Nintendo is all about fixing their reputation lately and getting people hyped about their games. Now, in what seems like a very effective way of reducing the cost of doing business, Nintendo is cutting out the middleman.(Your local games shops). How are they doing this? Well, Nintendo UK intends to be a fully stocked and happening online store, selling all kinds of games and consoles from its current product lines. nintendo-uk-online And yes, this will be completely different from Nintendo’s US online retail effort, which just redirects users to other retailers.

The UK site will ship to consumers straight from the company’s stock. It is just you and the company. No middle man. How about delivery cost? Well, you my friend will have free delivery.
Orders over £200 will qualify for next day, and there is also a 12-month extended warranty for consoles. Frankly this all sounds too good to be true. Fujitsu Lifebook U904 Ultrabook Breaks Cover

Fujitsu has unveiled a new notebook computer today including the Lifebook U904 Ultrabook that you see here. The machine is 15.5 mm thick and weighs 1.39 kg. The notebook is aimed directly at the mobile business professional that means a notebook with decent power and portability. The notebook features a 14-inch frameless WQHD+ IGZO display and supports touch interaction.

The keyboard is backlit for working in dark environments and the machine has a number of security features. Buyers can also choose for optional embedded 4G LTE capability to stay connected on the go. The notebook runs Windows 8.1 or Windows 7 Pro. Several processor options are available ranging from a Core i5 up to a Core i7-4600U processor.

The notebook can be fitted with up to 10 GB of RAM and ships with 2 GB installed. Various storage options are available including SSDs up to 512 GB. Other features include a pair of USB 3.0 ports, and HDMI output, a pair of internal microphones, a docking port connector, and a memory card reader. The 14-inch LED backlit panel has a native resolution of 3200 x 1800. An optional screen with the same specifications is available with an anti-glare coating, but it doesn’t support touch interaction.

Xbox One Controller Guided Tour (video)

Previously it has been announced by Microsoft that the new Xbox One controller will be compatible with PC systems next year, together with a few details about the Xbox One controllers design and functionality.

However now Microsoft has released a 5 minute promotional video providing more details on the design of their new Xbox One controller that will be shipping with their next generation Xbox One games console later this year.

In the video below Quintin Morris, a senior product designer for Microsoft, takes gamers on a guided tour of the features you can expect to enjoy using the new Xbox One controller.

When the new Xbox One console launches later this year we will be able to physically test whether the design changes do actually offer enhanced control and ergonomics over the previous controller, or whether it is all just part of the Microsoft Xbox One hype machine.

The Microsoft Xbox One console will be powered by a customised AMD Jaguar 8 core processor and will also feature a graphics processor that is tailored for Direct X 11. graphics and comes with 32MB of high bandwidth embedded ESRAM.

The 8GB of RAM on the Xbox one is DDR3, and will be capable of rting full HD video in 1080p and the new 4k video, it will also offer full 7.1 surround sound support.

Roccat Reveals New Kave XTD 5.1 Gaming Headset

This week Roccat have launched a new addition to their range of gaming headsets with the launch of the new Roccat Kave XTD 5.1 which builds on their previous gaming headset the Kave 5.1.

The latest Roccat Kave XTD 5.1 comes equipped with its own desktop remote fitted with its own dedicated premium 5.1 sound card.

Other new features on the Roccat Kave XTD 5.1 include a handy patented technology called Smart Link that allows users to pair their smartphone device to the Roccat Kave XTD 5.1 remote via Bluetooth. Once this is done gamers can then answer and make calls without the need to remove their headset. Roccat explains a little more about their nee gaming headset.

Google’s Nexus 7 was the best small tablet of 2012. Rather than mess with success, Google did something uncharacteristically conservative: It made little improvements here and there and left the rest mostly as is. The result? This year’s Nexus 7 is more low rumble than tectonic shift, but it’s still our new favorite tablet. For now, at least.

What Is It?

It’s Google’s new 7-inch tablet. The hardware was made by Asus, and the operating system is the latest and greatest pure Android experience from Google (Android 4.3 Jelly Bean). It starts at the very easy entry point of $230 for the 16GB Wi-Fi version.
Who’s It For?

Commuters, travelers. People who want their tablets to be as portable as possible. People who do a lot of reading on their tablets. Gamers. People who want a more capable e-book reader

Nexus 7

Design

This tablet could fit in the rear pocket of a lot of people’s jeans, and almost everybody’s jacket. That’s a huge advantage. It comes in at 7.87 x 4.49 x 0.34 inches, versus 7.81 x 4.72 x 0.41 inches on the 2012 Nexus 7. In other words it got only slightly longer, but noticeably narrower and thinner. It also only weighs 10.5 ounces verses 12 ounces for the last version. The result is a tablet that doesn’t feel quite as bulky, which was one of the main knocks against the previous iteration. It has a soft-touch plastic back (non-removable) and sadly no removable battery or expandable storage slot.

