KiD CuDi - LIVE IN CONCERT - NOV 28 - KOOL HAUS

Dates: November 28, 2009 to November 29, 2009
Location: KOOL HAUS (132 Queens Quay East, Toronto, Ontario)
THE SUBSTANCE GROUP & REMG ENTERTAINMENT PRESENT
KiD CuDi
with guests Keys N Krates
music by DJ Riccachet & DJ Thera-P (Sweet Touch Foundation)

The Substance Group & REMG Entertainment are proud to present KiD CuDi live in concert at The Kool Haus on Saturday, November 28.

Brooklyn-based rapper KiD CuDi first gained attention after the release of his debut mixtape A KiD named CuDi, released in collaboration with New York street wear brand 10.Deep. The stand out single "Day 'N' Nite" became a massive hit in 2008, peaking at number 3 on Billboard Hot 100 and ruling the U.K. Dance Tracks charts.

Following the success of the single, CuDi caught the attention of Kanye West, and was recruited to lend his vocals on Kanye's 2008 album 808s & Heartbreak, singing with him on the track named "Welcome to Heartbreak", providing additional vocals on "Paranoid" and helping with songwriting on "Heartless". The same year CuDi signed with Kanye's G.O.O.D Music Label and performed at the 2008 VMAs along side Travis Barker and DJ AM.

KiD CuDis music fuses alternative rock, hip-hop and occasionally R & B, to form feel-good and emotionally conscious records. His debut album, Man on the Moon: The End of Day was released in September 2009 and features guest spots from Kanye West, Common, Snoop Dogg, Ratatat, MGMT, Clipse, 88-Keys and Chip tha Ripper.

After sampling Lady Gaga's "Poker Face" on the hit tune "Make Her Say" from his debut album, CuDi will be hitting to road with Lady Gaga herself, supporting her on The Monster Ball North American Tour, rolling into town this November. Adding to the deafening online buzz, CuDi has been tipped as an artist to watch in such authoritative print outlets as Rolling Stone, Vibe, The Source, Interview, and XXL.

DELHI 2 DUBLIN - LIVE IN CONCERT - NOV 24 - LULA LOUNGE

Dates: November 24, 2009 to November 25, 2009
Location: LULA LOUNGE (1585 Dundas St. W, Toronto, Ontario)
REMG Entertainment is proud to present Delhi 2 Dublin live in concert at Lula Lounge on Tuesday, November 24.

Vancouver-based Delhi 2 Dublin is a group of five musicians who mash up electronica and world music, keeping it heavy on the Bhangra, Celtic and Dub flavours. Fusing tabla, fiddle, dhol, Punjabi vocals, and electric sitar with scorching electronic beats, the crew takes listeners on a wild ride through global sounds and synchronicities.

A short history: In 2006, a couple of Punjabi guys walked into an Irish Pub where a hot fiddler was playing. After her set they shared some drinks, some thoughts, and lots of profanity. They became fast friends and decided to walk to a nearby warehouse to check out a DJ playing at an afterhours party. On the way, they noticed a Korean guy busking with his sitar outside of a 99 cent pizza place. Upon buying the sitar dude a slice they decided that he should just come and party with them too. He did. The DJ at the party ended up being pretty decent, so after his gig the group of four invited him to go eat. He went. The food was okay, the service sucked, and the rest is history.

The band has played some of North America's biggest and best festivals including SXSW, Bumbershoot, Stern Grove, High Sierra Festival, Shambhala, Hillside, Vancouver International Jazz Festival, and The Regina Folk Festival. In March 2009, they were awarded a BravoFACT! grant to film their first music video for the track Apples. They were also recently awarded the Western Canadian Music Award for Best World Music Recording, 2009. The band has been featured many times on CBC radio and were the subject of an hour long documentary on CBC TV; they have also been interviewed on BBC Radio 1 in the UK and on NPR in the US.

The band is currently recording their second full length album while maintaining a busy touring schedule, traipsing around the globe, mashing beats and breaking strings - and basically having the time of their lives doing it.

Last Year's Nujazz Festival Quotes,Press & Links

Astute promoter Jay Cleary has noted that theres a large opening in Toronto for a festival presenting jazz artists whod appeal to a younger club-going demographic for whom dusty Dixieland and boring big band jams have little relevance. - Tim Perlich - NOW MAGAZINE Spotlight on Nujazz Festival & Hypnotic Brass Ensemble

While Toronto has seen its fair share of festivals focused on the funkier and more electronic side of contemporary jazz the Acid Jazz, Urban Rhythm and Jazz By Genre fests, for example Jay Cleary and his busy NuFunk promotions crew are showing us whats really good with their three-night, four-event Nujazz Festival... boasting a wicked assortment of local, national and international talent. - Denise Benson - EYE Magazine Spotlight on Nujazz Festival & Herbaliser
