By Car

To make your way to the Nova Site, take Highway 232 South from Be’eri and follow signs toward the Re’im Parking Lot or the Nova Festival Site, located roughly a 15-minute drive away. Tel Aviv, Israel - Kicking off on August 8th, low-cost carrier Wizz Air officially resumed operations on its Tel Aviv flight routes. The long-awaited move marks a significant shift in Israel’s flight market, breaking the monopoly that the national carrier, El Al, had firmly held for the past six months.

“With routes linking Tel Aviv to Budapest, Larnaca, Milan, Rome, London, Vienna, Bucharest, Iasi, Sofia and Abu Dhabi, Wizz Air is putting Israel back on the map for hundreds of thousands of eager travellers,” the air-carrier announced in a statement on July 10th, 2025.

Tourist Israel, the country’s leading online tour operator, almost immediately recorded a noticeable spike in demand. Within a week of Wizz Air’s announcement, bookings for August rose by nearly 20% compared to July averages. The company stresses their belief that the rise is not related to safety - Israel has remained a secure and welcoming destination for months - but rather to the renewed availability, affordability, and confidence in international flights.

“Safety concerns have not been the barrier for a long time,” said Tourist Israel founder Ben Julius. “The real challenge was the lack of affordable flight options. With Wizz Air back in the skies, travelers suddenly feel they have real choices again. We saw the impact almost instantly, with booking numbers rising within days. It’s a sign of how much flight access directly influences tourism to Israel.”

The return of Wizz Air is expected to ease travel costs, especially for budget-conscious travelers from Europe. Prior to August, limited competition in the flight market drove ticket prices up by as much as 40-50%, discouraging many potential visitors. The renewed presence of a low-cost carrier signals a healthier, more competitive market and is already restoring momentum to inbound tourism.