Despite that slimming down, the new Nexus 7 got fat with pixels. Its HD IPS screen has a resolution of 1920 x 1200 for a pixel density of 323 pixels per inch (PPI). That’s an unprecedented resolution from a tablet this size-or any size (the current-generation iPad has a PPI of 264, while the iPad mini is stuck at a sad 163. There are now two separate speakers-one on each side if you’re holding it landscape-to give the tablet actual stereo sound. The whole thing is powered by a 1.5 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro CPU, an Adreno 320 GPU, and 2GB of RAM (twice last year’s). The micro USB port doubles as a SlimPort for mirroring your tablet to your TV (via an adaptor or a cable sold separately), and you can charge the tablet wirelessly via the Qi protocol. Oh, and it has a rear camera now. It’s 5MP, but really, who cares?
Using It

For starters, Android 4.3 is nearly identical to Android 4.2. It’s a very incremental update. The most tangible new benefit is that Bluetooth 4.0 Low Energy is now supported. That means you can use it with new heart rate monitors and/or activity trackers like the Fitbit One. I tested it with the Withings Pulse and it worked flawlessly. There are a few other perks, like profiles you can set up to keep your kiddies from making in-game purchases. And there are some yet-to-be-quantified performance enhancements. On the surface that’s about it.

In practice, the tablet itself hauls ass. Apps open up lightning-quick, scrolling is smooth, and it auto-rotates quickly, all things which my 2012 Nexus 7 has been failing to do lately. The reduced size makes it once again hands-down the easiest tablet to carry with you. Hand-fatigue, even on long subway rides, is extremely minimal.

Android tablet apps have come a long way over the last year, and while it still doesn’t have as many truly optimized tablet apps as iOS, it’s very nearly caught up, and most of the ones you care about look just as good on both platforms. Spotify, IMDB, Instagram, Kindle, Evernote, for example, are all solid. This is a different story from just a year ago. The good news is that even apps that aren’t optimized don’t look so bad when stretched to seven inches, since they’re all made to work on phones that are 5.5-inches now anyway.

The Best Part

That would have to be the upgraded screen. It is absolutely gorgeous. Not only does text look sharper on it than on any other tablet to date, but it’s very bright, and colors are wonderfully accurate. The old Nexus 7′s screen had sort of an orange-ish tint to it; this year the whites look white. It blows every other small tablet out of the water. Tragic Flaw

The new Nexus features Qualcomm’s Snapdragon S4 Pro processor. The HTC One and Samsung Galaxy S4 both use Qualcomm’s newer, faster Snapdragon 600 processor, and soon devices will be released in the U.S. with the even fasterer Snapdragon 800 or Nvidia’s Tegra 4. It is utterly baffling that Google/Asus would choose to go with an outdated processor. Yes, it’s plenty fast now (faster than any tablet, but slower than the HTC One), but so was my 2012 Nexus 7, and now it’s slow as hell. This seems like bad future-proofing, even if it did help keep the price down.
This Is Weird…

You may recall that 2012′s Nexus 7 had some Wi-Fi issues. The Wi-Fi radio performed very inconsistently and struggled to deliver a solid connection. The new Wi-Fi radio performs better, but not by very much. We used the app Wi-Fi Analytics Tool from Amped Wireless and started walking down the block with both tablets, slowly getting further from our router. While the newer Nexus was often 10 or 20 dB better than the older one, it wasn’t consistent. Sometimes the older one would even pull ahead. This is really the only place were the iPad mini beats the new Nexus 7 handily. Google and Asus had the chance to make this much better, and they didn’t do much with it.

Should I Buy It?

Probably, but it’s a tougher call than it should be. Google missed an opportunity to really pull ahead in the small tablet battle. Instead, it chose a still-good-but-definitely-outdated processor. This all but guarantees that the Nexus 7 will be surpassed in power and speed sooner rather than later. It’s definitely an upgrade, but it’s a little more incremental than we’d hoped it would be.

That said, this tablet is absolutely terrific and it’s the one we’ll be carrying with us for the foreseeable future. The screen is absolutely unsurpassed in the small-tablet category (or arguably any tablet category), and that’s a big deal. It’s simply a joy to look at, it’s effortless to carry, it’s extremely fast, and it’s very cheap for how good it is. The 2013 Nexus 7 comes in at $230 for the 16GB Wi-Fi version, which is a cool $100 less than the not-nearly-as-good iPad mini with the same setup. Or it’s $30 more than the Kindle Fire HD, though the Nexus 7 is better in virtually every way.

At the very least, though, it’s probably worth waiting. While we’d definitely recommend this Nexus 7 over the current competition, keep in mind that the 2013 versions of the iPad mini and the Kindle Fire will probably be coming in the next few months. We’d bet the Nexus 7 will probably still be the best buy, but it doesn’t hurt to sit tight.

Basically, we love this thing. We just can’t shake the feeling that we’ll be falling even harder for something else soon.

Valve has rolled out a new update to its Counter-Strike : GO first-person shooter (FPS) video game, which has brought with it a wealth of new stock weapons, over 100 unique weapon finishes and weapon case exclusives.

Rare weapon cases have been created for the discerning weapons collector and purchasing an eSports Case Key will help support the CS:GO competitive gaming community.

The new Arms Deal update is shipping ten themed weapon collections two of which are pictured below, the rest can be seen over on the Counter-Strike : GO website and a portion of all sales from the eSports Weapon Case will be redirected to fund prize purses at upcoming Counter-Strike : GO eSport events worldwide.

PlayStation 3 Live Events App Launches With Pay-per-view Streaming

Sony has this week announced via their PlayStation Blog the launch of a new PlayStation 3 Live Events App which brings with it a number of great viewing features such as pay-per-view streaming as well as other events that will be completely free.

Sony has designed the Live Events Viewer PS3 app to serve as a hub for your favourite sports, concerts, and other entertainment events which can now be viewed directly from your PlayStation 3 games console, with new events being added weekly.

