Our Lady of Grace to host 11th annual NiteFest and FunFest in Hoboken

Our Lady of Grace Church will host the 11th annual FunFest weekend and NiteFest on Saturday evening, June 4 and all day Sunday, June 5. The non-profit fundraiser takes on new importance this year because proceeds will fund the church's restoration project, which is critical to preserving one of Hoboken's oldest churches and nationally-registered historic places. Our Lady of Grace was founded in 1851.

The campaign Wear Orange has recruited a number of politicians throughout the Garden State to don the color Thursday to honor the life of Hadiya Pendleton, a 15-year-old high schooler from Chicago gunned down in 2013.

HOBOKEN - After approving a Washington Street resurfacing and redesign plan in February that effectively preserves parallel parking but omits protected bike lanes, the City Council is scheduled to vote Wednesday night to take on $12 million in debt to pay for it. Ordinance Z-416 on the agenda for Wednesday night's unusually late 8:30 p.m. meeting would authorize the issuance of $12 million in bonds to pay for a broad array of improvements to Washington Street, including a resurfacing of the city's potholed main shopping and entertainment thoroughfare .
