One of our esteemed Cartel DJs is going on a hiatus for a while… but has one more mix up her sleeve. This is a trance mix from Vicky Wood, not to be missed. Her previous trance mix “Revolution” has nearly 7,000 listens on Mixcloud: http://www.mixcloud.com/Trance_Mix/vicky-wood-revolution/

Despite how good “Revolution” is, her 2 hour classic trance showcase is now my favorite of hers. I could describe it in words, but its best for you to listen to it and experience it for yourself.

This week we also have a featured tune from Tangle & Mateusz entitled “Evergreen”. Evergreen is a really hard tech trance tune to get this trance mix party started, it’s even up to 92 on Beatport’s top 100 Trance chart.

About Vicky Wood:

Vicky grew up in Birmingham, England. In the early days was inspired by countless nights at Sanctuary Nightclub when GodsKitchen started to take off. Having moved away in early 2000 she took a semi-break from the EDM scene for a few years, but that wasn’t to last too long. With internet radio becoming more popular she discovered the love for EDM all over again, but it wasn’t until 2004 until she thought about DJing.

Now in 2011 she has the show ‘Connected’ at AH.FM on the 2nd & 4th Friday’s of the month & the Weekly Essentials Podcast syndicated on a number of radio stations & available to subscribe in iTunes, playing her favourites from the world of electronic dance music. After having a mashup played on ASOT 345, she has been slowly learning production techniques & is currently working in a collaboration project on new original material.

Greetings folks! Andrew Shepard here! I hope you all had a great 2011, I am thankful that the year finally came to end, not saying it was a bad year, but it certainly wasn’t a great year for me… But on the plus side, I have many great new fans, and great listeners! Now to start off the new year with a mixset of mine .

In the 2nd hour of this set, you will hear my personal favourites of 2011… If you’ve been an avid listener of mine, you will recognize some of these tunes as well .

I’ve spent a large amount of time working on this arrangement (going back all the way into October), and this one is very personal to me. The theme for this mix set is “Winter Dreams”, and also, “Love”. Whether it’s the one you love dearly in your life, or the one you haven’t met yet. I feel that there is someone out there for all of us, some may have found them, I however, have not.

So as you sit back and listen, get lost in your emotions and your thoughts, enjoy it. Life is short, life is fragile. This one is for the girl I will spend the rest of my life with, but haven’t met yet…

The end of the year is near, time for our End of Year Mix. This one does not pull any punches and brings you a variety of styles from all around the world: First up, all the way from Australia, is Brioni Faith’s new single “In the Dark”, dedicated to all those feeling down during this “merry” part of the year. Then, from England, it’s Quade77, with their incredible mix of trance with a hint of psy and even metal. Brioni Faith tells the story of ‘In The Dark.’

The strange thing was… the day before I wrote it, I had this feeing that a song
was “about to come through…”
and the next morning, I woke up feeling as if I had lost everything in my life.

There was a deep sense of sadness and feeling of “aloneness” that was quite unlike
anything I’d felt before.
I’d recently come out of a long term relationship and was still pretty new to being
on my own.

As I lay there, immersed in this feeling, tears running down my face… there was a
stronger feeling underneath it which seemed to rise to the surface.

It was as if a voice from deep within me, was speaking to me.
Telling me that I was not alone, that I could never be alone.

I believe that when we feel the most alone…. there is a greater part of ourselves
that we find.
Because in that space… there is nothing else.

There is beauty in the darkness. There is an inner light that shines.

Maybe we need the dark to see it…”

Hello hello hello everyone!

This is the last mix of the year with Eski’s voice on it, he will be back around mid January. For next weeks Christmas special mix (don’t worry, there will be no christmas music in it), Brioni Faith will be doing the voice-over, and that will be the last mix until January 12th of 2012 when we come back refreshed and ready to go with more great weekly mixes.

I fixed the site that was causing trancemix.org issues for about 6 months: http://djmixes.org. It’s been to the valet and is all polished and ready for you along with a brand spanking new forum (which is very close to launch) using the best forum software in the world. Anywho, here’s this weeks, well more like last weeks, trance mix. It’s from one of the talented acts found in our Trance group on Mixcloud: http://www.mixcloud.com/groups/trance/, this mix is a personal favorite of mine, i knew it would be just by looking at the tracklist.

About Deadbeatz:

Deadbeatz is a DJ duo formed at the beginning of 2011 by House DJs Andrew Zigmund and Danny Brian.

It started off with a weekly House radio show named ‘Nightlife’ broadcasted worldwide on Energy FM UK, while also being active in local clubs and venues and quickly rising in popularity.