"John Cena will take on Daniel Bryan for the WWE Championship this Sunday, August 18th at 4:00pm Pacific Time — and you’ll be able to watch directly from your PS3! You can watch WWE SummerSlam and many more live events to come using the new Live Events Viewer PS3 app that launches later today after the PlayStation Store update.”

Microsoft Exchange 2013 Patch Pulled Hours After Release

Microsoft has had to pull a new Microsoft Exchange 2013 Patch just hours after being released it to the public, due to issues with the message index service, which prevented Exchange 2013 users from searching their mailboxes.

The critical MS13-061 security update for Exchange Server 2013 was released by Microsoft to resolve three publicly disclosed vulnerabilities in Microsoft Exchange Server caused the Content Index for mailbox databases shows as Failed.

System administrators that had already installed the new MS13-061 security update for Exchange Server 2013, then had to create a work around by editing of registry keys for the patch to regain access for users to their mail.

Piksi RTK GPS Receiver With Centimetre Precision (video)

If you are looking to develop a project which requires a GPS receiver that is both low-cost and very accurate you might be interested in a new device which is launched on the crowdfunding Kickstarter website this week called the Piksi.

The Piksi GPS receiver has been created to provide users with centimetre level precision together with open source software and board design. Check out the video after the jump to learn more about the new GPS receiver and its capabilities.

Swift Navigation the creators of Piksi explain : "A regular GPS receiver, like you have in your cell phone, gives positions that are accurate to within a few meters. An RTK (Real Time Kinematic) GPS system gives positions that are 100 times more accurate – down to single centimeters. Piksi is an RTK GPS receiver with open source software that costs one tenth the price of any other available RTK system.

We designed Piksi with the belief that providing this level of positioning precision at a radically lower cost would open it up to a much wider range of applications. We are particularly excited about its use in autonomous vehicle systems. Civilian and hobbyist use of UAVs has increased dramatically over the last few years, yet highly accurate, low cost localization solutions are not available yet. We hope that Piksi will help to fill this gap and push the envelope of what is possible with these systems.”

Rumor: Haswell Powered Macbook Pro to Ship in October

It has been a few months since Apple released the Haswell powered Macbook Air. However, there were no details about the Macbook Pros, powered by Intel’s Haswell chip. A new report has emerged from Chinese shores that claims the new Retina Macbook Pros powered by Haswell chip wont ship until October. A few analysts also report that the upgraded Macbooks will be launched before September ends.

There were rumors in the past that pointed towards a shortage of the display panels as the cause of the delay. Regarding the pricing, it has been revealed that the device will be sold in a similar price range as older Macbooks but we cannot be sure at the moment as the prices of the high-resolution LCD panels and solid states drives are falling. On the other hand, DRAM has seen an upward trend in terms of pricing, which is why many people believe that the price of the new Macbook Pros will remain the same.

I remind the readers to take this as a rumor and not official news. Nothing is official until it is announced from the Cupertino headquarters, even if the rumors are from legit sources.

Leaked Press Render of Blackberry 9720 Samoa

It is a known fact that Blackberry is expected to launch Blackberry OS 7 powered device by the end of the year – Blackberry 9720. A few weeks back, the device did pose for the camera, and later appeared in a video where the device was shown in action. Today, we have an unofficial press render of the alleged Blackberry 9720 codenamed Samoa.

The leaked emerged from the one and only and it does look similar to what we have seen in the past. The device features a dedicated BBM button with an optical track pad, back, send and power buttons just like every other Blackberry device.

It is expected that the device will feature a full QWERTY keyboard, 1,450 mAh battery, display sporting 480 x 360 pixels resolution and running BB OS7 on top of it. More details about the specifications and availability of the alleged Blackberry 9720 Samoa are still unknown, but if we come across anything, we will share it with you right away. The only thing we are confirmed of right now is that the device will hit the shelves before the end of this year.

Coming towards a more important point, do you think this is a wise move by the Canadian manufacturer? They are already stumbling in terms of financials as well as iand launching a device with outdated software doesn’t seem like a wise move to me. There are already a number of better devices in the market that may come within the similar price range, with better specifications and software. What do you think?

The Red iPhone 5 Review Hands On

With the iPhone having revolutionized the phone as we know it, it’s no surprise that with the 6th-generation iPhone, it still remains one of the most popular handsets on the market. You can hardly get on a bus, train or walk down the street, without seeing someone with an iPhone.

As such, people have come up with lots of ways to customize their device. One of the most popular methods of making your iPhone your own is to use a case. This is a good option, however I have something that trumps it. The Color Lab.

The aluminum that comprises the back housing on the iPhone 5 can actually be chemically dyed, via a process called anodization. Doing so creates a very unique look on your iPhone, and really makes it stand out amongst the crowd that is ‘black rectangles with rounded corners’. My iPhone 5 has actually been anodized by a company here in the UK called MendMyi, at which they run a service called the ‘Color Lab’. My full video review for the service can be found below:

With so many iPhones around, this is by far my favorite method of customization. You can really make your iPhone look unique to you. I myself have black and red, as they make up my favorite color combinations, however you could just as easily have gold, or blue. Bondsy, a new mobile app, has brought the barter system back from the grave. While sites like Ebay are great for getting rid of stuff you don’t want or need, it only allows you to get rid of items people are willing to buy. Usually things people are already looking for. Bondsy makes it easier for people to barter goods for goods instead of using currency.
For example, one of the trades being talked about is a bunch of bacon for coffee beans. With Bondsy, you can literally trade anything for anything. It doesn’t have to be a physical item either. Someone has already traded T-shirts for plumbing services using Bondsy – just don’t trade to barter services that are currently illegal.

