New portfolio launched!

The reason behind this move was to provide a clear, concise interface to show my work, rather than having it all under the same umbrella, like it has been the last 6 months or so. Wrapping up Uni for the semester

A long and hectic semester is coming to an end, although I have mixed feelings about it. My plans now is to get everything handed in on time, then I’m going to update my portfolio with some of the work from this semester (maybe a design update too?).

In my effort to procrastinate from Uni work, I’ve joined tumblr. Basically, I want to keep this blog on point with my design work and ramblings around design. Sometimes that goes hand in hand with other topics, sometimes it doesn’t. One of the topics I do spend a lot of time looking at and browsing for is skateboarding. Drop Cap Typography Exercise

Just finished a tutorial in typography, this is the result. I think it came out quite good, some issues with word spacing that I need to fix. Set in Goudy Old Style 11/13pt with 5pt spacing after paragraph. Drop cap is a digitised woodtype I found floating around the Internet. Can’t remember where.

So, here you go! This is the current state of production for SMØRBRØD. We are now at 112 pages + Cover, 7 Feature Interviews, 2 Pictorials, and 3 General Articles. The size may increase/decrease in the coming weeks, but I’m confident that this is as close to the final line-up as I can get.

iPad Skateboard. Will It Shred?

Built to Shred’s Jeff King and pro skater, Chad Knight, test out the skateboarding capabilities of the iPad. First, whether or not it can be used as a skateboard, and second, how effective it can be as a ramp extension. Quote, unquote. This is pretty funny and disturbing at the same time. Oh well, what don’t you do for entertainment.

Yep. It’s on, it’s crunch time. As the month of May is coming to a close, so does this semester of Uni, and with that the deadline for Smørbrød. And all the other stuff I’m doing for Uni as well, so I’m just slightly freaking out over the workload at the moment.

That being said, if I hadn’t started the magazine project early, it would not have happened. Thankfully, I’ve had a whole bunch of interview subjects being …

This is definitely going on the wishlist for my birthday! Looks bloody sick filming and trick-wise. I think it has one of the longest b/s tail slides I’ve ever seen. Maybe I don’t watch enough skateboarding, but f*”#!
