Olympic gold medalist Quincy Wilson runs his final high school nationals race as top NIL athletes gather at Franklin Field June 18-21 for New Balance Nationals Outdoors.

Olympic gold medalist Quincy Wilson will close out his high school career at Franklin Field when New Balance Nationals Outdoors kicks off June 18-21 in Philadelphia.

One of the most decorated prep athletes in recent history, Wilson will compete in his final New Balance Nationals appearance alongside a strong group of New Balance NIL athletes who have posted some impressive performances this season.

Two men’s milers arrive fresh off breaking the four-minute barrier. Jackson Spencer ran 3:57.24 and Carter Smith followed with a 3:59.00 at a recent meet in St. Louis, earning both athletes a spot in one of track and field’s most exclusive clubs. Their matchup at Franklin Field is one of the most anticipated races on the schedule.

The women’s distance events feature Paige Sheppard, who recently set a personal best of 2:00.65 in the 800 meters. That time places her at No. 7 on the high school all-time list and makes her one of the favorites heading into race weekend. Sianni Wynn adds to the star power after winning her 15th career Meet of Champions title in New Jersey, a career achievement few prep athletes can match.

Also entered among the New Balance NIL athletes are Abby Hennessy, Mia Sirois, Cameron Homer, Olivia Harris, Cole Boone, Reagan Moore, Caleb Winders, Mallory Weller, Trent Daniels, Mackenzie Skelly, Celia Schulte, and Sophia Thompson.

New Balance Nationals Outdoors is one of the premier high school track and field meets in the country. Competition runs June 18-21 at Franklin Field in Philadelphia.

Angelina Alder, 13, sets a world age best at the Brooks PR Invitational in Renton alongside a sub-4 mile and top sprint results.

A strong day of high school track and field unfolded at the Brooks PR Invitational in Renton, Washington on June 7, as several young athletes posted times that turned heads across multiple events...Watch Angelina Alder’s race video below

The most historic result of the day came from 13-year-old Angelina Alder, who crossed the finish line in 4:38.25 in the junior girls’ mile. That time stands as the world best for ages 13 and 14, making it one of the most remarkable performances of the high school season so far.

Another young miler also made his mark. Fifteen-year-old Quenton Lanese took the top spot in the freshman mile with a winning time of 4:10.59. It was a strong showing from one of the youngest competitors on the track.

The men’s mile produced a headline result of its own, as Dylan Rowell broke the four-minute barrier with a clocking of 3:59.93. Going sub-4 in the mile remains one of the sport’s most recognized benchmarks, and Rowell cleared it on this occasion.

In the 110-meter hurdles — run at the high school height of 99 centimeters — Andrew Jones led the field with a time of 13.14 into a 0.7 wind. Josh Hamblin finished close behind in 13.24, making it a competitive race at the front.

The sprint events also saw quality performances. Under-18 athlete Aubrey Wilson won the 100 meters in 11.45 with a 0.2 wind reading. Ashtyn Lewis put together a solid 400-meter effort, finishing in 52.63.

Rounding out the standout results, under-18 middle-distance runner Paige Sheppard clocked 2:00.65 in the 800 meters, a solid performance in one of track’s most demanding events.

Shenese Walker, Dejanea Oakley, Kimar Farquharson, Rivaldo Marshall, Tyrice Taylor, Ralford Mullings and 28 other Jamaicans are set to compete at the 2026 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

Thirty-two Jamaican student-athletes are set to compete at the 2026 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships, scheduled for June 10-13 at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon. The group includes 14 women and 18 men spread across sprints, hurdles, middle-distance races, jumps and throws.

The four-day meet will air on ESPN and ESPN2, with each session beginning at 8 p.m. ET. Men’s competition opens Wednesday, June 10, followed by the women on Thursday, June 11. The men’s finals are scheduled for Friday, with the women’s championship events set for Saturday.

The seed marks listed below are based on performances recorded at the NCAA East and West First Round regional qualifying meets held two weekends ago and are used to determine championship seeding. In many cases, athletes have posted faster times or better marks earlier in the season than those reflected by their championship seed.

Dejanea Oakley, Shenese Walker Lead Jamaican Women at NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene

Florida State’s Shenese Walker enters the women’s 100 meters as the highest-seeded Jamaican after clocking 10.88 seconds at the NCAA East First Round. The former Hydel and St. Jago standout is expected to challenge for a place on the podium in Eugene.

Carleta Bernard of Texas (11.01) and Gabrielle Matthews of Florida (11.02) will also contest the women’s 100m. Matthews is entered in the 200m as well, carrying a regional qualifying mark of 22.78.