The downside is that it doesn’t work publicly. It works based off of a network of friends, so you don’t have to worry about setting up a meeting in a casual public location or anything along shady lines to get what you want – unless you don’t trust your friends. You can actually extend your list to friends of friends and set individual prices based on how well you know the person you’re trading with. To use the app, all you have to do is take a picture of the item and post it. It’s fun and rather practical. Download it today and give it a try.

Samsung’s Galaxy S4 to Reach 10 Million

Within the next week Samsung’s Galaxy S4 is projected to reach 10 million in sales within the next week – making it Samsung’s fastest-selling device ever. It’s previous fastest-selling device was the Galaxy S3, which sold 10 million within 54 days. If the S4’s progress continues, it’ll almost cut the Galaxy S3’s time in half!

The Galaxy S4 went on sale on April 26^th and has since been flying off the shelves. It’s so popular that Google has decided to ally with Samsung to create a Google Edition of the S4 that will allow users to make use of the Android Jelly Bean instead of TouchWiz. It’ll pretty much turn the device into an unofficial Nexus.

Samsung is expecting to make the official announcement by May 24^th and is currently talking about its upcoming Galaxy Note III. Not much has been said about the new smartphone/tablet device, but if the S4 is any indication, it’ll be a must-have soon. All we know now is that the display has been increased to 5.9-inches.

We all knew the S4 would reach 10 million in sales, but not as quickly as it has. Why do you think it’s been so successful?

Google Glass with Prescription

When I first heard about Google Glass, I thought it was a great technological advancement. However, being one of the millions who wear glasses and American to boot, I found myself instantly wanting more.

While the idea was neat, the thought of wearing Glass in addition to my glasses was rather off-putting. If only Glass could be integrated with my prescription, or at least offer a prescription-based version…

Google I/O brought just that! On the show floor was a new version of Google Glass being integrated with prescription glasses. It’s only a prototype at the moment, but it’s a step in the right direction. It currently makes use of the same software as the Explorer Edition of Glass too. The only difference is the hardware.

Hopefully we’ll see more about it later this year. In five years we’ll have a Saiyan Scouters and in ten we’ll have some ballin‘ black sunglasses that can do everything a computer can do while being accessed by our thoughts!

Okay – maybe I’m getting a little ahead of myself. But you have to admit, it’s definitely a step towards the sci-fi community of tomorrow we all dream of.

Rolling Into the Record Books

Did you know there have been four different Mars rovers to touchdown and drive along the surface of Mars since 1997? All four belong to NASA and include – in order of oldest to newest – the Sojourner, Spirit, Opportunity and Curiosity.

Curiosity has been getting the brunt of the attention after finding strong signs that life may have once existed on Mars, but Opportunity recently hit a monumental point by breaking the record for the longest NASA drive off Earth.

Opportunity has driven a total of 35.76 kilometers along the surface of Mars – much more than Curiosity’s measly .7 kilometers. Before last week the record was being held by the Apollo 17 Lunar Rover, which explored 35.74 kilometers of the moon before being retired. Opportunity had already help the longest drive on Mars after eclipsing Spirit’s 7.7 kilometer exploration that ended in 2010.

Opportunity isn’t far from achieving the record for the longest drive off Earth ever. The title is currently held by the USSR’s Lunokhod 2, which drove 37 kilometers along the surface of the moon in 1973. Will the Opportunity be able to continue to resist large amounts of dust and debris to break the overall record? We’ll know if it completes its next record breaking mission of 1.4 miles or if it comes up short by the end of this year.

White Nexus 4 With Android 4.3 Launching June 10th

We have been seeing a number of photos of the white Nexus 4 over the last few weeks, and now we have some more details about the device it will launch on the 10th of June and will come with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.

The specifications on the white Nexus 4 will be the same as the existing model, it will come with a 4.7 inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 768 pixels and 320pp, and it will be the first ndevice to launch with Android 4.3.

The Nexus 4 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 pro processor clocked at 1.5GHz, it also feature 2GB of RAM and a choice of either 8GB or 16GB of storage, plus there is a front facing 1.3 megapixel camera and a rear facing 8 megapixel camera.

Angry Birds Rio now in Windows Phone Store

Angry Birds fans using a Windows Phone handset have some good news today. Angry Birds Rio is now available from the Windows Phone Store. The game has 210 levels and 40 bonus stages.

That should be enough to keep you busy for awhile. The game is a tie-in to the animated RIO movie and is priced at just 99 cents in the Windows Phone Store. The game is getting some high reviews from players so far. People like it.

Both Windows Phone 7 and Windows Phone 8 users have been able to download and play some of the other specially themed Angry Birds games like Angry Birds Star Wars, Angry Birds Seasons and Angry Birds Space already. Eventually, Angry Birds Friends will be available for Windows Phone. Another nice feature that this version of the game has is that users can set up multi-player tournaments with their Facebook friends.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 Jelly Bean 4.1.2 Update Rolls Out

After a long wait Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 GT-P6800 owners will be pleased to learn that Samsung has now started rolling out a new Android Jelly Bean 4.1.2 operating system to its devices.

The Jelly Bean update is rolling out in Asia first : Singapore, Indonesia, Singapore (StarHub), Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines (Globe), Singapore (SingTel), Philippines (Sun), and Malaysia. But expect the update to roll out in more countries soon.

