Day 01 : Nairobi

You begin your magical holiday today as you board your flight to Kenya - the heart of African safari!! On arrival into Jomo Kenyatta International Airport you are met by our Airport Representative and transferred to your hotel. Rest of the day for leisure and in the evening there shall be Safari Briefing with welcome dinner.

Day 02 : Nairobi – Mountain Lodge

After breakfast, leave Nairobi in the morning to arrive at the small town of Nyeri in time for a sumptuous lunch at Mountain Lodge. The afternoon is spent watching the early arrival at the waterhole and salt lick, usually antelopes. As the evening progresses, larger animals like elephant and even rhino join the procession to the waterhole. Their appearance would be a signal for smaller animals to depart. The tourist is kept well supplied with hot drinks like tea, coffee or chocolate during the night. Dinner and overnight at Mountain Lodge . BLD (Children under 7 years are not allowed)

Day 03 : Tree Hotel – Mount Kenya Safari Club

After breakfast a short drive brings you to the Mount Kenya Safari Club, which is situated at the foot of Mt. Kenya (17,058 feet). The elitist membership of this club would include movie stars, aristocrats and politicians, both local and international. Here you can have a day of total relaxation in the beautiful landscaped gardens. Activities include golf, tennis, horseback riding and swimming in the heated swimming pool. Meals and overnight at Mount Kenya Safari Club. BLD

Day 04 : Mount Kenya – Nakuru/Naivasha

After breakfast, the tour crosses over the top of the Aberdare range of mountains, stopping briefly to gaze at the 73m Thompson’s Falls, named after Joseph Thompson the Scots explorer, who was the first European to see the Falls in 1884. Continue to Nakuru for lunch. After lunch, drive around Lake Nakuru National Park for an unforgettable sight of the thousands of flamingos on the alkaline lake. The park also includes the rare white rhinos. The other large animal to be seen is the Rothschild’s giraffe. The vegetation is mostly savanna type with both the back (fever tree) and umbrella top acacia growing in abundance as also Euphorbia. Enjoy an afternoon game drive. Meals and overnight at Lion Hill lodge. BLD

Day 05 : Lake Nakuru/Naivasha – Masai Mara

There’s time after breakfast to enjoy the beauty and tranquility of the lake before leaving for Masai Mara National Reserve where you arrive by lunch time. An afternoon game drive should make it possible to locate the black-manned lion for which the reserve is famous. Meals and overnight at a lodge/ camp in Mara Serena Lodge. BLD

Day 06 : Masai Mara

A full day’s game viewing of Kenya’s array of wildlife in their natural habitat. More than 60 species of animals are found here as well as myriad of birds. The vegetation is generally savanna type with clumps of trees near water holes. These supply shade as well as foliage to elephants. The rivers are lined with gallery forest. The acacias supply the Maasai giraffe with their favourite food. The tourist who wishes to take an early morning game drive before breakfast, is kept well supplied with hot tea and hot coffee before departure. This trip could be very rewarding as one is most likely to see lion enjoying a kill. The game reserve is noted for it’s black manned lion. Meals and overnight at Mara Serena Lodge . BLD

Day 07 Masai Mara – Nairobi

After breakfast, return to Nairobi via the Great Rift Valley which is reached in time for lunch. A stop might be made at the Italian chapel, built by the Italian prisoners of war to commemorate their companions who died while building this road. Then on to Nairobi, with a last breathtaking view of the Rift Valley and Mt. Longonot which you have just passed. This will bring back memories of the wonders of this land. Leave in the morning after early breakfast to reach the small town of Nyeri. After a sumptuous lunch at Outspan Hotel proceed to The Ark Hotel in the early afternoon. The night is spent in your comfortable perch above the floodlit waterhole and saltlick where, night – long, a procession of animals comes to drink. The Ark lies in the path of an ancient Elephant migratory route between the Aberdare Mountains and Mt Kenya National park, and is strategically sitted right in front of a watering hole and salt lick. The Ark is located very close to the wild animals. You will have a chance to visit Chimp sanctuary. Drive back for overnight at Mount Kenya Safari Club. (BLD)

Day 05 : Mt Kenya – Masai Mara

After early breakfast at the club. Drive to Masai Mara Game Reserve. Check in at Mara Safari Club. After lunch go for an afternoon game drive during which it would be possible to locate the huge black-manned lions, for which the reserve is famous. (BLD)

Day 06 and Day 07 : Masai Mara

A full day of game viewing and exploring of this Kenya’s finest reserve or alternatively a morning game drive followed by an afternoon swim in the cool water of the hotel swimming pool. This tour focuses on natural wonders such as the sparkling limestone of Pammukkale, the magical pinnacles of Cappadicia and architectural wonders such as Istanbul’s Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia and the ancient ruins of Ephesus.

