A dot in the distance, slowly getting closer then quickly getting almost too close. Hold your camera steady, you only get so long to get the shot and then it’s gone, back towards the horizon. It’s the Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team the Red Arrows screaming by with 7000 kg (15,000+ lbs) pushed by a Rolls-Royce Adour Mk 151 powerplant flying at 1,000 km/h (640 mph).¹

Alex was there with his trusty Canon. “I was on the ground & tracked the Red Arrow until it looked right for the shot, then fired several frames & this one stood out, but I also have other good photo’s from that shoot.”

He continued to say, after asked what he was trying to get in shots like this, “I love the Red Arrows & in the past used to take movies of them, more recently I have gone over to DSLR, & now like to get as close as I can & try to get photo’s that others don’t.“

A Red Arrow Hawk fan for many years, Alex likes to watch the Red Arrows when they are based at Bournemouth Airport. “I always go to the end of the runway when they take off & land, just to get that special shot. I was at a display last year & got a nice photograph of them & it is now on the ‘Red Arrows site’ in the fanzone area, something I am quite proud of.”

I think this Red Arrow pilot also likes your pictures. This is another picture that Alex took that I really like. When I asked Alex about this photo he said “Yes a few people have mentioned about that, it shows they care about the public & I was again very happy to capture that picture.”

Alex is obviously an accomplished photographer who’s enjoyment shows in his photos. I asked him what he personally enjoyed about photography. “I want that special photograph, whether it is a plane in the right position, a person with the right look, a bird with it’s wings looking like an angel. This is one of the enjoyments of taking photographs & I hope I have given others enjoyment in the photographs I have taken.”

I asked Alex if he had a favorite photo from this group. “My favourite is the Red Arrow in the Sunset. I was going out for a meal on a hot Saturday night but remembered the Red Arrows were due to land at the airport at 8.45, roughly about the time the Sun would be setting. I wanted a shot of the Red Arrows landing in the Sunset, so I put the meal back & went up to the airport, unfortunately there were lots & lots of Mosquitoes around & I got bite’s all over me, & the Red Arrows didn’t turn up. But my waiting & Pain was worth it when One Red Arrow came in & I got that one Red Arrow in the Sunset. We learnt later the Red Arrows had landed earlier than they planned.”

Well Alex, we are not glad you got bug bit but we do appreciate what you go through to bring us such great pictures.

The area is just East of Wadsworth Falls State Park and it is South of West Long Hill.

From Highway 17 also called S Main St, go West on Brush Hill Road. Turn North on Long Hill Road until it runs into Wesleyan Hills Road where you will need to turn left or West. Wesleyan Hills Road turns into Long Hill Road. Turn left or West onto Daniels St then left South on Laurel Grove Rd.

Red Hot Chili Peppers .com is the official website for the musical group Red Hot Chili Peppers. The home page is simple and artistic with three choices, Drive In, News, and Log In.

Now that we are past the splash page we are at the true home page. Someone is trying to be a bit too artistic here. There is a car with For Sale written on it but it is reversed. Gee, I guess that means that image has been Photoshoped and reversed. Well, the sky looks cool.

There is a red logo in the upper left corner but don’t click on it. It doesn’t do anything. I would have thought it would return me to the home page from other pages but it doesn’t.

I clicked on “Log In” and learned I could join their fan club and be “instantly be on fire!” There are three levels of fandom, Silver, Gold and Free Message Board Access. The Silver gives you a free blog page, priority ticketing, and limited edition merchandise offers. Go Gold and get a “2007 fan designed RHCP baseball cap!¹ I went through the steps and zammo, I’m a Red Hot Chili Peppers Fan! Cool, as a side note, when I was a D.J. I played the Red Hot Chili Peppers a lot.

I logged in and wished I lived in a city were I could see them because purchasing tickets through the site is very easy. Back to the site.

I clicked on Drive In and am greeted by the backdrop and menu on the left. At the top of the menu is a red box, when you slide it back and forth, the backdrop scrolls left and right. Nice effect, not sure what it is for.

News bring up the last three RSS headlines, links to the News Archive, news search and the ability to sign up for the RSS feed. They have a link for the ability to display their news on my site but it was not working.