The Galaxy Tab 7.7 is Samsung’s first AMOLED tablet and features a 7.7 inch Super AMOLED Plus touch screen display with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 includes storage choices of 16GB, 32GB or 64GB, and comes equipped with a microSD card slot which can take up to 32GB cards, as well as 802.11 a/b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 3.0 and A-GPS connectivity.

Sony Xperia ZR Gets Official

Sony has announced their latest Android smartphone, the Sony Xperia ZR, the handset is designed to be both dust and waterproof and conforms to IP55 and IP58 standards.

The Sony Xperia ZR is capable of being submerged in up to 1.5 metres of water for 30 minutes, and comes with a 4.6 inch HD Reality Display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels.

Processing on the Sony Xperia ZR comes in the form of a 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, the handset also features 2GB of RAM and 8GB of built in storage, plus a microSD card slot that can take up to 64GB cards.

"The Xperia ZR pushes the boundaries on where and how consumers can use the full potential of their smartphone. By combining Sony’s leading camera technology with the highest level of water-resistance, you will never miss another moment.” said Calum MacDougall, Director of Xperia Marketing at Sony Mobile Communications. "Bringing together the best of Sony’s leading technology, media applications and easy one-touch connectivity with the largest ever range of NFC-enabled accessories, the Xperia ZR delivers the unique smartphone experience that people can expect from Sony.”

Other specifications on the Sony Xperia Zr include a 2,300 mAh battery, plus a ‘Battery Stamina’ mode which is designed to improved the standby time of the handset by up to four times, this works by shutting down apps that would normally drain the battery.

The Sony Xperia ZR also comes with NFC and 4G LTE, the device measure 10mm thick and weighs in at 140g, Sony have not given and exact launch date for the device, all we know is that it will launch in quarter three, there are no details on pricing as yet.

Notion Ink Adam II Dual Display Tablet Unveiled

This week Notion Ink has unveiled a new addition to their range of tablets with the launch of the Notion Ink Adam II dual screen tablet.

The Notion Ink Adam II primary display is a 10.1 inch, 1280 x 800 pixel IPS screen, which is combined with a Secondary STN or black and white LCD display for notifications purposes.

The Notion Ink Adam II is powered by a 1.5 GHz ARM Cortex-A9 dual-core processor, supported by 1GB of RAM and comes supplied running Google’s latest Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system.

Other features include a 6,000 mAh battery which is capable of providing 10 hours of continuous use and, HDMI,802.11b/g/n WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity, 2 megapixel front facing camera for video calling, together with a 2 megapixel rear facing for video and photographs.

Unfortunately no information on pricing or worldwide availability has been released as yet, but it is expected to be priced around $200. As soon as more information comes to light we will keep you updated as always.

Double Fine used to be known for two things: CEO Tim Schafer and his ridiculously great games made at LucasArts and amazing ball of amazingness Psychonauts. Nowadays, Double Fine is home to a lot more games after a change of direction following the troubled development of Brutal Legend saw the studio quickly release multiple smaller games instead of one huge one.

Stacking, Costume Quest and Iron Brigade came out of that turbulent time, but unfortunately the rights for most of these games are still with their original publishers, one of whuch was the now defunct THQ. ”We’re still trying to get the rights to Costume Quest and Stacking,” Tim Schafer said. "We can still make more of those games. We still have the IP, but we’d love to have all of the IP and distribution rights in house.”

Diablo 3 Auction House Up & Running, Cheaters Won’t Prosper

EVE Online Diablo 3 ain’t. While players of the Icelandic MMO giant’s opus are all but encouraged to try and wreck the game’s economy and exploiters keep their loot after loopholes are plugged, Blizzard is nowhere near as forgiving. The recent Auction House exploit that allowed players to make out like bandits has been closed and the 415 cheaters dealt with.

"The bug was the result of a coding error that was exposed when we increased the gold stack size from 1 million to 10 million,” according to John Hight, Diablo III production director. ”This resulted in an overflow on cancelled auctions that yielded a greater amount of gold in return. Only a relatively small number of players had the billions of gold necessary to exploit the bug, and only 415 of those players chose to use this exploit for personal gain.”

Huawei Ascend P2 Headed To Three UK (Video)

The Huawei Ascend P2 was first announced back in February at Mobile World Congress, and UK mobile carrier Three has announced that they will be offering the device on their network in the UK from next month.

The Huawei Ascend P2 comes with a quad core 1.5GHz processor and feature LTE Cat 4 which will offer download speeds of up to 150Mbps, and it comes with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

Other specifications on the Huawei Ascend P2 include a 13 megapixel rear camera and a 1.3 megapixel front facing camera , it also comes with NFC, and a 2,420 mAh battery.

Three have said that they will be offering the Ascend P2 on their contracts from June, they have not given an exact launch date for the device and there are no details on pricing as yet.

Nokia Lumia 521 Lands In T-Mobile Stores 22nd Of May

The Nokia Lumia 521 recently launched with mobile carrier T-Mobile, although the device was only available through HSN initially, the handset will be available direct from T-Mobile on the 22nd of May.

The T-Mobile Nokia Lumia 521 is a Windows Phone 8 smartphone that was first announced back in February, the handset comes with a 4 inch display that features a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels.

Other specifications in the Nokia Lumia 521 include 8GB of built in storage, plus a microSD card slot for extra storage, the device also features a 5 megapixel camera which is capable of recording high definition video in 720p.

