First the market HATES uncertainty and the lack of comments or at least constructive comments from Greece's task masters today, caused the initial uncertainty in the FX market which effected the stock market (by killing momentum and&lt;div class="feedflare"&gt;

The Index can be quite volatile, but the trend of the index is telling.

The BDI tells us what demand is for the shipping dry goods (meaning it excludes Oil, Natural Gas, etc) across the world. When prices are low, there is plenty of capacity and it tells us&lt;div class="feedflare"&gt;

Today Financials took the brunt of the blow. If you keep up with the news, you'll probably know that today wasn't about margin hikes on Italian debt, it was about Mer-Kozy's new vision of the EU and who will be allowed to stay in the club and who will be booted from the club.&lt;div class="feedflare"&gt;
