I’ll be teaching an ONLINE photography beginner class starting this Monday 4/13. ANYONE is welcome to join  You can learn from the comfort and safety of your own home.

So if you have ever wanted to learn how to take great pictures of your own family, LET’S DO THIS!

Some things I will cover during this FIVE (5) day course:

• Learn how to use your camera (dslr or mobile).
• Find good light inside your house, and in your yard.
• Easy editing, that YOU can accomplish.
• Posing angles and capturing candids.
• And probably a lot of random laughter and shenanigans.
• I’ll even show you how to set up your camera to take your OWN “front porch” family picture.

Additionally… classes will be conducted LIVE in a private Facebook group… then recorded so you can watch (rewatch) at your own leisure.

Within this group, we will learn, grow, chat and share! It will be a safe community with other people just like YOU. Learning from each other, as well as from my professional teachings.

First of all, I am obsessed with all things art. I love painted works in art galleries. Watercolors and stenciling. I adore movies and the work that goes behind the scenes… like picking apart the pieces and directions of an artistic director like Hitchcock! Additionally, I obsess over the art in nature, and the beauty of the tones in ocean water. I am just simply obsessed with art!

But when it comes to my own art, I love the fact that I am also able to create even when time are slow. Whether it’s because of slow season, or something as crazy as the Covid 19 that is wreaking havoc worldwide.

My art is always there for me.

This weekend I was feeling the blues, with nothing new to work on. So I grabbed and old image, one of my favorites… and got to work!

I also decided to jump into some photography education and test out products that I previously did not have the time to enjoy.

And man o’ man… video is something extra special during a newborn session!

I think any ‘experienced’ mother (aka has babies at home) can tell you that the days go by so fast, and babies change and grow so very quickly. From newborn, to even as little as 2 months, the changes are mind blowing.

Those little baby twitches, and movements. The tiny smiles that peek out. Teeny toes moving around. Video gives ALL THE GOOD FEELS!

Nashville Photographer? Why not?! I know that I am based in Chicago, but friends… I LOVE TO TRAVEL!

Well gosh… embarrassing enough, it’s been a WHILE since I last blogged! Like, roughly 6 months *sigh*.

Many of you already know that my family has been battling Lyme disease for the past year, and I think we are finally on the “up and up”! YAY! Good health = more energy = MORE TIME TO SHARE THE FUN STUFF!

With that said, I have had so many beautiful sessions that I have not yet shared on my blog – shame shame Tracy Joy! Being a photographer in the Nashville area, is beyond a dream for this Chicago tog!

He slept like a champ, hardly a peep!  And can we talk about how darling are his squishy cheeks?!  However, he did not let me leave without letting me know how he felt about being woken up …. aka I got pooped on!  Which always makes me ‘lol’.   A hazard of the job, that’s what I say, because changing a diaper is second nature to any good newborn photographer!

Mr Spencer, nothing makes me happier than squishy baby cheeks.