The Nokia Lumia 521 is available for $29 up front with equal monthly payments for the balance made over the next 24 months, if you go for the T-Mobile Simple Choice Plans the monthly payments will be $5 per month.

Custom Batman Tumbler Entering The Gumball 3000 Rally (video)

A custom Batman Tumbler has been constructed replicating the Batman Tumbler from the Chris Nolan Batman trilogy, and has been burned through a budget of $1.6 million in the process.

Now the same awesome custom Batman Tumbler vehicle is being entered in the famous Gumball 3000 rally. Watch the video after the jump to see it in action.

The custom Batman Tumbler was commissioned by a team from Saudi Arabia and is equipped with a 400hp engine that can propel the huge vehicle up to 100 mph.

"The Gumball 3000 is an annual British 3,000-mile (4,800 km) international road rally which takes place on public roads, with a different route around the world each year. Founded in 1999 by Maximillion Cooper, it sees an annual entry of 120 cars, which are mostly exotic and powerful sports cars.”

Huawei W1 Windows Phone 8 Smartphone Announced

The Huawei W1 was announced today, and it is the company’s first Windows Phone 8 smartphone. It goes on sale online in the U.S. this month. Huawei says that the W1 is easier to use, gives quicker access to vital information and it is more personal.

The Huawei W1 sports a 4-inch Gorilla Glass IPS LCD touchscreen display, a 1.2GHz dualcore processor, a 5 megapixel auto-focus camera on the back with 4X digital zoom and LED flash and a VGA front camera with single LED flash.

Other features include a 1,950 mAh battery. Internal storage is 1.7GB, though there’s the option of increasing storage by using microSD cards up to 32GB. We don’t have any pricing or availability details yet however.

Microsoft Wants An iTunes App For Windows 8

Apple’s iTunes is available for the desktop version of Windows 8, but Microsoft wants Apple to create a Metro version of the app for Windows 8, and Microsoft have being trying to convince Apple to make one.

Apple is apparently reluctant to make a Windows 8 iTine App, and it looks like we may have to wait some time to see one as Microsoft has yet to talk Apple into making the app.

According to Microsoft, iTunes is one of the most searched for apps on the Windows 8 store, and whilst Microsoft has been able to secure big name apps like Twitter and Netflix for Windows 8 they have yet to convince Apple to release an iTunes app for the platform.

Mozilla Offering Developers Free FireFox OS Phones

To bolster their developer community Mozilla is now offering free FireFox OS powered smartphones to developers in the how they will create awesome applications for the new operating system.

To be eligible for a free FireFox OS smartphone, you’ll need to submit a proposal to Mozilla outlining the application you are considering building or porting to its new mobile platform.

If accepted Mozilla will then supply you with a free Geeksphone Keon, normally priced at $119 and equipped with a 3.5-inch screen. Powered by a Qualcomm 1GHz processor and a 3 megapixel camera, and 512MB of RAM, 4GB of ROM, MicroSD card slot,which has been designed by Mozilla for the budget conscious and lower end markets.

"Maybe you’ve built apps in the past for Chrome, webOS, Blackberry WebWorks, or the PhoneGap store. Maybe you’ve created beautiful web apps for a desktop environment and now you want to port them to mobile. Maybe you’re a student about to start a summer break. Over 300 Million Smart Devices Shipped In Q1

According to a recent report by reserved firm Canalys, there we over 300 million smart devices shipped in the first quarter of 2013, which is apparently up 37.4 percent for the same quarter in 2012.

Canalys also revealed some details on the percentage share of those 300 million devices by operating system, and according to the report 59.5 percent of those 300 million devices used Google’s Android OS.

‘Despite its slowing growth, Apple still shipped over 37 million iPhones,’ said Pete Cunningham, Canalys Principal Analyst. ‘But HTC and Samsung have raised the bar with their latest handsets and Apple needs to respond with its next iPhone. The iPhone user interface is now six years old and badly in need of a refresh. Hardware-wise, the biggest dilemma that Apple faces is what it does with the size of the display on the next iPhone. It cannot afford to ignore the trend for larger displays in premium smart phones. We expect an increase on the iPhone 5’s 4″ display but are not anticipating a "Phablet”-style iPhone.’

The list is made up of smartphones, tablets and notebooks, in second place is Apple with a 19.3 percent share, this includes iOS devices and notebooks running OS X, and in third place is Microsoft with an 18.1 percent share, this includes, Windows Phone 8 smartphones and Windows 8 tablets and notebooks.

Nokia Lumia 928 Camera Shown Off On Video

The Nokia Lumia 928 is still not official, Nokia started teasing the handset yesterday on their website and now they have posted a video showing off the PureView camera on the Nokia Lumia 928.

The video below shows the Nokia Lumia 928 camera being compared to the camera on the iPhone 5 and the camera on the Samsung Galaxy S3, have a look at the video below.

Nokia’s website has now confirmed some of the specifications on the Nokia Lumia 928, which include a new PureView camera which features an 8.7 megapixel sensor with Carl Zeiss optics and image stabilization.

The Nokia Lumia 928 is rumored to feature a 4.5 inch Super AMOLED display with a HD resolution of 1280 x 768 pixels, and processing will come from a dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor clocked at 1.5GHz.

As soon as we get some more details on the Nokia Lumia 928, including some information on when the device will launch on Verizon Wireless we will let you guys know.

Google to open stores for Google Glass?

There is some speculation that Google will be opening a number of retail stores to sell Google Glass. The stores will not only sell the device, but also customize them for each sale, to make sure that each Glass user gets the proper experience while wearing the device. Experts in the store will also teach users how to set-up and use Google Glass.

