It’s Finally Here

Amidst a day of finishing up an exciting project – that I can’t wait to tell you about – and pulling wallpaper border off the kitchen walls, I got a pleasant surprise in the mail.

The Spring issue of Where Women Cook!!

Featuring Anne Marie’s kitchen and her scrumptious recipes.

Shot by me.

Published in a magazine.

Pinch me – really – pinch me.

I still can’t believe it.

This was such a fun, fun project.

So near and dear to my heart because of Anne Marie and her wonderful family.

And the fact that I love both Where Women Cook and Where Women Create.

It was so exciting to finally see all the hard work – on both of our ends – printed on the pages of this publication.

Thanks to Jo Packham for allowing me to work with you on this project.

Thanks to Anne Marie for putting in a good word for me.

Thanks to my family for listening to me dream and worry at the same time about my ability as a photographer.

And thanks to all of you – my amazing blog friends – for listening to me toot my own horn for a minute.

I am not really a horn tooter but I hope you indulge me for a minute or too.

In Her Element

She’s a farm girl at heart.

She loves animals.

She was right at home taking care of the horses.

Fate is a funny thing you know.

Who would have known that in a year or two she would fall in love with the boy who lived on this farm.

Now she takes care of the horses and cattle all the time.

Farm Life

We don’t have livestock on our farm.

Unless you count 4 dogs.

When my husband was growing up he had cattle and pigs and chickens.

But they are a lot of work and it’s hard to get away when you have so many mouths to feed.

We did however take care of cattle and horses a few years ago for our neighbors.

The conditions were not ideal.

The work was hard.

But my family was up for the challenge.

Actually they enjoyed it.

And I relished in taking photos just like Ree.

Just wanted to re-share some of my favorites with you.

Tomorrow I will post some of Karlie and the horses.

She was in heaven.

When I took this photo, I was focused in on the sailboats.

So many in one area.

A Saturday morning sail.

I purposely composed with the pier in the image.

But it wasn’t until I got home that I noticed the couple on the pier.

They look lost in each other.

Unaware of the beauty beyond them.

Focused on each other.

The beauty between them.

I have dreamed up a story for them.

A story of love through many years.

A love that has taken them through some hard times.

A love that is forever.
