On Friday afternoon, we updated TransferBigFiles with an enhancement that we think you'll love. We've now made it easier than ever to Signup for or Login to TransferBigFiles using an account from Facebook, Google, or Yahoo.

The update also includes a few other enhancements under the hood. You'll find that transfers (especially those with lots of files) will be noticeably faster using the desktop clients. Downloads will also start faster than before and overall reliability and stability have been improved too.

TransferBigFiles Passes 250,000 Users!

Not much to report in this blog post, except that this week, we passed the 250,000 user milestone. That's 250 thousand registered users! It's hard to believe because more than 80% of the transfers that go through the TransferBigFiles service are by anonymous users which have been millions over the years.

Thanks to everyone who has made this milestone possible. Next stop, 1 Million registered users.

iOS 5 Workaround for TransferBigFiles iPhone App

TransferBigFiles iPhone app users who are running the new iOS 5 may experience issues when uploading files. For a quick workaround, go to the "Settings" tab, select the "Media Picker" setting, and change it to the "Compressed: smaller files" option. This should fix any upload issues you are having and rest assured our Dev team is quickly working to resolve this issue.

Hi everyone! We have been way overdue for a blog. Sorry it took us so long, but it's finally here. We'll try to keep you posted on the latest developments of TransferBigFiles.com. Cool new features and things we think you'll love.

Why did it take us so long to get the blog going? We have been wanting to setup a blog for months and thought about using WordPress, Posterous or Tumblr, but we wanted our blog to look like our site and none of those products make that an easy process (especially as often as we change our site's look and feel).

It turns out that one of the companies working with us in the AZ Disruptors incubator (in Scottsdale AZ) is a cool new startup that solves the theming problem. Blogic lets you create a blog that automagically matches your web site in less than 30 seconds. Now that's cool! Knowing that their product was just around the corner, we decided to wait until they launched (which they did - just last week!). We think it was worth the wait.

Anyways, I digress. We are here now and we have our blog, so lets get started talking about the cool new things...

As you know, over the last few months, we've added a number of cool new features, including:

Upload Widgets to receive files (including the ability to embed an upload widget on your own web site)
Drag-and-Drop Files to Start a New Transfer (on browsers that support drag-and-drop - as in NOT IE :-)
Contact Management so you can easily start a new file transfer to past contacts

We have lots of other cool things planned for the near future. So stay tuned and we'll keep you posted.