The women’s 400m features two Jamaicans. Georgia’s Dejanea Oakley enters with a seed time of 49.48, but her season and personal best of 48.92, done at the SEC Championships, which is also the fastest time in the world this year. Northwestern State’s Rushana Dwyer qualified in 50.81.

Three Jamaicans advanced in the women’s 100m hurdles. Janela Spencer of Ohio State leads the trio with 12.79, followed by Clemson’s Oneka Wilson at 12.88 and Texas Tech’s Toni-Ann Forbes at 12.92.

In the field events, West Virginia’s Aknishka McDonald will compete in the high jump. Kansas State’s Aaliyah Lindsay enters the long jump, while Clemson’s Shantae Foreman will contest both the long jump and triple jump. Texas A&M’s Macheda Linton joins Foreman in the triple jump competition.

Britannie Johnson of Purdue represents Jamaica in the women’s shot put, while Texas A&M’s Abigail Martin lines up in the discus throw after qualifying with a mark of 57.98 meters.

Ralford Mullings, Kimar Farquharson Headline Men’s Challenge at NCAA Outdoor Championships

Texas A&M’s Kimar Farquharson leads the Jamaican men in the 400 meters. The former Calabar High standout qualified with a regional mark of 45.30 and enters Eugene among the leading contenders. He ran a personal best 45.18 in the prelims at West Regionals last month.

Jamaica will be strongly represented in the men’s 800m through Arkansas teammates Tyrice Taylor and Rivaldo Marshall. Taylor, a product of Vere Technical, qualified in 1:44.35, while Marshall advanced with 1:45.10.

The men’s 110m hurdles is another event packed with Jamaican talent. Baylor’s Demario Prince enters with a seed time of 13.22, while Clemson’s Sharvis Simmonds (13.39) and Arkansas’ Jerome Campbell (13.42) are also expected to challenge for places in the final. Additional Jamaican representation comes from Jaheim Stern and Nazzio John.

LSU’s Jordan Turner qualified for the men’s long jump with 7.91m, while Kansas State’s Apalos Edwards enters the triple jump with 16.65m.

Jamaica Dominates the Throws

The throws events provide Jamaica’s deepest representation at the championships.

In the men’s shot put, Texas’ Shaiquan Dunn qualified with 18.81m, while Oregon’s Kobe Lawrence advanced with 18.69m.

The men’s discus features six Jamaicans, making it the most heavily represented event among the Jamaican contingent. Oklahoma’s Ralford Mullings leads the group with a regional mark of 64.51m, followed by Florida State’s Shamar Reid (64.22m), USC’s Racquil Broderick (62.66m), Alabama’s Trevor Gunzell (61.77m), LSU’s Chad Hendricks (58.30m) and Alabama’s Christopher Young (58.26m).

Jamaica is also well represented in the men’s javelin through Brandon Falconer of Mount St. Mary’s and Louisiana’s Jemar Ferguson, who qualified with marks of 67.28m and 66.20m, respectively.

With qualifiers across 17 events, Jamaica once again boasts one of the strongest international contingents at the NCAA Championships. The performances over four days in Eugene will provide another measure of the island’s impressive collegiate pipeline and could offer a glimpse of future stars for Jamaica’s senior national teams.

Norwegian sprint legend Karsten Warholm signs with electric car brand Zeekr — a partnership five years in the making. Get the full story.

Five years ago, two very different stories started at almost the exact same time. One happened on a running track in Norway. The other happened in a boardroom in China. Now, they’ve come together in a way that actually makes a lot of sense.

Norwegian sprinter Karsten Warholm — the fastest 400-meter hurdler in history — has signed on as an official ambassador for Zeekr, a premium electric vehicle brand. The announcement comes just days before Warholm races at the Bislett Games in Oslo on June 10, the very same track where he shattered the world record back in July 2021.

Same Year, Different Stages

Here’s where it gets interesting. Warholm broke the 400m hurdles world record at Bislett Stadium in the summer of 2021. That same year, Zeekr launched its first vehicles. Both were new, fast, and making a lot of noise. Now, five years later, they’re celebrating their shared anniversary as official partners.

Warholm didn’t stop at just one world record, either. He lowered his own time again at the Tokyo Olympics later that summer. His record of 45.94 seconds still stands today, and he remains one of the biggest names in global track and field.

Zeekr has grown quickly too. The brand now sells vehicles in 45 markets around the world, including 16 countries across Europe.