I noticed on the left that more options have opened up including Band News, Press Releases, Tour Notes, Bio and Alerts.

I clicked on Band News and it gave me the last three Band News posts but the RSS sign up was for the What’s New RSS feed NOT the Band News, bummer.

Forget about Tour News, there is not any.

Bio is a quick Biography from back at their first album, Stadium Arcadium. It does not include anything recent.

Alerts is NOT for Red Alerts about Red Hot Chili Peppers, at least I don’t think so, there is nothing here.

Fleamail takes you to the 2006 and 2007 journal postings of Flea aka Michael Peter Balzary, the bass player for the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Community has Blogs, Msg Boards, Chat, Gallery, Ask RHCP, S.O.T.M., Members, and Profile. It opens with two questions that people have asked the Red Hot Chili Peppers. However, when I clicked on Read Replies or Answer, neither had either.

There is some meat to the blogs. Dave Rat blogs about his experience as a roadie for the Red Hot Chili Peppers. I learned that main stage had “15 deep V-Dosc with triple dV’s under, 6 V’s over 6 dV’s on the side hangs and a thundering 40 Rat Subs across front.”²

I tried to click onto the other Community links but none work while looking at blogs. I had to click out of the Community then go back in to get to Msg Boards. There have been over 26,000 posts in the Funky Monks Message Board who’s content is described as “Discuss the Red Hot Chili Peppers! Their music, news, reviews, magazine articles, info, anything and everything band related.”

I tried to load chat but my membership level did not allow me access to the area. So I clicked back on Community. Ouch, they have a bad link that took me to a 404 page. Someone put a < b > bold into the link url.

Gallery was another disappointment. No photos at all, no promos nothing. The S.O.T.M. is Site of the Month, which there aren’t any. Members shows me nothing because of my level but I’m trapped again. 404 broken links on all the navigation on the left, the < b > problem again.

Because nothing new is in the Tickets section, I’ll assume the Red Hot Chili Peppers are not touring this year.

Exclusives has videos for Hump de Bump, Snow, Dani California, Tell Me Baby, and Suck My Kiss. (Don’t click the “More” button, there isn’t any.)

I tried to look at the Photos but you have to pay the $25+ membership to see them. A band making you pay to see their photos?

More bad website navigation on the Discography section. I clicked on “View all Albums…” and it only showed me one. The cool thing here is that when you click on the albums, you can then click on the words to get the lyrics.

Under “Store” they only have 5 of their 12 albums for sale. bummer.

I’ll have to say it, I like the music but the Red Hot Chili Peppers website could be a little better. It is fancy but how does that help me. I would have liked a few photographs of the group.

Google put the place marker at the Southeast corner of Moss Grove. Moss Grove is named again inside the complex so I would assume that the East/West road is also Moss Grove. But that road could be the Red Street.

This is my first UK street so I wanted to pull way out and see the whole country and were Newcastle-under-Lyme was compared to the rest of the country.

Red is a Primary Color

In the RGB (red green blue) additive color system, red is a primary color. Primary colors are used to mix and make other colors. The RGB system is used in light applications like TV and computer screens.

There are quite a few red pigments including alizarin, brazilin, crimson, mercury oxide, red lead, red ochre, and scarlet.

Nature of Red

Starting with ourselves, we are living with about six quarts of red blood running through us. In nature we have red foxes, squirrels and deer. Some of us have a best friend who is a red irish setter. We look up and see Mars, colored red because of iron oxide. Further out in space, the stars that look red are the coolest, that is they have a surface temperature less than 5,500° f.

Big Red

Who is big red? Apparently there are a lot of big reds. There is a drink, gum, movie, book, brand of liquors, a dog and several sports teams that call themselves “Big Red.”

Red Movies and Music

The IMDb lists over a dozen movies that are titled “Red.” Netflix has six movies titled “Red” available. Other movies reviewed are “Red Dawn,” “Red Sonja,” “Red Heat,” “Red Dragon,” “Red Garden,” and “The Red Violin” to name just a few.

We will listen to songs about red including “Red, Red Wine” by UB40, “Little Red Corvette” by Prince, and “Lady in Red” by Chris Deburgh.
