Google Buzz in News - Lawsuit Complaint Filed Over Google Buzz

Buzz on Google Buzz - Since after launch Google Buzz is in news daily, to add into latest action a complaint has been filed in San Jose federal court on Wednesday on behalf of Eva Hibnick, a Florida woman, by law firms in San Francisco and Washington, D.C. William Audet of Audet & Partners LLP in San Francisco.

Eva Hibnick alleges on behalf of all Gmail user's that Google Inc. broke the law when its controversial Google Buzz service shared personal data without the consent of users.

The legal complaint accuses Google of breaking various electronic communications laws, including the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act. The plaintiff is seeking injunctions to prevent the company from taking similar actions in the future, and unspecified monetary relief.

Finally we got into much awaited Google Buzz, I feel it's the Google way of engaging their user's with emerging social networking or Web2.0/3.0 channels. While at the initial go Google Buzz looks like a combination of Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, Slideshare, Yahoo Buzz, Digg, Docstoc to name a few and Email at last...all at One Place - At Your Gmail!.

Buzz launched yesterday on 9th Feb, 2010...Google Buzz is not available to many user's in it's initial launched stage but it will be accessible to all Gmail user's in coming next few days.....Like I too got access to Buzz today on 10th Feb.

Here's the welcome message you'll see from Google if you get the Buzz access once you log in to your Gmail.

What? Are you an SEO Expert

So What you know about SEO (Search Engine Optimization) - Here's the SEOMoz Quiz Test Results which I went through today 0n 21st January, 2010 at 20:30 hours. Well the story behind undergoing SEOmoz test is, I was feeling bored while working, eventually I thought to check Google rankings for my site for some of my optimized keywords. Obviously "SEO Expert" is the keyword for which every SEO Company, Professional wants to get ranked and found in Google top-10 positions.

Here's also another story to share with, actually my site/blog's are already in Google Top-10 results for many of keywords out of them one is "Search Engine Marketing Professional", last night I did some re-optimization and made tweak's in meta tag's for www.afzalkhan.org Home Page to target SEO Expert, Google SEO Experts and all such keyword phrases replacing my already ranking keywords Search Engine Marketing Professional, Online Marketing Professional & Internet Marketing Experts etc. It's basic the rankings for my earlier keywords will drop, and to measure it's effects, to calculate the positioning for newly optimized keywords at Google I was going through Google spider/bot activity and to take a note of last Google cached results of my website. I jumped to check currently ranking websites for "SEO Expert" keyword and during that I found SEOmoz SEO quiz page at Google top-10 listings.

During my earlier days when I was learning and mastering the SEO skills I went through many of such SEO quizes but taking this test was real joy after many years gap. First I wanted to check where do I stand now in industry, and all the SEO knowledge which I gained over a period is up to date now and many more reasons :-)

Well to sum-up, according to SEOmoz this quiz will not take more than 30 minutes, while I completed it in 26 mins (saved 4 minutes...Yippi). While the biggest dis-appointment for me is some wrong answers to questions which I recorded. Between on reading my wrong responses again I realize they were not directly related to SEO, the questions were about Search Engine's in general (I am just trying to motivate myself )...Hmm my short story on SEOquiz ends here. I have marked all of my responses in RED where I went wrong just to make it easier for people who will be next to take on SEOmoz SEO Expert Quiz (No cheating, if you honestly want to check your SEO skills don't see my results). Google Caffeine when announced first back in August created the strong buzz among Online community, SEO folks, website owner's and many people started comparing their rankings with Caffeine and Universal Search. Too some Google Caffeine results were exciting and too many they didn't experienced much changes, but all were on same page regarding Caffeine quick, faster and accurate results, also the crawling were increased to much larger extent with relevant results.

Google made the Caffeine available to Power Searches and all other people till today at http://www2.sandbox.google.com/

Today I found Google Caffeine says:-
"We appreciate all the feedback from people who searched on our Caffeine sandbox.

Based on the success we've seen, we believe Caffeine is ready for a larger audience. Soon we will activate Caffeine more widely, beginning with one data center. It’s official, Google Caffeine is going live.

Lovingtech.net - Webmaster & Tech Forum Review

A couple of weeks ago, I got an email from one of my Blog reader asking about any good webmaster forums in my knowledge which I would recommend him to join.

