotel Hill”. Hotels generally provide places in which you can stay if you want to spend some of the day and some nights.

These aren’t your typical hotel rooms because men are using the room for short periods of privacy. There are definite guidelines at the hotel and security guarantees are maintained. I wrote some additional information in our Tokyo Adult Guides. Love hotels appeared in several recent movies, Among them are 2020 Lost Girls & Love Hotels.

Capsule hotels

What can be done in Shibuya? Get away from taverna hotels! It makes sense to have no money to get a cab home after a fun day at work or to live too long to walk. Capsule hotels provide an ideal solution as they allow you time to get your sleep. As the title explains, it sleeps on capsules. The hotels generally serve only males, though some are also geared toward women. Each capsule includes alarming equipment and a television. The capsules are much larger in older hotels and have additional amenities like large chairs and tables.

Odaiba, or how it is usually called Daiba, is a Utopia, the town of the future as the Japanese see it. The district’s name originates from the batteries built in the 19th century to protect the city from the invasion of the Black Ships (Western ships that attacked Tokyo at the end of the Edo period).

How Odaiba Was Created

“Daiba” is a Japanese word that means batteries. By the end of the 20th century, only two of six batteries (the third and the sixth) had been maintained. The district was in an awful condition in the middle of the 1980s – a huge deserted dump area.

At the beginning of the 90s, the municipal government noticed, at last, the misallocation of the valuable ground and decided to turn it into a gigantic recreation center. In a few years, on the manmade embankment, the new town appeared where the most innovative ideas and the boldest projects have been fulfilled.

On the territory wrested from the sea modern business and commercial centers, large-scale showrooms, huge sports buildings, and recreation centers have been built.

Palette Town

The center of the district is Palette Town where the main attractions of Odaiba are located: Venus Fort, Mega Web, Aqua City, and others. You can easily find Palette Town because the world’s biggest Ferris wheel towers over it.

It is one hundred and fifteen meters high. There are always a lot of tourists who want to admire the bird’s-eye view of the city. At night when the Ferris wheel is artistically illuminated, it turns into one of the most popular dating places.

The futuristic Fuji TV building

The futuristic Fuji TV building designed by fashionable Japanese architect Kenzo Tange is one of the main landmarks in Odaiba. On the 25th floor, there is an excellent observation gallery in the form of a gigantic glass globe, from where the breathtaking panorama of Tokyo and the gulf opens.

Guests can also visit a real TV studio and take a picture with the mascot of Fuji Company – Rafu-Kun.

Venus Fort

Venus Fort is a “town in town”, built especially for women. From the outside it looks rather dejectedly – it reminds of a military hangar for airplanes, but inside it is a modern shopping center, exquisitely decorated in Italian style.

Marble fountains, paved streets, arched galleries – everything for you to relax, imagine yourself in some 18th-century Italian town, the town of your dreams, and forget about reality.

There are even sunsets every two hours because psychologists affirm that people are more disposed to waste money in the nighttime.

About 150 fashionable shops are waiting for their customers and are always glad to offer the ultimate collection of famous designers all over the world.

Toyota’s Mega Web Showroom In Odaiba

Mega Web is a huge Toyota Company’s showroom, where the newest achievements in engineering, as well as the models of the 50-70s provoking nostalgia for old good times, are displayed.

There you can drive any car you like in a special pavilion that stretches for 1,4 km. In addition, you can experience automatic driving in a small electric vehicle which is the ultimate model of Toyota Company.

Who knows maybe it is a vehicle of the future. You can also visit an open design studio and watch the professional design work with your own eyes. Those who want to try their hand at car engineering can make a project of a new model in a special design workshop.

Aqua City

In Aqua City there are around 150 restaurants and cafes, considered to be simply the best in Tokyo, and the largest in Japan shopping mall. The ultramodern cinema Multiplex with 13 screens is equipped with state-of-the-art video and audio technologies.

It reminds us of a gigantic stadium that can accommodate more than 3,000 visitors at once.

Sega Joypolis
