I am working on a 1948 Ford 8N that had a bad growl in the transmission. Upon splitting the tractor and inspecting things, I determined that the mainshaft pilot bearing (part number 9N7120) was the bad one. Its outer race is cut into the input shaft drive gear, and it presses onto the transmission mainshaft. It was easy to replace, although not cheap. I also replaced the input shaft bearing (part number 9N7066) to be safe. <br />

When you rebuild a Case backhoe hydraulic cylinder this is a screw for the gland nut. It&#039;s a No #8 -32x3/8 thread cutting screw (type F steel). I have one screw I may have messed up. Most places want crazy money for one screw. part #187-1524  or also 86642312. I did find a similar type screw on Grainger where it was like a few bucks for 100 of them. <br />

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class="bbWrapper">I finally mounted the top and tilt cylinders that have been sitting in my shop for years and to my dismay the tilt unit drops down after a few hours. I have used the tilt on my old 6040 and never had a drop down but on the latest tractor it does.<br />

I blew both coils on the Robin engine. Fortunately I found a used set. Now it’s time for me to overthink things in the spring since it’s too wet to do anything. Seems like heat is the biggest enemy of the PT.  I cut some luan and set it in the back of the engine figuring it will prevent the recycling of hot air. I wouldn’t be that thrilled with it except for the fuel mileage.  It’s getting 39mpg mixed driving.  It’s maybe a little small but maybe not.  They make a Highlander which looks like it gets 35mpg.  It looks like Honda makes the CRV in a hybrid but that’s it for them.  The CRV looks similar to the RAV4 in size.  I think I’d prefer Honda or Toyota but I’m not brand loyal. Any other ones...<br />

I’m gonna take a look at it tomorrow so I don’t really know a whole lot about it other than it has a mower deck on it and I’m more interested in getting a brush hog for it. The guy is asking $700 for it. Are brush hogs hard to find to put on these things? Also, I don’t know how well these things work on Hills. The Mahindra manual says the starting procedure is to put speed control at idle, hit the glow plugs (10 sec), then start the engine, cold or hot.  The Mitsubishi SL3 Operation/Maitenance manual says the cold engine start procedure is to put the speed control at full hit the glow plugs and start. Also says to give it a 5-10 min. warm up at idle which also differs from Mahindra&#039;s manual. <br />

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class="bbWrapper">How concerned should I be about Kubota ZD326 mower deck gearbox fluid that looks a little like coffee with way too much cream in it? It&#039;s not foamy when I finish mowing, but it isn&#039;t clear.<br />

I have never left this thing open, but I did leave it outside while I was working on it, with the fill plug screwed in partially but not completely tight. It&#039;s hard to believe water could have gotten in that way.<br />

I sucked the fluid out and replaced it, but it is not really possible to get it all out...<br />

I&#039;ve got an issue with my TN70S (cab) where I get an error code 47 and the tractor won&#039;t move.  I&#039;ve heard that it means the clutch switch is too high, but I&#039;m not sure what to do about that.  I opened up the access panel under the steering wheel and found the switch, but there isn&#039;t any way to physically adjust it. I found some to replace what I thought was missng, however, upon putting them in, I&#039;ve noticed even more missing. Some of the holes are the same size as what I just replaced. The others are smaller, they&#039;ve all fallen out so I don&#039;t habe ine to compare to match the size, and I&#039;ve had no luck finding the specs online anywhere.       <content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class="bbWrapper">I love that nobody knows about certain good saws out there. :laughing: Had to put in another piston today after a tear down to see what was up with the stuck ring. <br />
These saws were way ahead of their time IMO. 1984 Partner 5000 plus and I had a 1979  5000 open port that was strong or stronger.  This makes about 15 or more of these I have had now. Keeping a few back, well maybe. <br />