On drilling down his email further I figured out he got frustrated of being member to many of known webmaster and technology forum's. He just want to concentrate and get active on limited but informative forum's. It's all about quality information online not quantity.

I think we all look for same, being a Online Marketer I do want to utilize my limited time getting involved on useful webmaster forum's. Certainly maximum percentage of online user's are wasting there time on worthless site or forum's, that's what make them frustrated or divert their interest's to look for another new source online.

There are so many forum's available online where you will notice instead of logical or materialistic discussion, they are involved in promoting their own products or services or you'll find many forum member's are promoting themselves, serving outdated information or discussing on how to make money online or even involved in personal attack's violating forum rule's.

Honest members who joined the forum's looking for real information or want to share/discuss their problems are not getting answered. All such scenario makes them looking for another forum...and so on 90% of forum member's leave them straight away and hop to another forum. Again same situation which make them to jump over another forum.

I believe it's better to pick out best online site's, forum's, blog resources based on our interest and get active out there. Investment of time on best informative forum's is like a investment of your precious time and money, so pick them wisely.

Back to my Blog reader email, he has been asking me for webmaster forum's which I would recommend him to Join where he could find good information on Online marketing subject along with a mix of other interesting Tech related topics.

Google Sitelink - What are Google Sitelinks & How to control which Links to show at SERP's

Have you ever noticed some additional links shown at Google Organic Search Results while you searched for something on Google. You will find Google will show sub-pages/URL's along with main domain for top ranking website.

Sitelinks are these additional links which Google show's at search engine result page's for #1 ranking website, while many times Google also shows Sitelinks for top-10 ranking websites.

Above screenshot show's how Google show's website sitelinks, I believe all those who were not aware now knows what are Sitelinks and how it shows at Google. It is important for you to try get your website internal page's get picked by Google and displayed as Sitelinks by making your website navigation user and crawler friendly.

I randomly did a search for "Shoes" where Google is displaying Shoes.com at #1 position along with subpage's as Sitelinks

Google show's Sitelinks only when their algorithm finds internal webpage URL's qualifies to get displayed as Sitelinks based on navigation which has to be easy for user's, provide easy access to crawler etc.

The purpose of showing Sitelinks is purely to help online user or searcher to easily jump on relevant webpage at one click.

As said your internal website page's will qualify to be shown as Sitelinks only when they qualify Google standard's of which important one is your own website navigational structure which often many webmaster's ignore.

In order to help Google find the page's you want to be included as Sitelinks, you need to link all such page's on your websites top navigation, left navigation and as Footer links. All this links has to have occurrence of atleast twice or thrice from every website page.

To my observation I found Google pick Sitelinks URL's mainly from Top Navigation & Left Navigation Link structure. Also to make a note Google display's maximum Eigth (8) internal webpages as Sitelinks, sometimes 3, 4, 5 and so on but not more than 8 for a domain.

Gandhi lived modestly in a self-sufficient residential community and wore the traditional Indian dhoti and shawl, woven with yarn he had hand spun on a charkha. He ate simple vegetarian food, and also undertook long fasts as a means of both self-purification and social protest.

Google Introduces New Search Feature to SERP's - Displaying Forum Posts & Discussions Related to Search

Google's Johanna Wright, Director of Product Management today announced a new feature which Google will show at their regular Search Engine Results Page's (SERP's). This new search feature will include and show the forum postings and discussion related to what user is searching for along with the usual organic results to serve user with helpful information.

This new addition to Google search results applies to sites that tend to have a large number of posts on a specific topic. When several different discussions on a site are relevant to search query, Google indent them under the primary result and include the date of each post.

Let's say if we search for "google head office" you will see various details from that forums or discussion board topics including Title of that topics, latest post date, number of posts, and a list of relevant discussions.

According to Google, we hope this feature gives you a deeper view into the relevant content available on sites throughout the web — even when that content spans multiple pages or discussions. At the same time, the main search results are diverse as always — so if you can't pinpoint a useful comment there's a list of relevant sites there to help.

Everyone of us who attended the Google Analytic Conversion University seminar has enjoyed the great hospitality and kindness received from all of the folks from Google India.