The developers who bought Google Glass go through a similar experience when they pick up their purchase, an experience that might feel like if Google does open retail Google Glass stores anyway. The Glass owners are walked through the set-up and customization of the hardware, and are taught how to use the device.

Take it with a grain of salt, but it does make sense. We will have to wait and see if Google wants to comment.

A company called ShoreTel has unveiled an interesting, yet strange new accessory for the iPhone or iPad aimed at business users. The accessory is called the ShoreTel Dock and turns your iPhone or iPad into a desktop phone. The device is designed to allow users to slide their iPhone or iPad into the dock and get instant access to the comfort, battery life, and call quality of a business desk phone.

The dock has a power adapter and keeps the iPhone or iPad charged so the batteries always full. The docking system also works with mobility and conferencing applications from the company. Users can dial calls using the desk phone keypad or from the screen of the iPhone or iPad.

The device is expected to launch in Q3 of 2013. The price for the dock is set at $349. The idea with this devices to help business users who bring their own devices to work get more runtime and better use of their gadgets.

Synology DiskStation DS213j Promises Speedy Cloud Storage in the Home or Office

External storage device maker Synology has unveiled a new storage solution called the DiskStation DS213j that promises to be a affordable storage solution for the home or office. The manufacturer says that it is a budget friendly two bay network attached storage server specifically designed for file storage and sharing with data protection.

The drive has a new floating point unit enabled processor that allows for faster rendering of image thumbnails and image previews. It also features 512 MB of RAM for better multitasking and supports wake on LAN capability.

The storage solution is also a DLNA compliant media server. The company promises performance of 100 MB/second reads and 70 MB/second writes. The storage solution will be available soon at an unannounced price.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8 and 10 Inch Versions To Be Announced This Month

Samsung recently announced their new Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 tablet, the device comes with a 7 inch display, and now it looks like we will also see an 8 inch and a 10 inch version of the Galaxy Tab 3 later this month.

As yet we do not have any specifications on the 8 inch and 10 inch versions of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3, although they are expected to be similar in terms of processor and more to the 7 inch version which was announced recently, you can see the specifications on this device below.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 features a dual core Cortex A9 processor with a clock speed of 1.9Ghz, plus a 7 inch WSVGA displays with a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels at 169PPI, plus Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7 features front an rear facing cameras with a 1.3 megapixel camera for video chat, on the back we have a 3 megapixel camera for photos and video.

T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S4 Software Update Released

Samsung has released a new software update for the T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S4, the update brings a number of improvements to the handset which include improvements to the visual voicemail app and the ISIS app.

The update for the T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S4 is being released through Samsung’s KIES software updating tool and also as an over the air update.

You can check to see if the update is available for your Samsung Galaxy S4 via the setting menu on the handset or by connecting it to your computer and using the Samsung Kies software.

RunKeeper Pebble SmartWatch App Launches

RunKeeper has launched a new Pebble smartphone application this week, which is compatible with both iOS and Android devices, and has been designed to turn your Prebble smartwatch into a personal trainer.

The RunKeeper application enables you to control the smartphone apps from your Pebble, so you can leave your phone in your pocket during a workout. The Pebble smartwatch then displays information such as pace, mileage, starting and stopping times on your wrist.

Jason Jacobs, CEO, RunKeeper explains:

Mac Compatible Docking Stations Announced By Targus From $219

If you are looking to add a few more ports to your Mac Book Air of other Mac system, you might be interested in a new line of Mac compatible docking stations which have been announced by Targus this week.

The new range of Targus docks include dual video ports 1 x DVI-I, 1 x HDMI, supporting HD Video and graphics up to a 2048 x 1152 resolution. Watch the video after the jump to see it in action.

Other features include DVI-I to VGA & HDMI to DVI-D Adapter, Multiple USB ports 2 x USB 3.0, 4 x USB 2.0, Gigabit Ethernet port, audio ports and security lock slot and they are backwards compatibility with DisplayLink USB 2.0 graphics devices.

New Sony Xperia With 5 Inch Display Headed To China

It looks like Sony is getting ready to launch a new Sony Xperia smartphone in China, the device will apparently come with a 5 inch display and will be a dual SIM smartphone that can take two different SIM cards.

This new Sony Xperia handset is currently being referred to as the Sony C3, although this is the codename for the handset, and there are no details on exactly what it will be called.

We do not know much about the specifications on the Sony C3, although it is rumored to feature a similar design to Sony’s flagship Xperia Z smartphone, as soon as we get some more information we will let you guys know.

SimCity 3.0 Update Hopes To Correct Traffic Issues And More

Those of you enjoying SimCity 3.0 will be pleased to learn that EA will be releasing a new CimCity 3.0 update that will hopefully correct traffic issues, as well as enhance and tweak a number of other areas.

The new SimCity 3.0 update is expected to roll out later thuds week and brings a wealth of new additions and tweaks which can be viewed after the jump.

