Torrie Wilson has always made news around the globe as a professional wrestler in the World Wrestling Entertainment, or what we all would want to call the WWE. While most of us know that the wrestling ring is predominantly a time for men to put out a victory screech, women have eventually entered in the scene to show the world that not all women are damsels in distress. Torrie Wilson, one of the known women wrestlers in WWE has proven that not all women are just known for beauty contests, and they are not only made to be dressed on frills. They can certainly whip up a good fight whenever they want to.

Torrie Wilson always wanted to become a star, but just as most of the stories go, the road to stardom did not become too good for her. She did not became an overnight superstar with her good looks to match her personality. Eventually, after a few auditions and finally getting in, the first agency that was able to consider her talent told her that she would be turned down, if she would not be able to put up with the extra pounds that she had back then. Because of this, she suffered from both anorexia and bulimia, but all of her hardships paid off when she managed to enter the WWE, considering the fact that she was not a wrestling aficionado before. She was on the hot list since she entered the WWE in 2001, but after a few years as a successful woman wrestler, she eventually retired and embarked on new projects.

She, along with her current beau, former Spirit Squad member Nick Mitchell, has opened up a clothing line called Jaded. Its branch is located in The Woodlands, Texas, and it has considerably attracted a lot of supporters since it first came up. The clothing line offers a wide selection of apparels which are sought after for everyday use, but with an added twist into it. Men and women would certainly love to shop in this clothing line, as it brings a lot of hip and sophistication in their looks.

However, if there is a good news which came into their way, there is also a bad news. Torrie Wilson has decided to retire from her wrestling stint because of a back pain that has supposedly started from her work as a wrestler. Upon asking whether about the cause for her back pain, she just quips that she does not have any regrets on entering the career that she has now, and that she was entirely glad to make a name in the WWE world. As of this moment, news has it that Torrie Wilson’s surgery has been successful, and all she needs to do is to rest for a while to recover from it. She is currently thinking to embark on a vacation in Mexico. All in all, Torrie Wilson is well, and for sure, she will focus more on her new clothing line.

Torrie Wilson is a typical example of a girl who merely wished to become a star and like a dream comes true, she triumphantly reached her dreams. It’s a fairytale-come-true for her. But her way to stardom was never easy at all, when she was just starting and she wanted to auditioned as a model, the agency refused to accept her if she wont be able to loss enough weight. Perhaps because of her desperation to land a job in showbiz, she exhausts all means just to get the body that they want her to possess. This leaves her being anorectic and bulimic. She fought the battle with the illness for many years therefore leaving her with no choice but to just give up her craving of being a model.

But like everyone says that when a door is closed, a window is surely opened. She finds her way to the WWE where she made a big name. Although she confesses that she never really watch wrestling when she was young, she would say that she became a fan of Hulk Hogan during her childhood years. Blessings poured on her and she was chosen to grace the cover of Playboy magazine and other popular magazines like the FHM last September 2006.

Working for WWE is not easy at all, she now find herself traveling down the road for up to 300 days in one year. To keeps her company, she decided to own a Maltese which she named Chloe. She never want to become bulimic again so she tries to work out at least four days in one week which consist of an hour of cardio and half an hour for weights lifting. This perseverance is shown with her trimmed body. Torrie is also well-known for her friendly nature. She is Stacy Keibler’s confidant in fact; they even shared a room in Los Angeles, California way back. Despite her busy lifestyle, she manages to keep a good marriage. After being together for four long years, Peter Gruner and Torrie Wilson finally decided to marry each other on the 11th of July, 2003. They build their home in Tampa, Florida but after 3 years of being married, they lastly filed for divorce which is a better ending for the two. With all the lucky things she receives, although divorced she continue to live a happy and content life.

Because of her accomplishments, she decided to go to Los Angeles in order to pursue acting. She took up various acting classes that mold her skills in one way or another. Torrie Wilson has the ticket to land a job in the showbiz world because of her looks, body and talent. Her agent never encountered any problem looking for job that would suit her. She even appeared on Baywatch. But it was primarily wrestling that would become of her major role. Nowadays, she is one of the most famous WWE diva there is. You can ask people who watch the show about their favorite female performer and that surely includes Torrie Wilson. She is one of the greatest assets of the WWE world. Aside from doing the stunt, she sometimes appears as the ring announcer.

Her fame could be credited to Kevin Nash who is discovered her during the days with the World Championship Wrestling. Torrie Wilson landed on a small role as a valet for league’s nominee. She is the one that lead them to the ring with her almost perfect body amazing everyone as she moves down the aisles. From this not-so-famous role, she finally landed as a WWE “Divas”. She is among the girls on those “bikini” and “lingerie” matches with Stacy Keibler, Sable, and Tracy Stratus. The boys love her. The boys specially love her body. She had proven that girls are not all about good looks; in fact, she only shows that women can be as strong as these men therefore somehow eliminating the belief of “weaker sex”.

Torrie Wilson had started from begin the shy girl in her school but in the end, who would even think that she can make it big in the industry? She shows that when you want something, the universe can work together for you to get them. Just believe in your ability and do your best to improve your weaknesses and you’ll see, you can surely be that somebody that you want!

It was during her sophomore years in high school when she started to gain interest in modeling with the support coming up from her mom. But because Torrie Wilson’s body is a bit big, the agency told her that she had to lose some weight to be considered for her job. She openly accepted the idea but during the process, she meets the battle for anorexia and bulimia. At 20 and had already recovered from the illness, she begun to be involved in fitness. Torrie began working out and building muscles. She is a part of the Women’s Tri-Fitness Championships in the year 1998 and won in the first Grace and Physique round.

Torrie Wilson then is a booming fitness model which eventually led her to land on the wrestling business. She had never thought in her entire life that she’ll have a career in wrestling. It all started when she came to attend the World Championship Wrestling where she was asked to go out to the ring together with the famous Scott Steiner. She’s a natural crowd charmer and this is exactly why Kevin Nash- also a wrestler finally expressed his interest in creating a storyline with her. She started being ‘Samantha” who had to convince David flair to turn on his father, Ric Flair.

After then, she left the industry and when she returned during the year 1999, she uses her real name. She is now being managed both by Billy Kidman and his mates. Her success in both World Championship Wrestling and in World Wrestling Entertainment as a valet and diva had made her become the third in a line of several WWE divas to pose nude in Playboy. Also, she also poses on the cover of the September 2006 issue of FHM magazine. A few months before the release of the magazine, WWE created a storlyline feud with Nidia because the latter was jealous that she wasn’t chosen to pose for the cover. In a weekly vignettes, both Nidia and Jamie Noble which is her on-screen boyfriend went to Playboy Mansion just to complain about their upheavals of choosing Torrie Wilson over Nidia.