Day 1, Thursday – Istanbul
Arrive in Istanbul on Turkish airlines flight from New Delhi/Mumbai. Upon arrival in Istanbul, you will met by our representative and transferred to the hotel. Rest of the day leisure. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 2, Friday – Istanbul (B)
After breakfast, visit the legendary Blue Mosque, named for the beautiful blue Iznik tiles that cover its walls. Then stroll around the historical Hippodrome where chariot races were held in ancient times. Continue to 4th century Hagia Sophia Cathedral Museum, conceived by Constantine and later converted to a mosque during Ottoman Empire. Next is Suleymaniye Mosque, built in the 16th century for Suleiman the Magnificent and Topkapi Palace, legendary residence of the Ottoman Sultans. Enjoy free time to explore the exhilarating Grand Bazaar of Istanbul. Return to hotel for overnight.

Day 3, Saturday – Istanbul (B)
After breakfast at the hotel, visit the Egyptian Bazaar, used as the spice market since 1665. Next, board the ferry which crosses the Bosphorus. Highlights of the cruise are 15th century Rumelihisar fortress and Dolmabahce Palace, residence of the Ottoman Sultan. At the end of the ferry ride stop at Camlica Hill on the Asian side to see the breathtaking view of Istanbul. Visit the Beylerbeyi Palace – the summer residence of Ottoman Sultans. Return to the hotel for overnight.

Day 4, Sunday – Istanbul / Ankara / Cappadocia (B,D)
After breakfast transfer to domestic airport for a short, 1hr flight to Ankara, the Turkish capital since 1923. Upon arrival, visit the Anatolian Civilization Museum which exhibits the ancient Hittite Civilization. Next, see the Ataturk Mausoleum and Museum, the resting place of the father of the modern Republic od Turkey. Continue to Cappadocia region and en route, stop to visit the 13th century Agzikarahan Carvansarayi. Arrive in Cappadocia for dinner and overnight.

Day 5, Monday – Cappadocia (B,D)
After breakfast visit the Goreme open air museum, with its bizarre and charming churches and chapels carved into stone. See the Red Rock “Fairy Castle”, the Pasabag valley with unusual mushroom shaped pinnacles. Then, visit the artisans and carpet factory in the traditional rock carved village of Avanos. Continue to the Underground City of Kaymakli. This fascinating subterranean city was built in the 7th century as a refuge for Christians fleeing the persecution. Stop in Pigeon Valley, one of the most amazing places ever seen. Then, see Uchisar Rock-Castle, a “troglodyte” valley and enjoy a great panoramic view of the valleys of Cappadocia. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 6, Tuesday-Cappadocia / Konya / Pamukkale (B,D)
After breakfast depart for a drive along the “Silk Road” and stop at the Caravanserai of Sultanhani, built as a safe heaven for the traders that frequently traveled this road. Continue west to Konya. See the Tomb and the Museum of the Sufi Mystic Rumi, known as Mevlana. Continue to Pamukkale for dinner and overnight.

Day 7, Wednesday-Pamukkale (B,D)
In the morning drive to visit the site of Aphrodisias, the city of marble, and the center of worship of the Goddess Aphrodite until the 6th century AD. Return to the hotel to enjoy SPA facilities of the hotel. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 8, Thursday-Pamukkale/Kusadasi (B,D)
After breakfast, drive to Pamukkale and first visit the ruins of ancient Roman spa Hierapolis, today a modern Turkish spa. Pamukkale is also known as the “Cotton Castle” because of the spring calcium laden waters, which cascade across terraced limestone pools. Then, continue to Kusadasi for dinner and overnight.

Day 9, Friday-Kusadasi (B,D)
After breakfast, depart for a full day tour of Ephesus. Ephesus is one of the most extensive and complete Greco-Roman sites in the world. Optional visit of Selcuk Museum, the Basilica of St. John, (entrance fee extra $ 10) the House of Virgin Mary-now Chapel, where Mary spent her last days. Return to Kusadasi for dinner and overnight.

Day 10, Saturday-Kusadasi / Canakkale (B,D)
After breakfast, drive to Pergamum, the most favored of the seven Churches. Visit the stunning Acropolis of the Hellenistic city, perched 1000 feet above the town. Later, visit the Asklepion, the earliest health center of Asia Minor and Red Basilica. Drive north to Canakkale for dinner and overnight.

Day 11, Sunday-Canakkale / Istanbul / Departure (B)
After breakfast, visit Troy, the legendary town in the lliad of Homer. Take ferry across the Dardanelle to Istanbul and stop at Gallipoli, the site of WWI battlefield. Continue to Istanbul Ataturk international Airport for your Turkish Airlines flight to New Delhi/ Mumbai.