SimCity 3.0 Update notes :

- New: Added more Hotel models to increase hotel variety.
– Traffic: Updated routing system to improve traffic. Routing system now understands more information about u-turns, required vehicle stops, and vehicle behavior on certain road types. This should make traffic smarter.
– Traffic: Commercial and industrial buildings stagger their work shifts to start throughout commute hours instead of at the top of the hour. This should reduce traffic.
– Traffic: Fixes one issue where a car won’t move causing traffic to back up behind it.
– Traffic: Vehicles can now make right turns on Red. This should improve some cases of traffic.
– Traffic: Trading polish that will improve regional traffic when one city has a lot of jobs and its neighboring city has a lot of workers.
– Air Pollution: Fixed more issues where cities that placed air polluting buildings received large amounts of air pollution from unknown sources.
– Service Vehicles: Fix for disappearing service vehicles on cities that whose vehicles had disappeared before update 2.
– School Buses: Fix for issue where school buses were getting stuck at neighbor’s city or arcology.
– Audio: Tuned audio on French Police Station.
– Trading: Fixed issue where fire servers were not trading consistently between Brakeman’s Folly and Twain in Whitewater Valley.
– Trading: Sewage trading: Sewage will now take a more direct route to regional sewage plant instead of throughout the city.
– Trading: Made gifting more reliable.
– Ferry Terminal: Ferry Terminal can now send its sewage to the output pipe and treatment plant.
– RCI Tuning: Fixed issue where sims going to a park via transit would sometimes lose their money or happiness on the way home.
– RCI Tuning: Bulldozing abandoned or rubble buildings will now prevent new developments for 6-12 hours.
– RCI Tuning: Less Happiness is taken from wealth 2 and 3 buildings when rent is due when no money is present.
– RCI Tuning: Fix for issue some users experienced where buildings would stay abandoned because moving trucks would not be able to move in.
– Trees: Trees now last longer, but also do not eliminate as much ground pollution.
– Radiation: Radiation causes less ground pollution than previously.
– Transit: Changed thought bubble suggestion to add more trains to deal with crowded passenger trains to suggest that you add more train stations.
– Transit: Improvements to lights to make rail look better at night.
– Transit: Streetcar stops can now be placed directly on standalone streetcar tracks, and passengers can walk along the tracks to them.
– Transit: Tuned the chance buses or streetcars will go to high-traffic stops first as a minor traffic improvement.
– Roads: University pedestrian paths can now cross streets.
– Manufacturing Trucks: Fixed issue some users experienced where manufacturing trucks left the city and were lost permanently.
– Delivery Trucks: Fixed issue where some users would experience a loss of resources is their delivery trucks returned to garages without proper storage.
– Sports Parks: Tuned the amount of skateboarders and neighborhood athletes at the sports parks.
– Data Layers: Zones are now visible in heavy data layers.
– Edit Mode: Added more valid snap points in edit mode. This improvement is most noticeable on Parks.
– Buildings: Addressed some cases where buildings would stack on one another.

Sony Vaio Fit Notebooks Announced

Sony has announced a new range of notebooks, the Sony Vaio Fit range which is made up of the Sony Vaio Fit 15, the Fit 15E, the Fit 14, these new models will launch in Japan later this month.

The Sony Vaio Fit 15 will come with a 15 inch full HD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, it will also comes with a 2GHz Intel Core i7 processor and 8GB of RAM, plus Intel HD graphics 4000.

Other specifications on the Sony Vaio Fit 15 include 1TB of hybrid storage, NFC, 802.11 b/g/n Wifi and a Sony Exmor R web camera, prices for the 15 inch model will be around $1,818 when it launches in Japan.

Plants vs Zombies 2 Release Date Is July (Video)

We had previously heard that Plants vs Zombies 2 would launch some time this summer, and now the developers behind the game, PopCap have announced that the Plants vs Zombies 2 release date will be July.

PopCap did not reveal any information about Plants vs Zombies 2, they also did not ay which platforms it would be available on, although we suspect it will be headed to the same platforms as the original game which will include iOS, Android and more.

As soon as we get some more information about Plants vs Zombies 2 we will let you guys know, in the meantime have a look at this teaser video they released below.

AT&T Beam USB LTE Modem Launches For $20 A Month

AT&T has this week announced that they will be launching a new AT&T 4G LTE modem in the form of the AT&T Beam providing customers with access for just $20 a month.

The AT&T Beam USB modem is equipped with an LCD screen for status updates, network indicator, signal strength, and data usage, and allows access to 10 Wi-Fi enabled devices.

The AT&T Beam modem is also fitted with a microSDTM card slot to expand the modems on board storage up to 32GB in size. Jeff Bradley, senior vice president, devices and developer services, AT&T explained:

"The LCD screen on the AT&T Beam really makes it stands out from traditional USB modems,”-”This added feature provides real-time information with just a glance. With the support of the nation’s fastest 4G network, our customers have even more flexibility to stay productive wherever they are, giving them more control of their mobile experience.”

The AT&T Beam modem supports Windows 8 and Windows RT laptops and tablets as well as older Windows 7 devices.

Star Wars Video Game License Acquired By EA

It has been revealed this week that following on from the acquisition of the Star Wars property by Disney from Lucas Film for a massive $4.05 billion.

Disney has licensed the Star Wars games development to EA in a multi-year agreement, enabling EA to develop and publish new Star Wars games across multiple platforms.

The agreements will also mean that Disney is able to developer mobile, social and online Star Wars titles. EA labels president Frank Gibeau explained:

"Every developer dreams of creating games for the Star Wars universe,”-”The new experiences we create may borrow from films, but the games will be entirely original with all new stories and gameplay.”-”Powering it all will be the Frostbite 3 development engine – guaranteeing incredible graphic fidelity, environments and characters,”

If still unclear at the present time whether any Star Wars games such as Star Wars 1313 or Star Wars: Full Assault games will continue to be developed after it was stopped due to the acquisition by Disney.
