I was hoping for some good weather as I wandered around the Capital on Sunday afternoon. I was with some UFC friends and we only had a couple hours so after hitting the Newseum to see their Photo of the Year exhibit, we walked down towards the Capital Building. The clouds were sprinkling a tiny bit of rain and added a good background behind the building.

I processed this by photo by converting the 3 shots to 5 tifs at -2 -1 0 +1 +2 and then tonemapping in Photomatix. I then imported it into photoshop and masked out different areas of the image to process each part separately. I used the tutorials at http://farbspiel.wordpress.com/ to learn all these different processes…

I went sightseeing yesterday in Washington DC w/my friends Nick & Aaron @nickusmc1 @aaronrileymma .. For people that live in a city already that’s a tedious thing to do so I appreciate that they went along with me.. My mission was to find some cool photos and while I didn’t get a lot of them, I definitely was successful in my endeavor.

This photo was taken at the Pentagon Station on the DC Metro as we were en route to the Archives Metro Station. I LOVE the ceilings in their public transportation and took full advantage of them; in spite of the “no photography” sign emblazoned on the wall next to where I stood to take this photo..

I took 3 images at -2, 0, +2 and then converted them in Photoshop to Tifs at -3, -2, -1, 0, 1, 2, 3, 4.. I tonemapped using photomatix. I imported into photoshop and I masked out different sections of the image and applied curves adjustment layers, messed with saturation layers, burned and dodged, and more…

Hope you enjoy it!

Trash the Dress is a concept I had never heard of until recently when I joined google+ a few months ago. This is the act of getting married in the wedding dress, and then trashing the dress you will NEVER use again the day after in a photoshoot.

I had the opportunity to try it out a couple weeks ago when I headed to Hawaii for a friends wedding. It was very creative and a lot of fun… You can check out some of my favorite shots by going here: http://tracylee.org/trash-the-dress