More Than Just a Sponsorship Deal

This isn’t just a company slapping an athlete’s face on a billboard. Warholm will appear in exclusive content throughout the year, showing what elite athletic performance and high-end electric vehicles actually have in common. Spoiler: it’s all about the tiny details.

Warholm put it pretty well himself.

“Performance at this level has never been just about one race,” he said. “It is about everything around it, the preparation, the precision, and the partners who help build a career. Zeekr lives at that level of detail. Joining them now, in a year that marks five years for both of us since 2021, with a season that points towards the World Championships and ultimately Los Angeles, feels like the right partnership at the right time.”

Electric Cars on the Diamond League Circuit

The partnership goes beyond Warholm personally. Zeekr is already the Official Mobility Partner of the Wanda Diamond League for the 2026 season. A fleet of Zeekr X, Zeekr 7X, and the brand-new Zeekr 7GT will support seven European Diamond League events — in Rome, Stockholm, Oslo, Paris, Monaco, Lausanne, and Zurich — handling athlete transportation, team logistics, and media operations.

The season wraps up in Brussels on September 4 and 5.

Lothar Schupet, CEO of Zeekr Europe, said the timing feels meaningful for the brand.

“Karsten represents everything we admire in elite performance and fundamental principles of Zeekr: precision, consistency and a relentless commitment to excellence,” Schupet said. “To welcome him as a Zeekr ambassador in a year that marks five years for both the athlete and the brand is a moment of real meaning for us.”

Diamond League CEO Petr Stastny was equally enthusiastic.

“Karsten is one of the most exceptional athletes in our series, and partnerships like this strengthen the connection between our athletes and the brands that support our competitions,” Stastny said. “I’m excited to see what the future holds for Zeekr and this unique partnership.”

What’s Next for Warholm

With the World Championships and the Los Angeles Olympics on the horizon, Warholm has plenty of reasons to stay sharp. And if his track record — pun absolutely intended — says anything, he’s not slowing down anytime soon.

Audrey Werro stuns Keely Hodgkinson with a Diamond League record, Armand Duplantis loses for the first time in nearly three years, and Jamaica's Nia Robinson earns a podium finish in the women's long jump.

The highlight of the Bauhaus-Galan or Stockholm Diamond League was the women’s 800m race, as expected, but the main player was different. Audrey Werro’s finish over Keely Hodgkinson was special in a historic race that suggests the days of Kratochvílová’s world record are numbered.

On the other side, local star Armand Duplantis lost for the first time since July 21, 2023, in Monaco, where he finished fourth with 5.72m. Since then, he had won 40 consecutive competitions. In addition to the women’s 800m, there were two more meeting records set in the women’s steeplechase and shot put. U.S. sprint favorites dominated, with only Patterson falling short in the men’s 400m.

There was also a special win from a 17-year-old in the men’s 800m. The Scandinavian Tour will conclude at its final stop on Wednesday in Oslo.

MEN

100m (non-DL) — A season’s best of 10.07 (+0.5) for 2025 world indoor champion Jeremiah Azu in a largely domestic race. Taymir Burnet ran 10.09, equaling his personal best.

200m — A dominant win for Kenny Bednarek in 19.87 (+1.0) ahead of South Africa’s Sinesipho Dambile in 20.10. Traore suffered an injury during warm-up and did not compete.

Pole vault — A major upset as Mondo Duplantis lost for the first time since July 2023. Kurtis Marschall cleared 5.90m on his third attempt to defeat Duplantis, who cleared only 5.80m before failing twice at 6.00m and once at 6.05m. Marschall also made two attempts at 6.05m.

100m — Triple world champion Melissa Jefferson-Wooden returned to winning form with 10.84 (+0.8), ahead of Amy Hunt, who broke the 11-second barrier for the first time with a personal best of 10.97.

Audrey Werro produced a shock win over Keely Hodgkinson, winning in the third-fastest time in history with a Diamond League record of 1:53.98. Hodgkinson clocked 1:54.33 for a national record — the sixth-fastest time in history and the fastest-ever non-winning time. National records for both athletes.

3000m steeplechase — A first-ever Diamond League win for Marwa Bouzayani, who set a meeting record of 8:59.28 — her third sub-9:00 performance of the year. Elise Thorner was a distant second in 9:11.01. Ilona Mononen finished sixth in another Finnish record of 9:15.18.

Long jump — A first-ever Diamond League win for France’s Hilary Kpatcha (6.85m, +2.4) ahead of Italy’s Larissa Iapichino (6.84m, +2.1) and Jamaica’s Nia Robinson (6.80m, +2.4).
